I love Trader Joe's! It's one of my favorite places to shop. Lots of good food and wonderful pleasant service.

The cheapest natural food store around! Given Bellingham's proximity to Canada and cheaper food, there are LOTS of Canadian shoppers. Combine that with all the American shoppers this Trader Joe's is often packed with people! Many of the specialty food items here are somewhat to much cheaper than other grocers in the area. Plenty of gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, and organic foods. The booze selection is delightfully affordable ($2.49 for wine that's not terrible). Only downsize is that no aisles are labeled, and some like-items are placed on opposite sides of the store. CAUTION: The parking lot is a maelstrom of cars and customers. Put down your cell phone and latte before entering and hope you don't have a collision. read more

Best sourdough ever, from a sourdough bread afficionado! Live near Vancouver, BC, so every time we go across the border, we stop to get our bread and other reasonably priced organic and other tasty food. Staff are always friendly and helpful! read more

Love/hate Trader Joes. The food and snacks are dependable and don't have a bunch of additives. BUT, the parking is horrible, I've been yelled at, inside is no better, the aisles are jammed and the lines are more then long. It's not worth it for me as a local to even bother going there. read more

Love the store. The selection of imported specialty cheeses is very good and the prices for them are a lot lower than I have seen anywhere else. I like that many of TJ's products are free of preservatives and additives, they also carry a good selection of uncured "no nitrate" meats and cold cuts. But if you plan to go there on a weekend be early, otherwise the shelves may be empty. read more

I was looking forward to having a TJ's coming to Bellingham. I was very disappointed after my first visit! There is a non-stop battle to find a parking spot. About 85% of the cars are Canadian. If you're lucky enough to find a spot & get into the store, you feel like you're taking your life in your hands. The isles are crowded, people are rude and won't move, and honestly, the selection is poor. The store is way to small for a college town plus all the Canadians, who make the shopping experience painful. We tried going at different times of the day and there is no good time. Its ALWAYS the same. It's been 10 months since our last visit and we won't be going back until they expand which I don't see happening. read more

It's like stepping into a food wonderland. Always delicious, often organic, often healthy, usually cheap, countless vegetarian options (but there's an entire meat section too, don't worry), about fifteen different kinds of hummus, even more different kinds of cheese, free coffee samples every single day, smiley and attractive cashiers, rare foods, exotic foods (have I mentioned CHEAP?), tons of super tasty items unique to the Trader Joe's brand, frozen berries, Indian naan, coconut water....just everything. Everything. Once in a blue moon I'll go to a different grocery store, but my preference 99% of the time is good old TJ's. read more

Awesome value in fresh produce, cheese and wine! For some reason people think this store is expensive(??) Not only are the employees at Trader Joe's wonderfully knowledgeable, they're quick to assist you in any way they can. From recommendations and preorders to offering suggestions on ways to make your dollar go further! There is always something truly delightful in the frozen isle that is BOTH healthy and wholesomely filling as dinner for a busy professional. Their wines are a true delight in taste and cost-many are exclusive! Grab a French red or pair their amazing Spanish Tapa Cheese Trio with a bold Malbec from Spain or Argentina. Their salad mixes are flavorful (Sorrento Mix, mmm) and make planning a big dinner easy. Some even come with their own additions- Pepitas, cranberries, blue cheese! Their sushi selection is a great quick eat too! If you're looking for a gift of sweets or artesian level chocolates, you will be in heaven, and not because you died from the cost! Awesome, awesome value. Constantly offering products that are unavailable at other stores. I absolutely adore the Plantain Chips, especially when needing the Paleo crunch fix. Pair with the Mediterranean hummus and call it perfection. They have insanely marvelous health food, and are completely dairy/gluten free friendly. Can't say good enough things. Oh yes! Don't forget their seasonal offerings. I've won many a heart with their pumpkin cinnamon rolls. Shh, our secret. Go early or late to avoid mayhem in the parking lot! read more

Although there are a few specialty items that I like to get at Trader Joe's, and I was very excited when they came to town, the volume is way more than they obviously predicted. Trying to get a parking space, any space, even if you are willing to walk a bit, is sometimes impossible. And then when you go inside sometimes the shelves are bare. You cannot go in there with a list of things you need for dinner or you will be frustrated when they are out of stock on about half of it. That is, if you were able to find a parking space in the first place. Next time I'll just go to Haggen first. I know I can get what's on my list. read more

I'm a real faithful costumer and always buy your product because is fresh, the sushi is my favorite but I just bought some this weekend September 5th and it was absolutely disgusting, rice was old and hard almost not eatable, I spend $25 that went in to the garbage. read more

I went to find chick peas, but the only beans they had were canned. This is not the place to shop if you want to make things from scratch. Very crowded and long lines at the check outs. I did like the local touch of having neighborhood streets signs for each register. read more

We love Trader Joe's but one product and item we bought there blows disgusting chunks of badness all over itself and that is the Buono Vita frozen meatballs. We wanted to believe they were authentic in their "Italianish" packaging, but I can't tell you how bad it is...the smell and the taste totally grossed both of us out and while we ate about 3 each, very quickly we both regretted it. These meatballs are small in size, like about the size of walnuts but that's not the problem. The problem is they are NASTY! They ruined a perfectly good marinara sauce my wife had prepared. The next day we both had diarrhea and we've thrown the uneaten meatballs plus what was still frozen in the bag in the trash. read more

4 stars for TJ's itself, awesome stuff at reasonable prices. The lost star is for the parking lot which is absolute HELL pretty much all day due to the influx of Canadians. As another reviewer mentioned, it doesn't seem right that it's so difficult for a LOCAL to shop at their LOCAL store because of all the people coming across the border. read more

I love the Trader Joe's in Bham. Great people, great selections, and a fun place to grocery shop.

The reason I do not give TJ's 5 stars is because the James Street Store is like shopping in a sardine can. It is too small to accommodate the hundreds of folks that come to shop at that location. It really is a frenzy in there and it could it avoided if the TJ owners would invest in a bigger space. I find that my friends and I really avoid TJ's because of the insanity one has to go through from parking to navigating your shopping cart. read more

This Trader Joes is the best! The staff are usually so friendly, and I love the food. The prices are great too, I can always calculate exactly how much money I'm going to spend there. Parking can sometimes be an issue, but I just go prepared to drive around the parking lot a couple of times before finding a spot sometimes :) read more

I am a definite fan of Trader Joe's. I love the foods that I can get there and the low cost wine is a must! The only problem I have ever had with the store was the parking lot... wish the spaces were just a little wider. Maybe if they expand??? read more

It's a Trader Joes, with typical selection of mostly good quality, decently priced goods. But it's almost unshoppable due to its incredibly bad location -- in a strip mall with Wholly Inadequate (Patent Pending) parking, most of which is jammed, constantly, by cars with blue and white license plates. It's become a mini version of the Bham Costco experience: So crowded so often with Canadian shoppers that it's really not worth it. And this from someone who waited for years to get a TJ's in town. I am Canadian but used to live in Columbus, OH and shop at the local Trader Joe's. We miss it greatly since we moved back to Toronto. However, I have a question for the Canadians who shop across the border: aside from alcohol, is there no restriction? Can we just go and buy whatever we want, and have no problems at the border? Do we need to declare it? We wouldn't be staying in the US for 24 hours, to be able to claim an exemption. How does it work for you? I am very excited that Trader Joe's is coming close to the Niagara Falls border crossing, but I'd like to know a little more about the logistics of shopping for groceries across the border before I rejoice! read more

Great prices! Fantastic selection of wines & beers. We regularly buy their canned dog food, frozen won ton soup, iceberg lettuce & roma tomatoes. Recently other stores, most notably The Market at Lakeway, Sunset Cost Cutter & Haggen, raised the price of iceberg lettuce into the $2.50-$3.50 range due to bad weather in Arizona & California. Trader Joe's kept it at 99-cents! No price gouging for them. If you're looking for organic and healthful foods this is s store you must visit. read more
