My friends and family help me get groceries when I need them from TJ. They did change the frozen spinach which was disturbing. Prices for nuts are higher than Whole Foods 365 Brand. It's gotta be their spanakopita I'm after. I overdosed on it. I've always purchased the shopping bags. Remember when they were a $1.00 haha? My current passion is the totes. I have a love/not crazy about relationship with Trader Joe's (I could never hate it) only because when it's busy there, my anxiety spikes and I generally have to leave. However, if it's not too crowded, I love it. The best thing about it is the high quality foods at reasonable prices. Because they move so much product, everything is always fresh (except the frozen stuff, which is frozen). I love the salads and the fruits and it's always fun to discover some unique find to try. Sometimes it's a hit, sometimes a miss but the stakes are low because nothing they have will break the bank. Staff here are always friendly and efficient, whether showing you where the line starts, checking you out or letting you know if they have more chicken caesar salads. After work, like 5:30 is an absolute zoo but if you can go at off times, it's actually a pleasant experience that doesn't make my blood pressure spike. read more

Maybe bec of the way the shelves/areas were set up - like the fruits/veggies were in a small area, more compact, as opposed to the long shelvings in the others. But, I found items that I didn't notice before. I even asked a staff member if all locations carry the same stuff. I only planned on buying a few items but ended up getting more to try. So this TJ is located across the street from me. I come for my groceries religiously. Per their return policy they take basically everything back. The guy who came up to do the return (I think his name was Cristian not spelled like Christian ) started checking every date on my return after scanning half and coming across a mirepoix I was sold expired but didn't know.... I have returned items before without issue. It felt racially motivated bc his demeanor was just like too serious and he looked like he was judging me then said "we can't take expired items"- I was sold day of expiration products and didn't see the expiry bc I assume it's fine if on the shelf (silly I guess). Why were they on the shelves? TJ has a generous policy and I don't take advantage of it. But I went three days ago to pick up things and didn't check the expiry. So I was sold day of foods and one item was just old and unrotated. I didn't like his attitude it made my blood boil. And he spoke to me like I was a bad kid. I hate pulling the race card but going through every item I'm returning for dates after the fact was EXCESSIVE and the only time I've experienced this at any Trader Joe's ever. This is my neighborhood TJ so he won't stop me from coming as I love the brand! But he did entirely too much. read more

I do my food shopping here with family once a week. Whatever time you go it will be crowded and the lines are always long but they move fast. I always grab all the snacks because they are my weakness. I tell myself "it's healthy because it's Trader Joe's" Lol!! The meat section is limited. If you get fresh salmon - make sure you cook it the day of or after or else it goes bad quick. I wish the parking was better but if you go later there's meter parking. They close at 9 PM. read more

This Trader Joe's in LIC is conveniently located by the train station. It is typically busy all week and weekends, but I do find that the line goes by pretty fast. There is a good variety of options from produce, to meats, to non perishables. I do have to reiterate that it is a busy spot, so I do not recommend coming here if you have to quick grab and go. read more

This is my go-to Trader Joe's location due to proximity. It's decently stocked and spacious, and I'm typically able to find everything I'm looking for. On my last visit to TJ's I was happy to see that pasture raised eggs are back in stock, as there was a time recently where the egg aisle (and a decent amount of dairy products) were wiped out and never in stock. The staff here are extremely helpful and will go out of their way to show you where a certain product is, or to help you find something similar if an item is out of stock. The produce here is always fresh, and the meat and fish aisle has a wide variety to choose from. The cheese aisle is robust, and the frozen section is usually pretty well stocked. The line does get long sometimes but the employees here are really good about keeping things moving at a decent pace. read more

Really nice TJ location despite the strange triangular configuration. There's usually a little traffic jam in between the produce and frozen food section especially during peak hours because of the bottlenecking of the store layout. However, I love that it's so central with several bus lines and Court Sq-23rd St (E/G/M/7) station across the street. I'd definitely recommend coming here by public transit as parking can be a hit or miss on weekends. Before this new Trade Joe's store there was only one in North Queens (now there are three). The one one Metropolitan Ave was always a mad house, crowded , difficult to park and shop due to the narrow aisles. So finally a new TJs is a reason to celebrate and to visit. At this LIC store the aisles are wide and floor space is more than double the tiny store on Metropolitan Ave. Some notes about this store: -Parking is bad; go on early on Sunday when parking is free. -Lines are always long but moves very fast -Restrooms are not obvious (they are next to the service desk) read more

This Trader Joe's is another place that I keep skipping en route to work. A co-worker enticed me to stop bypassing and actually go inside since she's recently been feeding me yummy snacks from this TJ's, almost everyday. Trader Joe's on Jackson Ave. has so many fresh fruits, chips, candies, condiments etc. Today I bought a little of each of those items plus more-dark chocolate peanut butter cups, a fruit medley, sour cream and onion rings, teriyaki beef jerky, olive oil and sea salt popcorn, yogurt cups, corn chips and a jar of pineapple salsa. I spent less than forty dollars on all of these goodies. The shelves, fridges and aisles are full of quality food items and the lines move really quickly here. Super efficient and pleasant staff. This Trader Joe's is currently my go-to location in Queens. It is not the biggest Trader Joe's location but I get my groceries done here! This is a pretty busy location, sometimes even on weekdays and of course, the weekends are packed. Trader Joe's staff know how to control the crowd and lines down to a science. Stopped by here before returning back to my hotel. I found something here in New York that I hadn't seen in California. Peanut butter chocolate rice crispies OMG !!! Yum! Perfect individually packaged so you can put it in your pocket or purse when you need a bite size snack! I also found honeycomb covered in chocolate. I love honeycomb even though it was a big sweet. You can never go wrong with Trader Joes! The customer service is like no other anywhere whether I'm in NY, DC or wherever. I love the range of food. I literally just walk around and pick things like let me try for the price why not. There's always cool things every season to try and the staff will make recommendations too. Ambiance wise it's always clean. Even when it's busy and it seems like carts are almost gone staff are on it. Wipes are stocked to wipe of your cart. I have no issues with this location. This is my favorite of NYC b/c it's right off the 7 train and many Trader joes are a lil of a walk near Manhattan and I like to grab and go. I use to go there during lunch while working from home and now I go there before work or when traveling outside the city. The set up of the store is great and easy to find things through out the store even the occasional changes of the layout. This is a place I can go to multiple times a week to grab things especially for lunch or when I'm in the mood to cook. Everything is affordable and there's lots of variety whether you eat meat, veggies, non dairy, vegan whatever, there's something for you. NYC does not have the alcohol assortment I was spoiled with living outside NY but there are cider and things to try too. Again, outside of this being my favorite place is the it's right by the train 7 Court Quare stop. Everything is very affordable here and I like this location a lot, which is literally next to the 7 train station, Court Square. They carry frozen and baked goods, groceries, liquor, and also have a home goods selection. I usually get frozen lunch appetizer and entrees such as the Steamed Chicken and Vegetable Soup Dumplings, Vegetable Pad Thai, sesame orange, Chicken Shawarma Bowl, Chicken Tikka Masala, Spanish Style Rice, Black Bean and Cheese Taquitos, Bulgogi Fried Rice and Chicken, Chicken Burrito Bowl, and Cuban Style Citrus Garlic Bowl. These are the bowls I usually get off the frozen section so I can bring them to work. These lunch boxes are easy to microwave and very affordable and fresh. The good thing about Trader Joe's is that all their products are natural and some are organic without antibiotics, artificial flavoring and coloring that you find in other supermarkets. That's why I come here often to be healthy and when I need a detox. They have many different types of chips and the best one I usually buy is the ghost pepper! So delicious! I find them spicy but the spice level isn't that strong to the point you're crying or begging for milk! They also carry acerola, pineapple and probiotic, turmeric and other vitamin shots where you can detox your body. There are many cold cut sandwiches and burritos about $5 that you can grab and eat on the go. The convenience this supermarket brings is what drives a lot of people to come here. The line can be a bit long where it usually wraps around the whole supermarket during peak hours. I find the checkout system very cute and organized. The cashiers are behind wooden counters and they use paper bags. There is also a wall of tote and thermal bags that you have to purchase at a low price if you decide to not use the brown paper bags the supermarket offers. There are hand sanitizers at the entrance when you come in to sanitize your hands and shopping carts. There are 2 different sizes of shopping carts besides the red basket depending on how much you're going to shop. This place has affordable always fresh produce and place is constantly being restocked . Employees are always available to answer any question you may have and will stop what they're doing to either find on the floor or in the back room when you're looking for an item . Customer service deff seems to go above and beyond . Cashiers also pack as if it was their own grocery's , take pride in their job . The workers are all super friendly and attentive and take time to help you with any queries, even during the weekend rush. It took me a while to form opinions about where they put the Trader Joe's at this location. If you have a car, outside of sunday and later in the evening prior to close, don't do it. They did a good job with the space they have and they have much of what you would expect at a Trader Joe's. This is literally one of the best sources of grab and go Shishito Peppers in the area and they tend to be pretty fresh. Prepared Pizza dough (Crust) is also a reasonably priced consistent item. Trader Joe's Mini Chicken Tikka Samosas are also surprisingly tasty. Staples like Milk and Eggs tend to be priced well. read more

Omg I am so excited that they opened. The store is a little on the smaller side. Its nice to have options for the court square area. They have an awesome beer section. It was so cool that they were giving away bags today for the opening. The check out area was nice and organized. But it was very crowded. Of course the store was super clean because they just opened. They had a lot of items that I've never seen before. Its nice that they have different types of lox for bagels. The trader joe brand has cheap prices. I appreciated the milk section and the cost. Its literally right off the court square 7 train. Its located next to court square dinner. I'm not too sure what people are going to do for parking. Definitely don't come here by car unless your ready to wait hours to park. There is no parking what so ever unless you want to park illegally in the TD bank parking lot. I'm not sure how this spot is going to be at night time. I've been in this area over 30 years, it still gets sketchy at night. So just be prepared for that. Its way smaller than most trader joes tho. So if you have a one close to you don't bother. The prices are definitely a plus. There was a 8.5 IPA for $5, pretty shocking if you ask me. Some of the cashiers weren't wearing masks. Some people were allowed to just walk into the store without a mask. The bathroom is all the way in the front of the store near the checkout. I went during a weekday so the lines weren't too bad. The staff were really nice, friendly and welcoming. Customers were all asking questions on where the items were and the workers knew when the next shipment was coming in and etc. I was very impressed. The place was well arranged and the aisles were all clear. If I had a car I would buy more things, but since I was taking public transit, I had to be mindful of what I purchased. I wish there was a trader Joe's in my neighborhood as I would go there more often. If I'm ever in the area again, I would most certainly go back. read more

Love this location. It is right off the 7 train Court Sq stop; after you go down 2 flights of stairs, you turn the corner and TJ's is right there. Selection is decent - the only thing is there is no parking. I frequent this location a lot and supplement with visits to other locations if I don't see a desired item in stock. Weekends are mayhem, and it is also very busy after work but the line moves along nicely. I truly love Trader Joe's - I never used to buy frozen meals but some of their prepared dishes are really delicious. My faves are their Thai green curry, Korean beef bulgogi, kung pao chicken. When news first broke about a Trader Joe's opening in LIC, I was ECSTATIC! AND it was going to be a 6 minute walk from my apartment. Then cue the pandemic, delays, and an apartment move, and now I'm several subway stops away instead of a quick walk. The delay pushed the opening to about a month after my move so I never got to enjoy the closeness of my own TJs. Still being in the same borough as a TJs is good enough for me. I'm in LIC enough anyways. Before this location opened, I frequented the Murray Hill TJs, which I'd say is comparable crowd wise. This is a smaller location but they still have a lot to shop. There's all the standard sections like floral, produce, frozen, beauty/household products, beer, dry goods, dairy, etc. At most, during evening rush hours, the line has been as far as the dairy section, which is minimal for TJ lines. I can't stand the locations where it's an immediate line as soon as you enter, forcing you to shop the entire time in line. Despite it being a smaller store, there are still a significant amount of checkout lanes so any wait is minimal. All the employees are super nice too. Seasonal items go quickly so if you have any favorite products be sure to go as soon as they're released. As for regular products, I always enjoy the flower/plant section as they prices are low. Other items I get regularly are the teeny tiny avocados (perfect size to use one whole avocado for your meal), the various flavors of crisp crackers (cranberry and pumpkin in the fall, strawberry and jalapeño in the summer, fig and olive year round) which pair well with their double cream brie, and the everything but the bagel seasoning is everything, of course. In the frozen, I love the cacio e pepe spaghetti and the penne arrabbiata. TJs is basically the food impuse shopping version of Target. There's always something new to buy, and you can't help yourself leaving with a lot more than you intended on buying. read more

FOOD REVIEW No seating | Toilet Available I recently visited the newer location of Trader Joe's and found the staff to be helpful. Upon entering, you'll find baskets available for use and a display of fresh flowers on the right side of the store. One of the things I enjoy about Trader Joe's is their selection of seasonal items, which are definitely worth trying. In addition to a variety of pre-made soups, salads, dips, and cold cuts in the fridge, they also have a selection of freshly baked breads. There are also a variety of chips, seaweed, and other snacks available. The checkout lines can get long, but they tend to move quickly. While I've rarely had any issues with spoiled products at Trader Joe's, I do wish it was easier to return items if needed. It's always a blessing when a Trader Joe's opens within walking distance of your apartment, but LIC was HURTING for one...with just a few other supermarkets around that are mostly mediocre and/or super expensive, it's been a real game-changer to have this open. I'm not going to say this place was the reason I moved to the area, but hearing that it was supposed to open was kind of a main selling point when we looked at what's now our apartment. This particular Trader Joe's is pretty spacious, with lines that are generally pretty short and move very quickly. Omg I love this store! Only opened recently by my LIC office, right next to the subway, so it's super duper convenient. I'm especially taken with their Atlantic salmon fillets, super fresh and just excellent. And the prices are great! Love their fruits and veggies, beautiful meats. Always TJ before WFoods . I like this store in the old neighborhood of LIC. Many of the employees didn't look to be from Qns ( I spoke with very few of them) but they seem happy and surprise to meet us, Q people! . Hopefully this area doesn't get to suffer from the infamous gentrification . Queens is home of hard-working people. People who came from literally everywhere and adapt to this country.
