Pretty unique flavors that aren't that easy to find elsewhere. It's right next to Johnnie's Super, so you can park your car in either location and check out both stores at the same time. Pretty convenient! Honestly, almost everything in the town of Boulder Creek is all in that one clump. You could totally grab a drink at Wild Roots or Johnnie's and sip away while checking out antiques at Boulder Creek Antiques nearby. Wild Roots does seem to be a chain as I noticed another one in neighboring Felton. For me personally that's not an issue but if you're a stickler for "local" local then you might want to try other stores.

Treating customers like this will not generate income and if the guy wasn't so aggressive and almost starting a fight I'd be reporting him to management. I definitely wouldn't come here again and absolutely shouldn't be worried about someone trying to start a fight while browsing in a grocery store.

As you enter, you'll see the produce section, which is neat and very fresh looking. I bought a pack of avocados and each one was perfect. There are the usual market items (like meats, seafoods, chips, etc.), but few (if any) national brands. They also have some dinnerware, like bowls and such, made by local artisans. They looked really nice, and I was tempted to buy some but resisted. The star, though, is their deli. There's a good selection of premade sandwiches, salads, sushi, baked goods, and some hot food items. You can also have sandwiches made to order. They have a few "signature" sandwiches, but you can also build your own. My only small complaint is they only have vegan mayo. It's not bad, and not very noticeable, but it lacks the creaminess and flavor of real mayo. What we ordered: + Roaring Camp signature sandwich - this is turkey with cranberry relish on your choice of bread (I chose sliced sourdough). It was excellent. + Custom sandwich on sourdough roll - the roll was fantastic; slightly soft and chewy. Sandwich was excellent. + Potato salad - this was very dill heavy and a little runny (vegan mayo?), but after a few bites, it really grew on us. By the end, we were loving it. Everyone we encountered was very chill and friendly.

Organic all the way for many products here. I got a sandwich for a picnic. What a wonderful experience. The service was friendly and efficient. They don't add a lot of salt and pepper on the same, so feel free to pick up some packets if you are feeling particularly salty.

Lovely little grocery store in downtown Pescadero…read more My friend recommended we stop here. She mentioned the sandwiches were amazing. I will note that there is no parking lot, and there is basically some street parking. If you a see a spot, take it! We got there around 1:15 on a Saturday afternoon, and there was a huge line at the deli to get sandwiches. I got the chicken club which was chicken, bacon, and veggies on fresh focaccia. Even with a huge line, they move pretty quickly. I also grabbed a gigantic chocolate chip cookie to take home for later, and we got a big loaf of artichoke bread. They have a few tables in front and also an area in the back with a lot of tables. This is a great place to stop for a casual bite.

Pescadero Local: "No, no no.... you have to get a sandwich! They toast their garlic herb bread and with the melty cheese...BEST sandwich ever!" Said Sandwich ($14.95): https://tinyurl.com/4zbnrr5k IDK whether to laugh or cry - the pic of the "hot pastrami" sandwich speaks for itself. After several bites, we tossed it. OK, their famous Garlic Herb Artichoke Bread ($9.99 x2) has to be bomb, right? A few on socials say it's the "Best Bread in the World". They even have a placard highlighting their feature on "The Best Road Trip Food Stops" (FoodNetwork.com). With all the mad hype, it was sorely disappointing...even tearing into it fresh out of the oven and still warm. Lightly crisp crust with a fluffy soft interior like French bread that was surprisingly flavorless. It was studded with a few pieces of artichoke...some tender, others stringy...but noticeably less than what I've seen in other pics/reels/TT. And if "garlic" is in the name, I want my breath humming into the next day! Other than the dusting of garlic powder on top, the garlic itself and garlic flavor was MIA. Some may say I should've bought one of their creamy dips to go with it...IMHO, good bread shouldn't need a supporting actress to steal the show. I know Arcangeli Grocery is a beloved Pescadero institution and I may get hate for giving it anything less than 4-5 star but based on this visit, I don't get the hype and felt like I wasted nearly $40. =T
