I little more limited selection for this TJ in my opinion, but the value is still there. If you know your prices you will know what to buy at TJ's. You will have to do your own math, but I will give you one example... those delicious little cans of green chilies... I use them to kick up several dishes... are 79 cents. I love Trader Joe's! We don't come here near as often as we should, though, with it being out of our way, and we live right by a Hy-Vee. However, I always walk out of Trader Joe's and ask, "Why don't we shop here more?" Let's start with the wine selection. There is wine at every price point, from $2.99 to $29.99. If you've never had three buck chuck, then you are missing out on life. Charles Shaw never lets me down. I also love the pre-cut and packaged vegetables. Sure, it seems like a small thing, but it makes preparing a meal so much easier when I can throw things straight into the pan vs. having to take the time to cut them all first. The frozen section is also great, offering a wide array of prepared, frozen meals, along with side dishes (frozen rice is fantastic!) and desserts! The one down side is there isn't a meat counter, but it's not a huge deal, as they do have some selection of beef cuts. I would recommend hitting up Just Good Meat or even Hy-Vee if you are looking for meat, though, as the selection is limited. read more

I also feel they have some of the best customer service. .today was another example of Trader Joe's customer focus. .it was my birthday. .at check out we were ask how we were and about our day it came up that it was a great day because it was my birthday. .so the check out guy said "happy birthday " and told me to pick a candy bar on him..I picked a candy bar ..Best chocolate ever!! There's a few reasons I have a lot of respect for this place..Did you know that at any time you can ask for a sample of ANYTHING in the store? Yes anything. It is store policy. So if you aren't sure about that box of crackers or wine or if its worth your dollar..any employee is obligated to at least let you try a taste before you buy it. AWESOME. The store is also committed to giving food away, and not just with samples. Every Trader Joe's store donates a portion of its products to food banks. In 2013, over $260,000,000 worth of food items were given to fight hunger. Not even Walmart can say they have done anything close to that. The name itself is a guarantee. If a product in a TJ's bears the store's name, that means that it won't contain any artificial flavors, preservatives, synthetic colors, GMOs, or artificial trans fats. Besides the obvious fact this place is tiny and over crowded with customers sometimes, its still worth taking a trip to. Whole Foods can be a bit over priced..so I prefer to go here first when I am in the area..then pick up rest of my shopping at WF for the extra few things I could not find at Trader Joes. Service is AWESOME. All the employees are nice and the atmosphere is fun and happy. Also they give you a free Trader Joes grocery reusable bag if its your first trip there. I love this place! This is a nice, "open" store with 5-6 aisles worth of food, and an outer perimeter of dairy, produce and wine, amongst other things. This is definitely not a place to go if your looking to get your prototypical brands and types of grocery items, but I'm sure most people know that about TJ's. While this store is small (much smaller than Whole Foods), it is alot bigger than TJ's I've seen in other major cities, such as Washington D.C. My personal favorite items from TJ's is their apple cider, peanut brittle and frozen crab cakes. The store is very similar in type of products to Whole Foods, but MUCH cheaper. In fact, I'm consistently surprised by how they can sell quality food at such a low price. Glad they are in town, and they are in a perfect location to be successful at One Pacific Place. read more

Visited yesterday on grand opening day around 10:00am. The weather wasn't the best, but it was obvious there was excitement in the air. Parking was a nightmare and people were everywhere, with checkout lines averaging 6-7 people in each line (all registers open). Coming from CA, I wasn't sure if the stock would be the same, but I found everything I normally buy, with the exception of light vanilla soy milk. The store is a good size, about 13,000 sq ft if I heard correctly on the news. Once the commotion dies down a bit, this will be a great place to visit. One note is that the parking is not so good. Hopefully it will improve as less people show, but I don't think there will ever be many empty parking spots. read more

I decided to stop by and visit Trader Joe's off of Pacific this afternoon. It wasn't that crowded for a Saturday. Lots to see from fresh fruit to pastries freshly made for the holidays. The frozen section offers different offerings the typical grocery store will not carry, especially specialty dishes like shumai. Most workers are friendly and unless they are stocking or placing orders, they will ask you if you need help. The cashier was very pleasant and double bagged items that could break if the bag tips. This was a typical visit with no major surprised that warranted a 4 out of 5 rating. read more

Trader Joe's makes me happy ! This store is wonderful and the staff is great ! The first time I visited this store I was afraid it was going to be pricey but that is not the case . With bananas being 19 cents each , bundles of flowers at a great price and all the wonderful other products being at great prices . I can walk out with a nice bag full of stuff for $25 and be happy about it ! Oh and since its Close to the holidays they have the most wonderful chocolate bar that only comes out once a year ( Stock up trust me !! ) . The staff has always been friendly and helpful and since they try the new products out they can tell you all about them so don't be afraid to ask . I know a few people who religiously shop here, but I really only come here for just a few items and see what they might have that I've never tried before. They always have nice food presents, like cookie and scones and treats... Yesterday a friend sent me here because she said there were Persian Cucumbers, which I had never heard of, and sure enough, here they were. I have lived on both of the coasts and have been in love with Trader Joes forever. They could put cheese on a shoe, give it a clever name like Joe's Super Gooey Cheesy Flat-a-roni and I'd buy it. I'd buy three and save them in the freezer. So, really, they could do no wrong. Biases aside, I do like this place. I tend to go for their desserts and for the frozen "ethnic" foods (thai, indian, korean, etc.). I have been mostly happy with their frozen food. And the frozen garlic naan is the BOMB! The store itself seems a bit smaller than ones in California, but actually similar in size to the ones in the Boston and NYC area, so I was happy. People there were super friendly and the place seemed to be hopping. The lines got long the last time I was there, and they rang the bells and opened up two lines right away. Rock on, TJ! read more

I grocery-shop here almost every week. I only give them 4 stars because of the lack of kinds of vegetables and fruits. They sometimes leave them rotten on the shelves which is not acceptable. But the positive side of it is they immediately take them off while the Whole foods and some groceries stores called Hyvee workers didn't. Other than that, I like their workers being friendly and polite. I'm not a huge fan of frozen foods, but when I gave a shot for the first few months after I delivered my first child to help have more time to rest than to do choirs as much as possible, it wasn't too bad. (Sorry if I still sound snob.) My husband and I love ice cream sandwich they got there. Yummer! He also likes garlic naan and curry. I like TJ's ketchup and Red Curry sauce they got. I cook bamboo shoots, shrimp, spinaches and stuff and put them into the curry sauce and heat them and then put some cilantro on top of it when it's done and have it with white rice. You should try unless you are adventurous! read more

This grocery store truly disappointed me, or shall I say an employee. I came in with my service dog this morning. I placed my dog in the cart to avoid a potential mishap--for example, someone accidentally tripping over her leash. A nice worker did inform me that it was against regulation to have her in the cart but she would be allowed in the store as long as she was on her leash. No big deal. Understood. I put her on the leash. HOWEVER, as I went to check-out, an older, shorter woman with short hair (employee) stares down at my dog, (which is clearly trained to stay by my side and wasn't harming anyone) then stares up at me and gives me the dirtiest look EVER as she walked past me. No smile. No greet. No warm gesture. Colder than cold could be. My experience there was so uncomfortable. I think there should be truly a training course on customer service if this is what is expected. read more

I love the trader hoes. This one is just like all others, and represent their brand well. They have a wonderful selection, at less than whole foods prices. Two buck chuck cabernet sauvignon will continue to be a favorite of mine for the price range of $3. Try their salad dressings that are in the refrigerated produce case....amazing. And the 21 salute spice is great on chicken or grilled veggies (all above mentioned is only at trader joes). The fresh flower selection for the prices are unbeatable. Also, if you bring your own bag, make sure you're getting your ticket for a free $25 gift certificate that is drawn monthly. Sometimes the cashiers forget this, just remind them. just a note: trader joes now is producing their own scotch as well....it's been rated decent for the price, i haven't tried it yet but it's on my "to-do" list read more

So, Trader Joe's arrived in Omaha last fall with a bunch of fanfare. Probably too much in my opinion. After hearing about how much we needed a Trader Joe's in Omaha for years, the reality has been kind of disappointing. Unless I can't find something at Wohlner's or Whole Foods, I don't stop in here. (Except around Christmas when they have this awesome cinnamon and vanilla tea.) My opinion doesn't seem to be shared though. It's always busy. It's hard to park. The aisles are narrow and crowded. I'm not sure what it is, but I love this place. sure it might cost a bit more than a WalMart but is that a bad thing. You get what you pay for sometimes. I have tried several items from here, some hit a homerun and some did not. However, they are good people and if something didn't tickle your fancy, let them know and they will give you a store credit! They have a great wine selection and I also enjoy their frozen section. It is nice knowing that my fish and meat are pure. Be warned, you may go in with an item or two in mind, but you always spend more than what you were intending but that's ok! The Omaha store is a very good experience and I highly recommend anybody swinging by and giving this place a chance! read more

This grocery store is cute and everything I've tried from there is pretty good! I LOVE their Spiced Cider and their Matcha Joe-Joe's!! A few times I've went, they have even had samples which is always a great way to try something new and maybe even learn new recipes. read more

Truth is, I miss California. There's no other reason why I need to go to Trader Joe's. Most people have commented on how "small" this branch is but it's not that different from the one on Lake Street in Pasadena I used to go to. I have been to at least 10 different TJ in SoCal and let me just say that this one and only one in Omaha is definitely better than some in L.A.! I'll admit it, I'm kinda spoiled. Most of the TJ's I've gone to have ALL been on the West Coast, and unless the local OMA residents have been to those stores, you probably think the OMA TJ's is good. It isn't! In the 5 times or so I've been to this store, I don't think I have ever been thanked for shopping at TJ's when I check out. And mentioning the check out, they are the slowest and busiest I have ever witnessed. Are there ever less than 4 or 5 people in line at any given time? Excellent selection of the esesntials. This is the only place I shop for groceries in Omaha. I do get some things here and there from other places like Bakers, etc. but no place beats Trader Joe's! I love trader joes! All of their food is really good quality and if you dont like it the return policy is great ( they will always take it back , no questions asked). The staff is always very nice and willing to help. If you are shopping at whole foods and haven't checked out trader joes yet you are doing yourself a disservice. The prices are way better at TJs . The only down side is that it can get pretty crowded, especially after school hours it will be full of children. read more

What a horrible experience! Not only did a cart get pushed into me by an EMPLOYEE as I was leaving (because my mask was covering my mouth and not my nose) but the manager (Michael P) grabbed my cart, kicked me out and bagged my groceries in 30 seconds. I suppose I can thank TJ's for two bags of free groceries but I'll add the embarrassment and MISTREATMENT was not worth $40 in groceries. BTW the manager didn't even inquire about the employee pushing the cart into me. How sad! I really liked TJ's and I can say confidently they will not have my further support or business. read more

Trader Joes is a fun place to look around and has some pretty decent food. I choose not to shop here very often, though, because it's always way too crowded! Rather small size compared to other Trader Joe's I've been to, but they have everything you'll need! Their prices are great for the most part. I don't like how their fruits and veggies don't keep for a long time. Their salads are my FAVORITE lunch but they are always almost about to expire :-( I've even bought pomegranate seeds that were suppose to be good for a week and they were moldy (yes, I kept them refrigerated so I don't know what went wrong...) Trader Joe's has so many interesting products that you don't always see in regular grocery stores. They are the perfect place for food shopping when you're having a party or small get together. Their cheese and alcohol section is great! (And the prices are pretty great as well) It's always nice to go to a party and appear with foods that have well designed labels and packaging! The employees are friendly and always do everything they can to help! They all carry box cutters with them in case they need to run to the back and open a brand new box for you! It's so great! Trader Joes has saved my life as a working mother! I am there weekly buying our dinner options for the family. I love that I can get pre-made meals to keep in the freezer and then cook the day I need it. The meals are free of unnecessary preservatives and additives. Love the organic Veggie pizza, chicken and vegetable quesadilla, and Mac and cheese. The best part is the price! Completely affordable! Oh gosh I love me some Trader Joe's! I always leave happy (and I despise grocery shopping!) I've honest to goodness never had a bad experience whilst shopping at Trader Joe's and we go every week/every other week depending. The employees are insanely friendly and seem like they truly love their jobs. I've never been to another grocery store where that's the case. They always have helpful suggestions and seem to really love the food. And I love the conversation at the checkout. I've had some of the best conversations ever with the employees at Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's has a reputation for being expensive for some reason. I think people liken it to Whole Foods and it's not like that at all. I feel like I always get a bigger bang for my buck at Trader Joe's. The produce is always on point. The samples are wonderful. I love that most of their canned goods have BPA free lining. That's a major plus! I LOVE how small and quaint the store is. It feels like a small town's grocery store. But I never leave feeling like they didn't have what I needed. They have lists of products that are vegan or gluten free. How helpful is that?! Absolutely wonderful. One particular event at Trader Joe's really sticks out to me and is a good example of the people that work there. It was a night last October. We had our 4 month old with us while shopping and I think it was fairly obvious that we were lacking in the sleep department and going out grocery shopping was a feat. We passed by some employees who looked at our daughter and cooed over how beautiful she was. We then heard someone come over the loud speaker and say that they were going to randomly give away a bag of seasonal favorites (basically pumpkin spice everything). They walked up to us and gave us the bag and it was so awesome! Everything in the bag was delicious and we were so excited just to have won something. Do I think that we were randomly selected? Nope. But we seriously appreciated that bag. It was very kind and as new parents, having some more food in the house was not a bad thing! I LOVE YOU TRADER JOE'S! read more
