Fish and chips came with one thin piece of fish yet cost more than the same meal at Denny's. Certainly wasn't worth the $16.00 it cost.

We ordered a burrito, fries and drinks - a Manhattan for my wife and a chocolate martini with Kettle One and crème de cacao for me. My wife's drink was to her liking, but the chocolate martini tasted like there was coffee liqueur in it. Since I didn't know when our waitress would appear again, I told the first person we saw - a young man - that I couldn't drink anything with coffee because of the caffeine, and that I needed it remade. He took it back to redo. While we were waiting, one of the pool players dropped a very loud f-bomb when he missed a shot. Then a young child began crying very loudly. The young man came back with the remade drink, and the coffee taste was gone. After it had been over 45 minutes I had to ask what looked like the manager what had happened to our burrito and fries. She went back to check, and our food finally appeared. The burritos were long on rice and short on carne asada, something we couldn't know until we started eating. At some point our original waitress came back, and my wife told her we had to send back my first drink because of the coffee ingredient. She denied any coffee-containing spirit was used, and walked away. We never saw her again. I had to ask the manager for an itemized ticket, since the ones we had were sign for a total amount only, with no itemized detail. Since the original waitress had closed out our ticket right after we ordered and had given us our check, we paid and left. No tip was left. If you want a properly-mixed drink, be prepared to explicitly request every ingredient. Better still, don't expect great drinks or food at this place - stay away. There are lots of other choices in Las Vegas NM.

A girl met us at the door with menus and let us know to order at the counter. We ordered and sat down. Food came out quick. We shared the Queso Dip - it was good flavor, little spicy. I didn't love the texture of the cheese, kind of gritty, but the flavor was great and chips great. I got Barbacoa Taco and my dad got a classic taco. They were good. Mine a little dry but put a lil queso on there and that was perfect. Loved the tortilla they use. One thing I didn't like, the kitchen had their music BLASTING, could hear that better than the dinning room music. Very overstimulating with two very different types of music going.

Not because of the atmosphere. Not because of the location. Because of Katya. Katya is not my favorite bartender. She is my favorite human being. I've spent enough time in bars to know when someone is good at their job. Katya operates on an entirely different level. She can take what feels like sixteen orders at once, remember every single one, deliver them with absolute precision, keep the entire room moving, somehow do the math in her head, and still make every customer feel like they're the only person sitting at the bar. The basement bar itself is exactly what a great dive should be; a shithole. Heavy hobo stab vibes upon entry, including Katya. Smell: multiple buttholes farting at once. Climate control: sweaty patron dependent. Lighting: liability. TV: playing a rotation of trash 80s DVDs . If business schools were smart, they'd study her. If hospitality groups were smart, they'd clone her. If Santa Fe has any sense at all, they'll do whatever it takes to keep her exactly where she is. Cash only, so come prepared. And bring plenty of it, because she deserves every penny. Katya must be protected at all costs.

The vibe hits you the moment you walk through the door. It is a sharp modern southwest aesthetic mixed with just the right amount of neon glow. It feels current but totally fits the landscape. The drinks are well curated and excellent. They run a short draft list that features some fantastic local and regional beers, always poured with a clean head that shows they actually care about line maintenance. But honestly, the cocktails are where the creativity shines. The White Buffalo is my absolute favorite order here. It is smooth, smoky, and perfectly balanced. As for the food, they are batting a thousand. I have yet to find a single miss on the menu. The Vito Burger is an absolute powerhouse of a sandwich, but the kitchen shows serious range with the tacos and even the ravioli. Everything comes out tasting fresh and deeply flavorful. Now, the service can definitely run a little on the slow side. It is just the general pace of the town, though, so you adjust your internal clock, relax, and realize there is no need to rush. The real jackpot for us during our last trip was catching live music right there in the lounge. We got to spend the evening watching The Rudy Boy Experiment, and they completely blew the roof off the place with that gritty, soulful blues rock. There is something special about sitting back with people you love, a killer drink, great food, and watching a band that genuinely knows how to work a room. Borrachos just gets the formula right.

The first time we came, we had a delicious cheese & charcuterie plate with all the fixins, including a spicy jam I asked to take to-go when we were done. Evan thoughtfully topped it off and put it in a small container. Wines were delicious--the hubs and I each ordered a flight, he a "refreshing whites" flight and I a mix n match situation (also whites, but with bubbly selections as well). The grandparents got their drinks by the glass and the kiddo was happy to have water and snacks. The ambiance is cool, both literally and figuratively....it was so pleasant to come in from the summer heat into this stylish and AC'd spot featuring local artists' work on the walls, and the hand soap in the bathroom also felt artisan and special. Individual hand towels to dry off hands after washing as well. The second time we came in it was just my husband and myself, and Evan gave us the royal treatment once again. There were other patrons and he graced every party with the same attentiveness and expertise. We each ordered a flight, and when Evan was knowledgeably explaining the wines we selected, it made me crave and decide to ask for a glass of bubbly. He went above and beyond to bring us a sampling of bubbles on the house! What?! Definitely will be back if we are ever in the area again and we highly recommend this place. Definitely the best bar we visited in Santa Fe…read more When we arrived there was still seating at the bar so we promptly sat ourselves there. We ordered a charcuterie and cheese board which was much larger than expected and had plenty of local options. I started with a See You At Dusk, which was a combo of Melleti, souchu, balasmic, ginger and walnut. I found it to be a very flavorful drink that paired well with the board. I next tried a Bywater which was rum, falernum, genepy and Averna. It was a very deep and rich cocktail which I also enjoyed. The bartender was very friendly and offered us small samples of a few unusual items they stock. Overall a very fun experience.

Martin insisted the Dark Winds cocktail integrate even more beets- so many beets that the mezcal itself was stifled like a flame under shovelfuls of fecund loam and that homey odor of fresh earth itself somehow overpowering a smoke-scented spirit- when this titan of imagination demanded more beet! in his signature drink, did he bang his closed fist against the table in passion? Did tears of certainty spark his eyes as he sat under those moody lights, standing firm that yes So Long, See You Tomorrow needs not one or two but three different types of sesame- what did he feel? What did intend to bankroll? And the sickest joke of all- the Bellow's Breath- a bone broth mocktail like some crystal cup of soup. Was that beverage intended to pogo stick my friend off the proverbial wagon into the depths of glugging Long Island ice teas just to feel something familiar again? Because it did. And my heart aches for that friend but I too would lose my mind if I were to stare into such a void and see whatever it is that stares back. Was this menu the vision of a team- a baffling Frankenweenie invented by committee- or the secret wish of one troubled mind? I see it all so clearly and yet I can't help but doubt my own memory. That many beets on such an expensive cocktail menu? Who salts blueberries? This total disregard for the green chile cult that runs this city like a delicious cabal? Had no drink technician ever walked from front door to car, inhaled the piñon perfumed air outside and thought, I can do something with that. I don't know what happened and I don't think I ever will but I know I did not like it. Also the bartenders were vacant and so confused that human beings wanted to order cocktails in a cocktail bar.
