I am a fan of BenGong's Tea as they are the definition of boba drinks done right. Each drink is made with real, freshly, brewed tea or fresh fruits... none of that powder crap. The quality of their teas are also regarded as high-quality as you can taste the genuine tea fragrances in the drink despite the added milk or toppings. They have unique tea flavors and toppings that differentiates them from so many other boba houses in the 626 area. 1. Pistachio Coconut Velvet (5/5) A summer/seasonal drink that is worth raving about. It's super refreshing from the coconut water, yet creamy and luxurious from the velvety pistachio cream. They are generous with the pistachio bits that they coat on top of the pistachio foam. I devoured this drink it less then 2 minutes and almost went back for a 2nd cup. 2. Tea-cube Special (5/5) This is a simple, yet, satisfying cup of traditional milk tea. It's made from a black tea base + milk + tea-cube topping. The tea-cube is made from fresh tea then made into a jelly cubes. Super creative, yet delicious. It pairs well with almost any milk tea based drinks. 3. Mango Pomelo Sago (4/5) If you like mangos and like fruity drinks, then this is a good choice. It comes with sago toppings, which pairs well with the drink. When it's fresh and icy, it's super refreshing. However, if you wait too long and it melts, the drink can get a bit too sweet. 4. Osmanthus Rice Milk Tea (4.5/5) This drink is a Jasmine tea base with osmanthus rice paste, milk and crystal boba. You certainly can taste the osmanthus flavor. This is probably one of my new favorite places for milk tea! There's plenty of parking in this plaza. Staff was friendly, but also busy making drinks. The interior has a modern and classy feel. There's a tree with everyone's wishes and hopes. The store itself is super clean. The menu was extensive and had so many options. The ordering kiosk displayed all the choices aesthetically and had appropriate descriptions. I liked how you could choose what kind of tea you'd get for some drinks (jasmine or black tea!) The tea cube special sounded unique so I gave it a try. It had a strong tea taste. The tea cubes were squishy and had a firm jelly texture. This drink would definitely fall more towards the chocolatey side. I felt that it was still sweet at 25% sugar, but I'd still get it again! Each time we've gone, we've tried a different drink and havent been disappointed. They are helpful with recommendations as well, if youre not sure what to order. Their teas taste really good and boba is also good. Some places the drink are good but boba is not or vice versa. This place you can get both and be satisfied. They recommended I get the Mango Pomelo Sago which they say is their house drink and I have to say that it was a 10/10. Whenever I'm in Arcadia, BenGong is one of my go to spots. Their menu is quite extensive and drinks never disappoint. Parking is plentiful and free which is a nice plus. Interior is very cute, good amount of tables as I see plenty of people sit and do work on their laptops here. To the right is a wishing tree that's decorated and perfect for photos. (Ordered on this specific occasion) -- Peach Oolong Milk Tea ($6.00) -- Very refreshing drink, peach doesn't overpower the drink as a whole and is just a perfect drink overall. Came in their deco cups which was a plus. Mixed very well with the Oolong Milk Tea, I would recommend this drink for anyone that has trouble deciding what to get. 10/10 -- Strawberry Peach Sparkling Tea ($6.25) -- I was pretty interested in the sparkling series and this one caught my eye the most. It's pretty much as expected, sparkling tea. Similar to a soda feeling, this was a solid refresher on a warm day. Although the taste kind of went away after about an hour, it was still a decent drink to try. Definitely checking the other sparkling drinks out next time I visit. 8/10 One underrated thing about this shop is their different type of cups. Ranging from the standard size cups, to their round cups and their decorated cups. Many drinks come in the smaller round cups so watch out for that if you're expecting a standard cup. The fruit tea had such freshnesss to it I'm like craving it every day ever since The location itself is really nice, modern, and thoughtfully designed. they actually have a little activity you can do while waiting for your drink. There's a tree inside where you can hang an affirmation bookmark. They provide yarn and bookmarks so you can write your own message and add it to the tree, which was so unique and rare to see a business too! I give them props for standing out like that! This viral spot got some new drinks. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. They gave me their popular mango pomelo sago, strawberry matcha, pistachio coconut, and pistachio latte to try. The mango pomelo was smooth creamy very mangoy and had a little bit of soft sago, chewy agar boba, pomelo pulp, and mango chunks. The strawberry matcha had a thick salty cheese foam top, earthy milky mellow matcha, and a bit of bright tart sweet strawberry jam at the bottom. I came a couple of weeks ago on a Monday evening with a friend and it was pretty empty, maybe one or two other people present but on their way out. Since I was trying to avoid having caffeine too late I got a couple of recommendations from a staff member (their non caffeine list isn't too expansive if you want milk tea), and landed on their brown sugar boba, but asked if I could still do the crème brûlée cheese foam top! While we waited, at least in the Arcadia location they have little corner to browse really cute stick on nails and a small sit down area with beautiful wall art. The cheese foam top with crème brûlée was so yummy, and my first time trying it that way as well. The boba itself was a little on the harder side and slightly more chewy than I sometimes prefer, but the brown syrup with the cheese foam added created a really nice sweet, creamy, lightly salted flavor which I loved! I found myself craving it again the following week and went on Saturday evening where it was packed inside! People kept coming in after I placed my order and the boba this time was the perfect texture - almost like how the perfect noodle is al dente, the boba was the perfect texture at soft but chewy this time! Bad experience since there was a strand of hair in the cheese foam. I'm not sure why, but BenGong seems to have so much hype around it. To me, it is just OK. I came here to pick up 2 drink orders since it was on the way home for me. Service was fast and I was in and out. When I handed the drink to my friend, he randomly decided to open the lid, and there, we found a strand of hair, all curled up/mixed in with the cheese foam. It was a long strand of hair too and needless to say, we were very grossed out. 3.5 stars for the drinks. The quality of the tea and ingredients were good, but I found that the way my boba milk tea was made impacted the taste. While the employees were super nice, their familiarity with the menu varies. One time, I had a thorough and knowledgeable person explain the drinks. Another time, my question was answered with a brisk "oh, I wouldn't know" and that was it. Wifi was free; I scanned the QR code to connect on my phone and laptop. The inside of the small shop was bright and fun, with a wish tree on display and custom press on nail kits for sale. There was a small table for two outside and 3 or 4 tables that seat 4 inside. Sitting away from the speakers, I thought the volume of the music was reasonable. However, the ambient noise got loud as each table filled up with customers. I noticed outlets on the wall opposite of the tables. DRINKS ORDERED - Burnt Caramel Cheese Milk Tea ($5.25 regular size + $0.75 Boba). I asked for regular ice and 75% sugar, but maybe I should have ordered extra ice because the pearls were piping hot. Due to the temperature, the boba was extremely soft. It melted all of the ice and brought out the sourness of the cheese, which was a bit unpleasant. I was quite disappointed until I got halfway into the drink. Once I got to the cooled part, I could taste the subtle tea and caramel notes in the creamy, salty-sweet beverage. The texture of the boba firmed up to an acceptable hardness and chewiness (for me). I also enjoyed the crispy toasted coconut on top. The sweetness level was good for me, and even my bf who usually prefers 50% sweetness gave it the compliment of "not too sweet". - Strawberry Cheese Tea ($6.25 large size, 75% sugar). I wanted no caffeine, but they only offered lower caffeine options. This drink had a small amount of jasmine green tea that I couldn't really taste, so it did the trick. However, the flavor of the slush was just okay. It honestly tasted like a diluted smoothie made with frozen strawberries that you could make at home. However, I appreciated the light sweetness and tartness and the finely blended ice. My favorite component was the thick and slightly salted cream cheese topping. Lastly, I had a sip of my friend's iced osmanthus cloud drink. I'm not sure what fruit was in it, but I thought it tasted refreshing, maybe a little sweet. read more

The sweetness came from the crystal boba, but without the additional add on, I don't think I would've liked the drink on its own. The service was fast, I probably got my drink less than 5 minutes after placing my order. The store is also cute and had sufficient indoor seating. They had other drinks featured on their menu that are considered their top sellers, so maybe I have to come back and give those a try. I ordered the black rice taro milk tea. I wasn't sure what to expect, but what it ended up being was definitely not what I anticipated for. The black rice and taro was blended and scraped on the sides of the cup.
