Very nice staff, helpful, they look for those who need to be checked out. Everything is stocked and put away. There is always something very good to try in the back, a concoction to give you ideas on dinner. Only negative is dogs in the carts, which I do not like as I put food in my cart and I don't want a dog to have been in the cart. Also dogs in the store, and they are not helper dogs that are official, that is bothersome. I like the cage free eggs, the bread is very healthy and a huge variety, the meats are very nice. My grocery store of choice. for so many reasons.. #1- Two buck Chuck #2 - Lavender soap #3 - fresh ground coffee ok, those arent exactly staples, but those are my TJ must haves. I love ther hummus and crackers, meats...cheeses... frozen little goodies, like spinach lasagne, pizzas, orange chicken.... Parking can be a little testy.....How do all those peace loving green people turn into road ragers when they hit the parking lot?? funny isn't it. but once you get in the store, it is usually smooth sailing, and the checkers seem to be friendly and low key. I love Trader Joes. I always get the same stuff...but sometimes I find something else I want too. I love the cereal selection. And the cheap wines. They always got tons of bananas. The staff is great, and they keep the packed lines moving pretty well. I've noticed that the check out stands at all trader joes are set up stupid. at this one they're INCREDIBLY close together so the patrons are practically standing on top of each other...and get a handi in there and you have to move to the other end of the check out deal. I like shoppnig at this location. Everytime I go its always well stocked and easy to get in. (I always find a spot even if I have to walk a bit) I can fill my cart everytime I shop but what I really like are the quick easy foods for lunch I bring to work. Always great tasting. The best thing are the cashier's. Especially 'Juliana' who is beyond friendly and takes the dragg out of doing the shopping errands. Thanks for being the example of customer service! read more

They are doing a great job here. I felt that they were being proactive and in control which was very reassuring. Carts were carefully cleaned and sorted. Entrance to the store was monitored-- 5 out then 5 in. It only took me about 10-15min to get in the store. Inside it was a pleasure to shop. Plenty of room in the aisles and lots of disinfectant available. Customers were polite and courteous. Staff was helpful and attentive. Shelves were mostly stocked full and only 2 items of one kind are allowed for purchase to avoid hoarding. It was a comfortable and secure experience thanks to the great work the staff there is doing. Almost all the staff here are eager to help out. The selection is awesome. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. If they don't know the answer (and there's no crime in that) they excuse themselves and find out as much as is humanly possible and track you down in the store to tell you. What more can you ask of a great place with fun staff who are eager to help. Despite the enthusiastic hippie shopper I encountered last week who tried to pressure me into buying local and wouldn't shut up (I KNOW it's better for the community, but I happen to like TJ's tortillas, leave me alone!) This is the first time I've ever had one in my neighborhood and I am so stoked! So many options of great tasting, cheap wine, love the selection of tortillas and breads, the assortment of nuts and dried fruits, cheeses, and the juice selection is awesome! Oh yeah, the pesto hummus is crazy good. The only thing I don't like is how much packaging they use for their fruits and veggies. Confession time: When I lived in California and Pennsylvania, I really took Trader Joe's for granted. A great selection of cheese, produce and so much more! Mochi ice cream. Mmmm. Then I moved away and suddenly, the ability to run down to TJ's disappeared. Thus, when I visit my parents, I make a point of visiting TJ's -- and I have to say, this is a GREAT location! Friendly employees, great selection of cheese (cheese seems to be a reoccurring theme for me for some reason...), and the wine selection is not too bad, either. Oh, and yeah, the parking kinda of sucks here, but you know - in the end, it's worth it. In a very boutique area like Windsor, TJ's is about as big box as you're going to find in the realm of grocery stores. I headed 5 miles in the wrong direction of my hotel and stopped here for dinner / breakfast instead of the Oliver's that turned out to be right next to my hotel. It was still worth it though. I paid $2.49 for a great sourdough baguette and $5 for my beloved lemon grilled chicken that they don't sell in WA anymore. Trader Joe's being such a wine and beer lover's mecca, it fits right into the Sonoma County setting --- in a mainstream way. $3.99 for Cherry Blossom Pinot Noir which is SO good! Store was clean, it was slow so people were re-stocking and the checkout folks were friendly. Lots of parking, too, so not a lot to complain about other than this place is out of the way if you're in the hotel area surrounding STS and don't have a car. I'm sure there are plenty of cool little markets or restaurant that will fill the void, but few will do it this affordably. read more

Maybe it's silly writing a review for a store, because either you shop there or you don't, but this review is for the awesome PEOPLE who work there. So many wonderful people! I love coming here because it feels homey and welcoming. It's partly a function of Trader Joe's business model (I think they do profit-sharing) so in a way, every Trader Joe's store has this great energy to it that, say, a Safeway, lacks altogether. When you respect your employees and get them involved in things, it naturally creates a happier workplace (duh, that's been known since the 1980s at least... and by a handful of peeps since the beginning of time!) ALSO, what's important to keep in mind for any/all Yelp reviews is that people generally attract what they are. Grumpy, unhappy people tend to keep walking into unhappy experiences. That's just the way life works. So if someone posts the opposite of what I'm saying here, insisting that the employees at Trader Joe's are not helpful or surly, it's probably because the person posting it is unhappy and surly (or was, at least, the day it happened). Reality is personal, it turns out! As for me, I make it my business to be happy and self-responsible rather than a victim of circumstance, so what I'm saying here (and in other reviews) is true to my personal experience. And if you're like me, you'll have a similar experience. Makes sense, right? In particular, I want to commend and commend again (re-commend) Mr. Mike Adams in the wine department. If you need a recommendation for a bottle of vino, this man is a go-to source! He's passionate about it, and very knowledgable. You can give him a few keywords and/or a price range and he'll pull out the perfect bottle from their impressive array. He's a real boon to people like me who don't know much about wine and don't necessarily want to spend time researching and doing trial-and-error. This man will steer you right, even if you're a seasoned "cork dork"! I shop Trader Joe's in Santa Rosa often. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. Last evening I saw an employee about to cut up a box. I asked her if I could have it. She said, "of course," and her kindness went even further. Kay asked me if I would like her to have the staff (who were about to empty a bunch of boxes) save them for me and I could pick them up the next day. I was overjoyed as I have been getting boxes piecemeal over time. I came back the next day and Kay had a whole bunch of nice boxes saved for me. Bob who was working in the back was as kind as ever. I had to ask a friend to take me to Trader Joe's as I have a 2 setter. The boxes would not all fit in my friends car, so Bob offered to cut them open for me and load the car. I was truly overwhelmed and so grateful as I am really doing all this moving on my own. I have had serious difficulties to deal with lately and Bob could see that. When I went to thank the store manager for Bob's help and kindness, Bob surprised me with a bouquet of beautiful flowers along with some very encouraging words. My heart was filled with gratitude and renewed hope. For a moment, I was not alone struggling with life's challenges. His kindness, understanding and willingness to reach out to help a stranger reaffirmed in me that I am not alone and the challenges I was facing. I could and would conquer this battles. So you see, Bob and Kay are the type of people whom we should all aspire to be. They are a wonderful representation of Trader Joe's and the value they add to their employers and we, the customers. store has a lot of good stuff to pick from. only down side is they let people bring their dogs in here and sometimes i see them wandering free and owners not bothering to correct bad behavior. they aren't service dogs either and i dont think people should be bringing in pets especially when they're visibly sniffing around food. today i saw a woman let her dog poop outside the store, not clean it up, and proceed to shop around with the dog in her cart. as far as i can tell these carts aren't cleaned after use. i am likely going to shop elsewhere if i keep seeing dogs like that. staff doesn't seem to care about it at all and even encourage it. read more

Living in Eureka, I've always been delighted when I can get to Santa Rosa to stock up at Trader Joe's. Having learned that they are adapting a policy of dropping health care coverage for their workers under Obamacare, I have reluctantly decided that I will no longer shop at Trader Joe's. I believe strongly that businesses should support their community and do right by their workers. Businesses who value profit over people will not have my dollars. Sadly, there is a decreasing list of places I can shop any more. There are a couple of reasons I took some stars off for this Trader Joe's. First, it's small...meaning it never has everything I need. So if I go there, I also have to go to another grocery store to finish off my list. Second, the parking lot is small and the entrance is pretty narrow (in my opinion), and if there's any traffic, it's difficult to turn out of. I will say though, they deserve at least these three stars. I always get quickly through line. Also, the cashiers are always very friendly...I've never met someone working there who is rude. Another thing is, it's always well-stocked (meaning, for what they do have there, they never seem to be out). And, I love their frozen meals! Their frozen food section here is almost as big as the frozen food sections at bigger Trader Joe's, so that's nice. I do go here once in a while, since the location is better for me than the other Trader Joes, and the stuff I get here is always quality. If it had more of what I need, I would go more often. read more

One of the larger store types with the wider aisles so shopping isn't a clusterbomb ... but they also seem to get less traffic than the usual TJs since it's way up in the semi-boonies. Great prices, friendly staff... and the sh*ttiest parking lot in all of grocerydom. I mean, seriously? This parking lot would be appropriately sized for a neighborhood pharmacy.
