I was praying it was the battery & not something more serious, which seemed confirmed when AAA sent a tow truck that gave us a jump (& then it started). I live in Kingsburg & with the holiday, the local mechanic was closed. 4 Runners typically keep things more complicated, so I knew I needed a more serious mechanic to replace the battery than going to the local auto parts store. Enter the Pep Boys. I called to make sure that they would be able to help me. I spoke to Vince, the manager. He told me to come over, but that they were starting to get busy, so I needed to be prepared to be there for a little while. I went straight over & they were indeed QUITE busy! Vince was AWESOME. Seriously. Like, I'm sure when he leaves work, he puts on his cape & mask & helps people in need. They had my battery in stock (huge blessing) & he told me that it could be a couple hours, but he was hoping for sooner. I took that opportunity to walk over to the Hobby Lobby across the parking lot. 45 minutes later, yes 45 MINUTES, I got the text that my vehicle was ready. Not only were they able to see me on NO notice, but I didn't even have time to enjoy their clean, cool, & very comfortable waiting room (filled with snacks & coffee), because I was still at the Lobby when they pinged me. Also, I'll be honest, I was expecting the pice tag to be at least $75 more than it was. The guys in the garage were friendly & respectful. All the people that I interacted with in the office were so helpful & kind. I have never worked with Pep Boys before, but I absolutely will again & can't recommend them enough. I'm incredibly grateful for Vince & his entire team, they saved me on this holiday weekend when I needed saving.

Went in for an oil change/tire rotation. They didn't even do it. I have a Tacoma, my back driver…read moreside wheel has scuff marks on the rims from an accident and I had purposely left one bolt loose on my scrape pan. When I got the truck back, my tires were still in the same position, scrape pan wasn't even removed and my oil level was still low/dirty. Do not waste your time here. Do not waste your money here. They do not do any maintenance here. They just make you sit in the waiting room for an hour while they do whatever is they do.

I had use my own gas to go purchase my own oil filter because they didn't have the one my car needs. This isn't the first time I've brought my car here but this was a first. I paid over $5 for a filter from where they told me to go buy one and they are only discounting me $1.70 for supplying my own filter even though there isn't one filter on their shelves less than $7. Apparently fram went out of business and they don't have the filter for my car. I can't be the only 2025 Tahoe that comes in for oil changes. And why should the consumer have to pick up the slack!! The oil change is over $60 and they can't discount me for money out of my pocket to get an oil filter?!!! This Walmart does stuff like this all the time. Might be worth the gas to go to Visalia where they are more consumer friendly. And better customer service.

A guy walked out and asked if I had an appointment and I said no and he said he wouldn't be able to take my car until this afternoon. I looked around and literally nobody was waiting. He said he had to be in the shop because he was shorthanded, but he wasn't doing anything. One guy was in tire side working on a car and there was one more waiting for tires but NONE waiting for oil. He refused service so I went 25 miles out of my way to go to a different Walmart for service.
