I had shopped here and still do for my family for decades. Now that we cut out certain Trader Joe products we feel so much better physically and body inflammation is down. Every time I shop here, the cashiers have LOUD personal conversations either with the bagger or another cashier across the store. Not only is this rude to the customer, and unprofessional but very obnoxious. It also takes them longer to ring up customers because they are too busy chatting with each other. Please just do your jobs and save the conversations for your lunch breaks. read more

For the most part, Trader Joe's is not your normal grocery. They carry a lot of products you can't find elsewhere. I enjoy shopping at these stores, because of the fresh produce, bread selections, condiments, liquors, and their brand name products. We even purchased a couple of large, insulated shopping bags to store our cold items in. While vacationing in Santa Cruz, we made a point of visiting this nearby TJ's to stock up on a few snacks and bottled water to have during our daily touristy outings. This place was a bit busy, but they have a spacious parking lot to handle the masses. As with most Trader Joe's, shopping can be a challenge, maneuvering around the crowds of determined shoppers, but the young woman at the register was pleasant and made checking out a smooth and less stressful event than I had expected. read more

Walked in there looking for the Dubai chocolate , a nice Hispanic gentleman named Xavier walked up to me and assisted me in looking for the chocolate and then it turns out the store is out and Xavier was generous enough to ask when they'll receive the next shipment. He walked me over to the other chocolate snacks and he recommended some of his favorites . This store needs more people like Xavier 5 stars!!! Will definitely be shopping here again ! read more

Oh Trader Joe's, you make my heart sing. I should probably start checking in more because I am literally here once or twice a week. I can't help myself. I love everything. Everything. New product? In the cart. Affordable cheese? Definitely in the cart. Product I probably don't need but am powerless to its charms...put. it. in. the. cart! I wish this location had more cart returns but I get that all their parking lots are notoriously tiny. Why is that a thing! All the crew members at this location have been helpful and I really enjoy discussing products with them at the register. This location used to have two entrances which was cool for when you're cruising around downtown but they closed one around Covid times and then never reopened it. While it definitely doesn't have everything, the uniqueness of the items makes it definitely one of my favorite places to shop! read more

I love Trader Joe's! I spend at least $200, every visit. You really can't go wrong with anything there. Their frozen quick meals are a life saver on nights where I don't want to cook. My family gets fed and I still have time to relax. The cheese selection is phenomenal! I try to get something new on every visit. However, I always leave with a reasonable priced smoked Gouda. The triple cream Brie is my wife's favorite. I have never met a grumpy employee at this location and will continue to come here, as I have for several years. read more

Since the beginning of sheltering well over a month ago, I've struggled with newfound levels of anxiety that have really given me some of my worst days. More-so it's the differences in what used to be "normal" that I am struggling with, and not necessarily going outside. When it comes to my weekly grocery shopping around town, I've found myself struggling to even make it through the experience without feeling anxious, dizzy, not-myself... it's not great. However, the one store that I can consistently rely on to help me feel comfortable, safe, and sane, has been this specific Trader Joe's. They have a complete system set in place that really helps promote social distancing while still giving customer's a relaxing shopping experience. I commend their team on their ability to maintain a structured queue, offer hand sanitizer and masks, actively clean shopping carts and set a direct route throughout its store to ensure limited backtracking. It just works. Along with that, their staff inside continue to be some of the friendliest I've seen in town. They offer to help anyone needing assistance with their shopping needs which is really amazing. Everything inside the shop is well stocked to this point and the little things like having background music playing helps relax the shopper in ways that's hard to explain. Not to mention that their pricing continues to be very competitive and downright cheap compared to other stores. If you're able to go grocery shopping once a week or two weeks, this Trader Joe's is certainly one to consider. It's Trader Joe's so the merch is reliable and reasonably priced, and the staff are friendly and helpful. However, getting in and out of the store with the local characters surrounding the parking lot makes shopping at this location a challenge. Nonviolent crime is a real problem in SC and this parking lot is no exception. My daughter had her purse stolen as she snapped photos on a nearby bench. She was devastated. If you shop here, be hypervigilant of your surroundings. It's a matter of when not if you'll be robbed. read more

Downtown Santa Cruz location is much smaller than my neighborhood store but it's great to be able to pick up some of my favorite TJ's essentials when in town. The only thing I notice is this place is always out of stock and not as clean inside as regular Trader Joe's I've visited. read more

This is a nice little location downtown. If you need to pick up something really quick. The restrooms are kind of dirty Mason playing but other than that store is just fine and the lines are ready and available for check out. I get some small pumpkins to add on my decorations front porch the pumpkins price is $ 0.79 each but the last 2 small white colors the checker run $ 1.49 each, I notice him and he show me a note, I told him the pumpkins he points a finger is not the one I buy. He went back to the shelve take a looks and he realized he make a mistake. If you don't know the products at you work, you should SHUT UP and learn it for better, instead arguing with customer for you stupid act. I come here at least once every week for roasted peanuts, hummus and Pita chips that's all, no more, no less. It's close to my job and very convienant. Now I have been to other trader Joe's locations before and I must say this one is always fully-stocked. Very spacious, chill and friendly environment. Employees here are always welcoming never had a bad experience. It's always busy but the cashiers are super fast so I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. While in town on business, my handy dandy yelp app discovered that this Trader Joe's was within walking distance of the hotel where I was staying. Score. I ended up visiting this TJs twice during my three night stay. I just can't pass up the inexpensive, delicious and easy (read as: no microwave or oven required) meals that are standard offerings at your neighborhood TJs. I picked up a salad one night and shrimp spring rolls the next and I was good to go. The only thing that keeps this location just shy of five stars are the definitely not shy solicitors ready to pounce on you as you exit. Yes, I support saving the rainforests. No, I don't want to sign up for a monthly "membership" at $25/month. Maybe it's because we don't live in a college town, but our local TJs have designated areas for solicitors that allow me to avoid them. read more

Being a POC in Santa Cruz in uncomfortable considering the majority population is WHITE. Coming to Trader Joe's with my brown parents is also weirdly uncomfortable but always bearable because staff are pretty dope and for the most part inclusive. Today, I dealt with a manger by the name of (Todd??) unsure. He was RUDE while I tried to make a return and treated me very differently than I'm sure he would've treated a white womxn coming in to make a return. He questioned my return, although I had already spoken to a manger before who had already told me the Trader Joe's return policies, and made my experience uncomfortable as hell. Open daily from 9 am - 10 pm I have been counting on this store more and more. First of all you can get a GALLON of Trader Joe's vodka, AKA "Vodka of the Gods" for $9.99. Everything tastes good, is packaged great and is pretty inexpensive. It's a great atmosphere and, even though they are really busy, they have plenty of help. I had one bad experience there. I asked a guy if they had pre-cooked Carne Asada because I don't cook and I wanted to make my own burritos. He took me to the meat section and showed me a big piece of bloody, raw meat. I repeated again that I don't cook and I really wanted something pre-cooked. I thought this may be a possibility because they have pre-cooked chicken. He just wouldn't get it. He was completely condescending. "Well, after you cook it it will be cooked. " Sneer. Um, yup, and after I cold cock you I won't be hungry anymore. I ended up buying a frozen burrito and leaving. I didn't complain because I 'm in the service industry and he might have just been having a bad day. I've never had a bad experience since, but that's why it is four stars instead of five. read more

Not the best or the worst Trader Joe's out there. The best are probably still the Hollywood and West Hollywood locations. But it's cute, well-stocked, and clean. I've had more attentive employees elsewhere, but they're not rude here either, so it's all good. Docking a star because last week I bought a tray of muffins for breakfast set to expire on 4/13. I bought them late at night on 4/11. By 4/12 they were moldy. By 4/13 they looked like a science experiment. I planned to return them but never got around to it, just threw them out in the end... never happened before with my TJs items, so slack shall be cut, but that wasn't impressive. read more
