I've been going to this Stop and Shop for 12 years and I like it because the same employees have…read morebeen there all this time, and they are all pretty nice, even if many are on the elderly side. I support a business that doesn't discriminate against seniors. For a while there was an issue with empty shelves and not many customers, but when I was there this Friday afternoon, there was a brisk number of customers and the shelves were decently stocked. The main complaint I have is that there was only a single checkout line open. They're relying too heavily on the self checkout but they're going to end up being a convenience store if they do that. When you do a lot of shopping you need a checkout clerk and a bagger to help.

I've started shopping here in 2002 so I've had a pretty good feel of the foods they serve and what kind of service is provide f here. Very high quality food and a very high standards of customer service. People come dressed as they are , casual, work attire, or street attire. I am not saying that there aren't but I have not seen a brown person come in here. If they do it's not often. I normally buy the white fish sandwich, it spreads like a tuna fish sandwich. They also serve delicious hot foods, gourmet foods and various salads. Off and on as any business expects, workers come and go. I've always had pleasant interactions with the employees and satisfactory service up until 4/4/2026. Twenty Four years of exemplary service, says a lot about any organization that has high standards. I go in to get food from the deli section. A lady with a Spanish background says " how may I help you. I told her that I wanted a half pound of gigante Beans and a half pound of shrimp. She scoops up the gigante beans with no problem, now she goes for everything that I didn't ask for. I saw her scooping up three bean salad. Whoa whoa, I want shrimp she says you don't want this? I repeated , I want shrimps! She scoops up shrimp salad, me again! No, I want shrimp. She puts the shrimp salad back and starts fussing and making a scene talking in Spanish and the co worker is practically glued to her side. That's how close they were. I guess she didn't know what s h r I m p was. But I guess he helped her, I didn't understand She finally gives me shrimp but it's pouring over the container and she has to squish it down with the lid. I have to say, I'm not trying to offend anyone here, it's just what happened. Talking about no analytical skills or the ability to comprehend what I'm telling you. It's like going to McDonald's and asking for a sausage biscuit and they ask you do you want sausage egg and cheese biscuit. Nonsense! So she rings it up on the scale and tags it as smoked salmon and charges half of $29.99. I returned to the store, looked for the price, and asked the cashier what did the deli clerk sell me. He asked, who help me, and I said well since you asked. I felt like a snitcher, I let all of the beans out the bag, sir she did this, that, and ain't it is. (Southern vernacular). The cashier refunded $1.50 and apologized profusely. In all the years I've been buying here, I have never dealt with any employee that felt so complacent with repeatedly getting an order wrong and have the audacity to complain, for the lack of her ability to understand. I will say, I'll go back again and again because the food is really good and they have vegan options, I just won't go to her and if she's the only one I see, I'll ask for someone else to help me or I'll skip it for that day! But it won't phase me, I'll still... Inspire more, Yelp more!

I placed an order online for delivery well before 9am this morning. The earliest option for…read moredelivery that I was given was between 3-4pm. At 5:45pm I called the store and was told they were behind schedule and that someone would call me. It is now 7:43pm and I never received a call. I did track the order around 3pm and noted it said my order was on its way. At 5:30pm my stays changed to "order received". At 7:40pm it said "order canceled". I did not cancel my order. They don't seem to be taking calls because I have numerous times, just to be placed on hold and then hung up on. I understand they are busy with the impending blizzard tomorrow, but a simple phone call or text message would have gone a long way. I do not have a car and relied on them to deliver my groceries. Their customer service skills are severely lacking. Now, I want to know when they will refund the money that was immediately taken out of my bank account as soon as the order was placed. As of now, I paid for services NOT RENDERED. Moving forward I will shop at ShopRite. They need to do better!!!!

I was to tired after working all day, I was drained and thinking how much I didn't want to deal with lines, of any sort, so I headed straight to the apartment instead. Good night! Passing Shop Rite today, I thought, hmmm! I can pick up lunch now and take it straight to work versus picking it up after work, let it stay in transit until the next day. 6:35 I'm like, wait! I spoke with my elite Veronica about this and how she influenced and inspire me to Shop Rite! There's the pun. It's amazing how it always find its way in.. the pun! I swiftly perused the aisles, headed straight to where I needed to be. I've shopped here every week since 2002 until I relocated and shopping became sporatic in 2018 due to a change in location and taking a different route. So, I looked at the prices, shown in the pictures, I was saying to my self, I'm not THAT hungry, I can wait until I get home. Taking a closer look, it's about half the price. My lunch is in the pictures, it was very satisfied because I spent $24.23 and that is for 6 days I had a whole heap of hummus on that sandwich. It would have been a better sandwich if I would have picked up the turkey breast. I normally spend $20 a day for breakfast and lunch- $120 for six days. I fixed my own breakfast. I gave three star because there is room for improvement, like having the correct meat in the correct spot. I was looking at turkey breast, reach in that section, while putting a lot of trust in the merchandiser to have the right sandwich meat as marked. Pro tip- go early there's no lines and only a handful of shoppers. My day is complete.. Inspire more,Yelp more!

For one reason or another, I didn't write a review at that time. But I found myself here the other day so I figured I would share my experience. I'm not a ShopRite person, I lean more towards Wegmans and DeCicco for my grocery shopping needs. However, my dad was making a chocolate cake for the holiday weekend and needed some cocoa. Not just any cocoa, but Hershey's Cocoa Powder. This specific brand was needed because he was making a Hershey's chocolate cake using a recipe specifically from Hershey. Since he mentioned he previously purchased the cocoa from here, off I went. The ShopRite in NewRo is convenient for several reasons - it's right off 95, there's plenty of parking, and it's large with a selection to match. Upon entry I went straight for the baking needs and lo and behold the Hershey's cocoa was there. The whole process was so seamless I was checked out and back in my car before I knew it. That is, not before having a mini concert in my head to Pump Up the Jam playing on the speaker. Overall, I had a solid experience at the NewRo ShopRite. It's not close to me so I don't see myself as a regular, but it's good to know there's a solid supermarket in the area that comes through in a pinch.
