Stinky Boba is located right in Old Town Monrovia. I decided to check it out mainly because the name caught my attention. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that the shop is spacious and kept pretty clean. There's plenty of seating, which is always a plus, but the space itself felt a little plain to me. There weren't any comfortable couches or much décor to give it a fun personality or cozy hangout vibe. One downside is that they don't have restrooms available. They have a decent drink menu, but no food options. Games are available upon request, though you do have to show ID to use them. Customer service was excellent. My drink was ready within just a few minutes, and the guy who took my order was wonderful. Just a heads up... they do charge a 3% fee for using a credit card. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but I'll probably stick with some of the other boba spots down the block. Good boba, okay tea, nice employee. I came when they first opened on a Saturday. The person who helped me was knowledgeable and friendly. She advised me of the 3% service fee if paying with credit card. I asked her about the Premium Milk Tea; she explained that it was a mix of green, black and oolong teas. Instead, I settled on the Traditional Milk Tea with boba ($6.50 regular size). I asked for regular ice and 80% sugar. The boba had good brown sugar flavor. The sugar lifted off and mixed with the drink faster than usual, but I wouldn't count it against them. Since I went at opening, I think it simply didn't have enough time to soak into the boba. The warm pearls were good and chewy, on the softer side until it mixed with the ice. The size of the pearls were slightly smaller than I prefer (slightly smaller than the circumference of the boba straw), but it didn't bother me. However, I couldn't taste the black tea at all. The drink taste was great without being flooded by sugar/milk, and the sweetness of the addition of boba-mix was nice. The boba seem to be the classic pre-made boba, where once that sweet syrup that the boba is dunked in mixes in with the drink, the boba becomes flavorless. The texture of the boba is nice and chewy though. The price seemed a bit high: ~$6 for 1 drink seemed a bit high for me, but maybe I need to get used to the area. I have not seen any deals yet, but maybe as time passes/I return more I will see them. Overall a 4/5 for me: I'd go back if I really have a craving and some money to spare. I asked if they had Brown Sugar Milk Tea and they were like "yes, Tiger Milk" and they had it in the system already, but I wanted to double check so I said "Tiger Milk has tea in it? Because most places it's just milk and brown sugar" and he explained to me how he makes it, so I go "so no tea is in it, can you make a Milk tea with brown sugar since you have all the ingredients" and the answer was no.
