Typically I love going to food halls but in my opinion TRADE was lackin in so many areas. First of all, parking is such a huge issue. Its all about location! I think they made the right choice opening up in Irvine because businesses typically flourish in this area, but they chose the wrong plaza. TRADE shares its parking with plenty of other eateries so plan your trip around high volume hours. I think having visited the Anaheim Packing district and 4th street market in Santa Ana really set the bar high. Once I got inside, I was a bit bummed because I felt that this place lacked character. The walls were bland and they didn't have music playing like the other eateries do. The food choices were just okay. Some honorable mentions are Dos Chinos and Two birds. Overall, if you havent been to an open public market, I would say start off with Trade. Then try all the other places after because this place just didnt have the spark i was looking for. read more

TRADE is the place to eat and drink in Irvine. I love everything about this place. They have variety of food vendors you can choose from and their central bar is absolutely fun and great. The bar customer service is amazing. Ask for Chris to make his special drinks. No matter what you might be craving, I believe that this spot will cater to whatever you might want. From vegan food to junk food this spot really kicks it up a notch by offering a wide assortment of foods and desserts and do so in a very localized area. I personally bought food from Two Birds and Dos Chinos, and I have to say, both these spots really go HAM on the portions, no pun intended. AFter looking around the food court I would say it is definitely worth going if you do not mind spending a prettier penny, but It's totally worth it because the portions are gargantuan. I like the ambiance of the place as they have a lot of art along the walls as well as a bar which you can lunge around if you want to just drink, hangout, or just watch a game. read more

TRADE is a great good court. Some shade and sun. A good amount of tables and chairs in the middle of the food court. When you enter to your right there is some shaded seating. All the food vendors have great quality and tasting food. The types range from vegan/ vegetarian, fish, meat, poke, and dessert! The only CON is the parking is awful, especially when crowded! BUT I discovered visitor parking across the street is not to bad for about $1.50 per 15 min which you can pay by card just don't lose your parking ticket or pay $$$ for the loss. A waffle pop Porkbelly salad It's really random being in a strip mall but once inside the tiny food court with an open air feel and a bar to one side it's really. Nice and you forget you're in a strip mall. But here is really limited seating but luckily we found a nice couple to share a table with but there were definitely people standing around with food looking for a place to sit. This place is really cute! Came here for lunch around 2 on a Friday and there were tables open and no lines. The only issue I had was that all the tables weren't fully shaded and it was a scorching hot day. I got a chicken sandwich from Two Birds which was $10, and it was so good, even though the price was eh. My friend got some other things and they said it was pretty good as well. There's a bar and couches under a shaded area. I would definitely come back, this place is dope! All these foods within one food court is so convenient. read more

Came here on a Sunday, early evening. It wasn't as crowded as I would expected it to be. There's a lot of food choices to pick from. Wish they had more dessert spots though. Worst parking lot I've ever experienced. There is a poor layout with several dead ends. They have a "security" guard on duty monitoring that reserved spots for the businesses there that some bring in any money, like the photo place and the men's salon. I've witnessed several accidents from people trying to back up on the one way dead end lot. It's shame the complex wasn't more well designed because there are a couple really great places to eat/drink-Hiro Nori and Krisp. read more

Mediocre at best. Lots of trendy places like this opening up, I do like the concept and was excited to try it. One thing I do like is that everyone can get their own food and there's variety. We tried the fish taco plate, mac & cheese clam chowder, chips and guacamole, fried chicken salad. Nothing was amazing, everything was pretty pricey too. I tried Portside for the first time. We wanted to try different things so we ordered the clam chowder, the elote corn and the ahi tuna plate. The clam chowder was decent with a good amount of clams and potatoes and it came with a side of toasted bread for dipping . The elote corn was not palatable and had a rancid smell to it . The server claimed that it was the cotija cheese but it smelled and tasted very strange like how oil that has been left open to air and turns rancid . They remade it for me without the cotija cheese but it still smelled and tasted strange. I took it with me hoping that I could add flavor to it but the odd smell was too strong and it actually tasted spoiled or old . The ahi tuna platter was average and the fish was severely over cooked . I would not return to this eatary again and would not recommend these items. read more

I guess 4th Street Market closed down and got replaced with TRADE? The inside itself is very well-kept and clean. I like how its outside seating and its right in the middle of all the food vendors . One place I recognize from 4th Street is Dos Chinos. They also used to have Pig Pen Delicacy but it recently got replaced by a hamburger joint. They do have a lot of options here but very mediocre ones. My school is close by so I come down here for lunch a lot. I've been to many of the booths here and most of their products are oily and greasy. Not to mention, its pricey for what you're getting. I have tried Sweet Combfort, Dos Chinos, Portside, Megadon, ButterLeaf and Two Birds. So many places but not that satisfied with any of them. Now I just opt for HiroNori Ramen and KRISP for lunch which are right next to the TRADE center. read more

The food hall craze is taking over Orange County! It seems like there is a new food hall concept being opened every month now. This center used to be pretty whatever before Trade opened up. I believe it was even completely closed on weekends since the surrounding businesses were also not open. Now Trade has put this center back on the map. I like the layout of the open air seating and the bar next to it. It's like an upscale food court with added character. There is a good selection of different cuisines and certain food-restricted accommodating options. I first came here with a vegan friend. Me, being a carnivore, we were both still able to get things we loved at completely different places. We both appreciated that Trade provided that option. In comparison with other Food Hall concepts, Trade has much better parking too! (I'm lookin at you APD) read more

After 18 months of waiting it's finally open. It's awesome to have a place to grab some drinks right across the street from work. The true food gem of TRADE is Gyro King!!! I went today and I'll definitely be going back. The BEST station was definitely sweet bird, it's a bit more hidden. BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH EVER. definitely worth the $9, I wish I would have gotten the double but I wanted to try more food. I got some fries from the pig pen and they were okay.. it had hot cheetos dust, mac & cheese, bacon. Too dry for me but i'm sure others would enjoy it. We also got asada from dos chinos! It was amazing, definitely tasted like mex-asian. We also tried the station with the waffles on a stick, the churro one and it was amazing. I honestly came here cause I thought it would similar to The Lab in Costa Mesa but it was super tiny and nothing to really look at. I was expecting it to be cuter/bigger but it still has a cool concept and it's still aesthetically pleasing. Not to mention I didn't have any trouble finding parking and I went on a Saturday afternoon. Inside the food court there are about 6 different places that sell food and there's also a bar. There are tables in the middle to eat at, and the bar has some seating as well. If I'm not mistaken, the bar has a happy hour, even on weekends! It's definitely a cool hangout spot for food and drinks. Pet friendly too, so bring your puppers! read more

I am writing a separate review for the restaurant I went to, as they deserve a higher review than this. But, ugh, what a disappointment. I visited here at 1 PM on a weekday. I can't imagine what it looks like during actually lunch rush hour around 12 or 12:30. Parking is horrendous and I made several loops before finding a spot; bad for someone with a 1/2 hour lunch break. The trade center itself was incredibly warm (yes it was a very hot day), but still, should provide better ventilation or air conditioning. Made for an uncomfortable lunch especially since my food was hot. Just tired of these places that get built with no regards for how the customer will experience it. read more

Such a cute little escape place from the world - very hipster. It has a very open feel with half the plaza with no roof so very breezy. It was structured in a square with different food vendors on all side and all the tables in the middle - I like the set up a lot. It has the similar concept as the packing district where all the savory food and trendy desserts are all in one spot surrounded by cute decorations. There are also plenty of parking - it's a big lot. I think the downfall of this place is having limited vendors which I hope they will expand in the future. During busy time like lunch or past 7pm, it might be hard to find seats since people seem to sit here and hangout, catching up with friends. read more

This is a very unique food court. Great unique food selections. I would say it's a good lunch or Sunday late afternoon place. Unless, you like to drink there is a great bar as well. 4 stars instead of 5 only because it is a very small venue. We had fried chicken at two birds it was excellent and sweet comforts waffle treat was great too. Can't wait to try some other places as well. Dig it! Everyone gets what they want to eat, Chix sandwich, bacon BBQ cheese fries, gyro with falafel, fish tacos with nachos and libations from the full bar. Desert caramel swirl in a waffle cup. OG chicken is huge, slaw, pickles and house hot sauce turn the heat up. Tacos excellent, guacamole nachos. BBQ fries good, but toppings didn't blend together and sauce confused the flavor. Gyro meat was, well gyro meat not my favorite. Cocktails and brew from the bar spot on. Ice cream and sweet waffle cone finished off a great yelp fine. read more
