Namaste, I used to shop for grocery every weekend on Sunday. There was a little girl there who worked there. She hasn't been there for a couple of weeks. I'm not sure why. Because she had great customer service, my wife usually gave me a list and the little girl always helped me out, she had such a kind heart and would always be helpful to everyone. What happened to her?? Sorry to say, but this store lost me as a customer, now a days I go Ali Baba, or Shahi. Wherever she is may she find better opportunities in her life. I miss her. read more

Indian/Pakistani supermarket on the north side! This little market is hidden away on the rear side of the shopping center located on the northeast corner of 281 & Evans. This grocery faces away from where all the traffic is. They do have pretty fair selection of Indian snacks- I got some peanuts flavored with spices from Mumbai. They have a lot of Indian sodas, and spice mixes. Their produce section leaves some to be desired- it looks a bit on the sad side. The service is really great here! They run regular specials here, and they're happy to answer questions about the food. The prices are rather great, especially considering that this stuff had to be shipped across the globe to get here. There's a restaurant here, but I didn't get to try that one out. read more

This place is okay for emergencies. But I would check the expiry date before buying from here in the future. I was excited to buy some Indian fish from here a few weeks back and I hadn't checked the expiry (some fish are sold without an expiry date here). But I happened to see the expiry date yesterday for one of the fish packets and it was expired on OCT 2018!!! I notified this to the cashier and she got defensive about it saying that they're waiting for the vendor to take it back (I don't understand why they would keep them in the store and not in their warehouse unless their intention is to sell them). Also I had bought a bag of chips and a bottle of jam a few weeks back from here which was expired (I realized after eating both) in 2019!! I really enjoy stopping here when their fresh produce arrives (Tuesdays & Thursdays). They carry produce you can't find at HEB and would be lucky to find at a Trader Joe's. The folks that work here are friendly and will answer questions you have about their produce or food products. I'm a novice when it comes to Indian cooking and am just fascinated at the variety they carry. Each time I stop by, I grab a new item to try out in the kitchen. When I was making my purchase today, the cashier and a customer helped explain to me how to cook a meal with an Indian squash. The squash I bought was called Tinda. I also bought a large, green guava. It was crunchy and sweet. The hubs and I devoured the guava when we got home. It.Was.Delicious. read more

Today is 3/10/2020. I bought a tub of yogurt a couple of days ago in hopes of using it in some days. The expiry date on the tub says 4/11/2020. I'd kept it refrigerated since the day I bought it, but this morning when I opened it up to use it for the first time, there was a layer of thick white mold on the top of it!! Took it back to have it replaced or money returned. First she tried to deny it saying it wasn't mold, but then she switched gears and all she knew to say is "sorry sir, we don't take dairy back". Told her that I usually don't feel the need to peel off the cover to check quality of products that aren't meant to expire for more than a month, but she kept on droning "sorry sir, we don't take dairy back". Stay away from this place that unapologetically sells under-quality and uninspected grocery and doesn't care to rectify their mishaps when alerted! They certainly lost my business and that of anyone I know that might be considering this sad excuse of a grocery store! read more
