Hidden Gem. I've been coming here since I was little kid it's truly one of a kind. The famous Nixon got his tie cut here. So much history here. The steaks are broiled over charcoal, I asked for medium and it was on point. Service is good, they check on you consistently. Warm welcome and goodbyes. Miguel our waiter was great.

Today's visit was the first for my wife and I since 2020. I am wondering why we waited so long to return. Everything was amazing!!! From the amazing service to the incredible food, it was all simply amazing. My wife since 2020 is now gluten free and not by choice and although they don't have a written menu to choose from the wait staff was so knowledgeable and they had a ton of options for my wife. The entire experience was just amazing. Let's just say we aren't eating another six years to return. As for the ambiance the location speaks for itself. From the vintage cigarette machine to the juke box, the establishment clearly speaks for itself. See you soon!!!

Made reservations for our anniversary! Was seated very quickly, had a wonderful time and food was FANTASTIC. Loved the casual dress code and how private and relaxed it felt. We chose the tomahawk steak dinner for two and the small hot skillet mushrooms. Everything was excellent.

    Don't wear a tie!!!

Got the platter for 2 surf and turf. With salad and baked potato plus beans and garlic bread. Man was this a sweet deal. Under $100 for a 20oz porterhouse and a 6oz lobster tail plus all those fixings? Soooooooo good. My son had the burger and he said it was the best he's ever had! Loved the huge oak tree in the middle of the restaurant and all Of the hanging ties! That's right don't come in here with a tie unless you want it cut off. Excellent wine selection and a full bar. Totally family friendly for a fun night out in an amazing old spot out in Trabuco Canyon. Fun fact: this was Richard Nixon's favorite steak house. Even came here and got his tie cut off. We will be back!!!

I LOVED this place. I felt like I had completely escaped Orange County for the evening. The hostess gave us the history of the place as she walked us to our table. The building was originally built by a man as his home. A few decades later he sold it to a woman who made it a restaurant. It's built around trees and their stumps still protrude around the tables and walls. The cutting off of the ties was so cute, too. My partner was bummed he didn't wear one! Once we were sat, it did take a while for a server to take our order. But, once it was taken, food and drink came out quickly. Their menu is so affordable. I think the most expensive item I spotted was filet mignon for $50. My partner and I both indulged in the Thursday Night Specials. He got the Beef Ribs & Fries ($25) and I got the 10 oz Flat Iron Steak ($33). Both were delicious and no nonsense. At the end of the meal, the server brought a complimentary hot fudge sundae to celebrate a birthday at our table. I cannot wait to come back here time and time again!

Never been here before! Checked it out for my dad's birthday. My whole party each got a steak and I opted for a pasta after a late lunch. Everything was great! No complaints on the food and the party of 4 was happy! Our dessert was fantastic as well. My espresso martini was missing espresso beans :( it was tasty though. Very strong. Service was good, our waitress was so sweet. I think the prices were pretty fair for the food. I do think where we were sat was a bit cramped. They had three tables back to back to back and we were in the middle table. I really felt like everyone around us was listening to our conversations, forcing us to talk quietly. I love the ties though!! Such a fun idea.

Loved our experience here! It was a little in the middle of nowhere but they valet your care for free! The service was friendly and the vibes were giving fancy Texas Roadhouse?? The food was really the stand out. 10/10. Ribs fell off the bone before I could even get a pic! I suggest getting the peppercorn sauce (just wish it was bigger)!

We went to this steakhouse for dinner and what a pleasant surprise. The inside was old school with many things you used to see in restaurants. Cigarette machine, Juke box. and so much more to check out. Lots of pictures of guests and ties. Great bar area. The service here was great. The server went over the menu with us, and we decided on the filet and some pasta. The salad was great!! The food was great!! The whole experience from start to finish was over the top great! We will be back for sure. If you're looking from some great food and drinks this is the place for you. They are the best!!

Thursday night special - Prime Rib
    Erin P.

Another amazing meal at the warm and cozy Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse. The best thing about Thursday nights is the prime rib, which was so juicy and tender. We started with our favorite appetizer, the prawns. And as always, we were treated like family and our favorite seats were ready and waiting for us. If you want to change things up, make a reservation for prime rib next Thursday.

Places like Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse aren't just restaurants -- they're little time capsules. You walk in and suddenly history doesn't feel distant or formal anymore. It feels local. Familiar. Almost personal. When you see photos and the tie of Richard Nixon, it wasn't really about politics. It's that feeling of continuity -- like people who shaped big national events were also just people who sat in booths, ate steaks, talked with friends, lived normal moments in the same places you're standing now. California has a lot of that because modern American history overlaps so directly with everyday spaces here. This placed crossed off every single checkmark: local, peaceful, quality, friendly, and historic. Such a unique place and vibe. From cowboy to presidential history, this place can't get anymore special. We got the filet mignon and ribeye with Mac n cheese, baked potato and mashed potatoes.. and tried every steak butter/sauce with our favorite being the peppercorn sauce. A new favorite for sure, glad we got to experience this place!!

This was my first time, as part of a 30+ size group of friends and it was a very positive experience. My table's server, Yvette was warm and attentive as she took our orders. We all skipped appys and went for a variety of entrees. Mine was a special: flat iron steak, done to medium. It was well seasoned and full of beefy goodness. I didn't use any sauces as it didn't need it. My friends ordered a variety of things, including prime rib, a patty melt, a sirloin steak and salmon, and all were quite happy with their orders except for a couple of comments that the salmon was a bit overcooked and a little dry. Desserts were cheesecake and Gizmo, both delish. All in all, the restaurant took great care of our group and we were quite happy. Lastly, our server waived the corkage fee for our table as our service was a little slow, which I thought was quite generous. Well done, TOS, well done.

I like how they are on Open Table and you can make a reservation super easily through the app. Upon arriving, we got sat quickly and noticed that they were training new servers. Here is what I ordered: Flank Steak: I always get my steaks medium rare, and I am always impressed with how perfectly they cook the steak. I think the flank steak here is so well seasoned and perfectly cooked. For $60, it is a bit pricey, but you are honestly getting what you pay for! Mac & Cheese: They have shareable sides here, so we chose to go for the mac & cheese. Honestly, not too impressed by this side dish as it was a bit dry for my liking and not cheesy enough. Brussel and Burrata: This appetizer is soo good. I love the crispiness of the brussel sprouts and the toast. It was a bit sweet and slightly salty, by favorite flavor combo! I have gotten this several times now, and it never disappoints. Overall, I usually have a great experience here. If I am looking for a nicer place to eat at, I would not want to deal with Mastros, Flemmings, or those other well known steakhouses. Hanna's is local and has been my preference. I love how they also give you a free butter cake if you are celebrating something. Huge scoop of ice cream and the butter cake has a delicious crispy to it. I am definitely returning for the next special occassion or celebration!
