The fresh food bar is one of my favorite things about the store, and their produce is consistently some of the best you'll find. I also always stop by the deli for their freshly sliced cheeses and turkey. The bakery and prepared meals are excellent too, and everything just feels higher quality than your average grocery store. The store is always clean, well-organized, and the staff is genuinely helpful. Wegmans has set the bar for grocery stores, and I wish there were more of them.

Jerusalem Bakery & Grocery has most of what you need for cooking Arabic food I will say flat out its the best pita bread on the east coast. When i visited other cities family there would ask me to bring pita bread when I came. The meat, cheese and spinach pies are fantastic. The cheese pies are my personal favorites. The family that owns this place is really nice, and will be even more pleased and solicitous if you show a genuine appreciation for their food. Oh, and they have a dessert that I can never remember the name of, but which is also wonderful and difficult to find - it's the one made of filo dough with cheese inside and attar (the sweet sticky sauce) on top. I have yet to see it anywhere else in the U.S, and they do a good job of it. Like many bakeries, they bake early in the morning and sell until its gone. So best selection and quantity is going to be in the mornings. For the visit on Jan 7, 2025, I got 3 meat pies, 12 cheese pies, 4 pita bread bags, and 1 sesame date cookie package which is also a favorite of mine. Total $51.14. An important pro tip is that the pies and pita bread all freeze great. so go ahead and eat 1 pie while its warm, because it likely will be, and then quickly freeze the rest. Then, warm it up in a toaster oven.

Dear Trader Joe's Team, I hope this message finds you well. I've been a loyal and avid Trader Joe's shopper for many years, and I truly appreciate the unique, high-quality, and affordable products that make your stores so enjoyable to shop in. However, over time I've grown increasingly frustrated with the number of popular items that have been discontinued, including favorites like the Pretzel Baguette, the vinegar-based hot sauce, and most recently, the non-salt Herb de Provence seasoning. The discontinuation of the Herb de Provence blend has been especially disappointing, as it was one of the few affordable, salt-free seasoning options available for those of us who are mindful of sodium intake. It's been difficult to find a comparable alternative elsewhere. I understand that product changes are sometimes necessary, but I would appreciate some insight into the decision-making process behind discontinuations. How does Trader Joe's determine when to retire an item, especially those with a strong customer following or that fill an important niche, such as low-sodium products? I recently visited Trader Joe's in Raleigh and had the pleasure of being assisted by one of their employees, Keith. I was immediately impressed by his warm and welcoming attitude. I am so so happy there is a Trader Joe's here in Raleigh. I used to live in a small town on the West Coast and would drive 45 mins with Ice Chests to go shopping. It is wholesome food at a good price, Healthy Fast Food...black beans instead of re fried beans, great soups. I am a vegetarian so love love the choices of foods to get. read more

I loved my Wegman's Sub: the bread was delicious, the deli meat was good, and the veggies were fresh. Their sushi is decent for grocery store sushi, but I don't think it's worth the price. The Gold Pan meals I tried were tasty but they were pricy. I love their Hi-Pro milk! The store is spacious and I never felt crowded by other shoppers. Overall, I think their groceries are a bit overpriced compared to competitors. Wegman's keeps mailing me 10% coupons, so that helps! Also, shopping the Hot Zones and using their app for coupons can help reduce cost further.

When I saw them on the Too Good To Go app, I decided it was the perfect excuse to run out and try it. My first two interactions were fantastic--the lovely elderly woman in the bakery and the sweet cashier checking me out were absolutely amazing and treated me with genuine kindness. However, the front-end manager (I believe her name was Tip or Tiff) completely ruined the experience. Her demeanor was an absolute deterrent. In an interaction that lasted less than three minutes, she hounded the cashier, repeating four or five times: *"Make sure you watch her scan it on the app."* The first time she said it, I thought nothing of it--just standard store process. But repeating it aggressively that many times while I, a Black customer, am just standing there rubbed me entirely the wrong way. To make matters worse, I had also picked up a granola bar to purchase. The manager came over *again*, hounding the girl: *"What are you doing? I have to make sure. Did you actually see her scan it?"* I felt incredibly sorry for the poor cashier, and frankly, I felt targeted. It is deeply frustrating to still deal with people acting like I don't belong in spaces where I absolutely do--and it's even more disheartening when that energy comes from another minority. If I had known I'd be treated with that level of baseline suspicion, I wouldn't have even spent money on the granola bar. That manager's behavior completely turned me away from ever spending my money at this store again. I truly hope this is a lesson for her in how she treats people. To the sweet cashier and the wonderful woman in the bakery, thank you for being decent human beings--I hope you both have an amazing day.

This Food Lions is located in the Riverwood Subdivision area of Clayton. I routinely travel to this one even though there is another Food Lion on NC42E closer to me. The Riverwood location has things that even higher-end grocery chains don't have. Lots of self checkout kiosks as well. If I need assistance, someone is always nearby and the wait is minimal. It reminds me of the old Bloom stores in VA.
