What happened TJ's? It use to be one bell, two bells, let me help you. Now when I go to the Studio City location, I feel like I'm sitting uninvited at the popular kids table wearing white after Labor Day. The staff seem very happy and love each other; but treat the customers like we are intruding on their time. I can't count on my hands and toes the number I have heard that is not my department. Customer service is gone and they couldn't care less. They are also not so bright or maybe stoned. Last visit I came in for one item. Total $4.69, I gave $5.09. I got a look like handed over beads and trinkets. She stared at me for about ten seconds. I said, " it was 4.69 right?" "Yes," she said and continued to stand there glassy eyed, staring at me. "Great, I gave you the pennies to make it easier and so I don't get pennies back." She stared a little more. Eventually she sheepishly slid a dime across the counter. I looked at her, waiting for another other three dimes. She looked past me and started to take the next shoppers groceries. I'm not going to fight over thirty cents but either get sober or get a calculator. Having people who cannot do basic calculations handling other peoples money is very concerning; and points to Trader Joe's declining employee standards and work ethic. read more

it seems like we are almost always in this Trader Joe's. At least 3 or 4 times a week. Even making a grocery shopping list, somehow few items is still missing. My son practically sleeps there:-)). On this visit--7/20/27 in mid day, he stumbled on this lovely store again. I am not going to write the prices on each item, but you figure out the rest. Trader Joe's shoppers. He bought Coffee Cold Brew, Mini Watermelon, 3 large regular size bananas, Mango & Passion Fruit squares(dried fruit), 2 Protein Pancakes( count of 2 in each, Hand soap-- foaming Peach/Mango, which doesn't smell good at all, but he likes it, so we are keeping it. I thought those 2 fruity scents together will smell great, but it doesn't. His cashier was Oscar R. and he was kind and helpful. Store was in a good condition, and as those who shop at TJ, know how clean the store is. Always fully stocked, and helpful are all of their employees.. My family and I were first-time visitors to this specific TJ's location. It was a positive shopping experience because we initially came in just to buy fresh cherries but ended up leaving with $115.00 worth of various food items we enjoy eating. The shelves were fully stocked, sales items were clearly marked throughout the store, employees were all very friendly, welcoming, and hardworking, and the store was exceptionally clean. I love TJ's! This low rating only reflects the response I received from TJ's, after presenting an incident which injured me. However, this morning I bit into a Pretzel Bun and I immediately felt a very sharp pain in my gum. I spit out the food and touched the area with my finger and saw that I was bleeding. Next to my tooth, I pulled out a small sharp object, which after inspecting it, turned out to be a very sharp shard of grey plastic. I immediately contacted TJ's headquarter, left a message and an e-mail describing the incident. 8 hours went by and no response from TJ's. Now I called the store in Studio city where I purchased the pretzel roll. Griselda, the manager inspected the plastic shard, which I had handed her in a small ziplock bag, and told me that they would send it to headquarters to investigate. I know this could possibly be the only sharp object in the entire batch of Pretzel buns, but I am very surprised that when I asked her if she would pull the product off the shelf, she responded, no, we will have to investigate first. I just hope that no one else gets injured, like I was or worse, have a sharp piece get lodged in the throat. Very disappointed in her response, when there is a possible contamination for a food product. The grey plastic shard looked like it was shredded plastic which was very hard and very sharp. One of the best locations. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I over heard a conversation of coworkers that were on a deadline, mid-restock, with a crowded store that while navigating it all they were also making sure each got the proper break time. Very respectful and professionally handled. The store is well stocked and keeps a lot of the products that are in demand. Many other of the locations seem to run out. Studio City, California I have learned about this location thru my client. Even though there is one near her house she still prefers this location because it's spacious - plenty of room to move around. Since then, I have been coming here. I love their pre - packed salads. Filling and a healthy option for me. They have plenty of products to choose from. Employees make sure they stock up on some products that are getting low. Registers are fast as usual and they're pleasant. Plenty of free parking spaces but it gets full some times. Have fun shopping!!! read more

EXT. Trader Joe's - Studio City This fun location sits off Ventura Blvd between Laurel Canyon Blvd and the light it's actually at Radford Avenue. It's in a shared large plaza with load of other great businesses including Sephora, Mendocino Farms, Crave Cafe, and the former Local Kitchens. The congested parking lot with limited spaces due to this being a huge hub will forever be a staple of TJs that you kind of expect. And that's part of it's charm because we love a good Trader Joe's! This isn't my go to location as I have two I frequent in Sherman Oaks, NoHo West is one of the best, Woodland Hill for those wine area thrills, Chatsworth has ample parking w/ plenty of room and Hollywood is one of the best. INT. Trader Joe's - Cont'd I can usually find most of what I need here, but they can ran out of things. The customer service here is laid back, but thoughtful and they continue to improve. Fully agree with others about the organization and promptness here. And do enjoy the front entrance greetings on occasion as you don't always get that at other locations. There's usually TJ's crew on the floor to help you and their sections are plentiful and easier to navigate in recent years. They definitely found their best flow. Love the plant-based and vegan friendly selection at this location, a lot of which can be gluten-free and has made me even more conscious in the past few years. Love trying new wines, though there's not always someone in this area. Grateful for this location and definitely want to give it more of my support as I've been in the area more this season. The Service: Fast service at the cashier. They are very efficient at this busy location on Ventura Blvd. Staffs are friendly and helpful. The Store: Well organized and nice inventory. Always fun to try out new items of their brand, especially the frozen dessert section. The Parking: Plaza parking lot sharing with many other retailers. So tired of Trader Joe's inconsistent quality of produce.. I think most of the time I've bought fruit from them it has been unripe or straight up moldy! I went grocery shopping this week to buy some produce and ALL three of boxes of peaches, grapes and bag of tangerines ended up being moldy, or grainy and had to go straight in the trash, what a WASTE! What can you say about Trader Joe's? They are all pretty much the same. This one is no different than all of the other ones that span out across the greater Los Angeles area. This is a large location. As expected, they have all of the things that you would expect from Trader Joe's. As is the case with all of the Trader Joe's, the staff here are all very nice and always happy to help with whatever you need. This Trader Joe's is located on Ventura Boulevard. They have a large parking lot in front. The one thing I will say about this parking lot is that it tends to get fairly crowded. It seems that the spaces were designed to be fairly small, so if you're parked in between a couple of SUVs, or something like that, you may feel fairly squeezed. But, this is not the fault of Trader Joe's, this is just something to think about when you're pulling into their parking lot. Overall, if you need what Trader Joe's has to offer, this is the place to get it. read more

This location always falls short when I visit in-frequently. The two locations on Riverside in Sherman Oaks are five star always. They just do a better job keeping things stocked and fresher looking there. I should know better not to go anywhere else but I was in the area and popped in only to find four items I needed were out. Also, the meat selections looked really dated, and I struggled to find a couple of decent looking apples in the whole row. Service was OK, no smiles or friendly chat, not a big deal. This TJ's store is located in a Plaza in Studio City with a very friendly & helpful staff. It is more spacious than most TJ's so everything is more spread out. It's an easy one stop shopping haul. It's surrounded by a lot of other stores, shops & restaurants in the area, so you can do one stop shopping here - Saving Time & Money. TJ's always seems to be on the cutting edge of the food scene. One of the things they do best is to make Luxury High End Gourmet items into products for the masses, they can indulge in for an affordable price. It's Fall so the store is filled with all kinds & shapes & colors of various pumpkins. Inexpensive real pumpkins for $4.99 to put on display in your home for Halloween. Be sure to also pick up a witch's broom for $4.99 scented with cinnamon to make your whole house smell like Fall. They now have these Fall Organic Pastas made in Italy in various shapes & flavors including Pumpkin for under $3. I loaded up my shopping cart with every one of them. Trader Joe's started in California but has expanded & has many stores all across the whole USA now. You won't see National name brand items here they have their own line of products which are comparable or even better. As a result of being the manufacturer, distributor & retailer they pass that Savings onto the customers with Great Products at low prices. Me and this Trader Joe's location have a conflicted relationship. Don't know if love-hate would define it, the words are too strong, but it's complicated.... The store is bigger, well organized and most of the time well stocked. I like their products - easy to make, perfect dinner for 2 people, International cuisine. It helps my planning for dinner and other meals, to have a variety of dishes, on a healthier and reasonable priced side! And I can't spend a lot of time in the kitchen, so it saves me! Unfortunately with the store's policy of changing products, it's painful when dishes you like, salads, etc get discontinued!!! Please, stop torturing us. Lately, I'm not a fan of new things they came up with like dips, salads, etc. Not as good! I like their wine selection, their cheese and cold cuts ones. The bakery used to be better, they have a few decent desserts. Pizza-s are amazing and pastas are great! Be careful with produce! I bought cherries recently and tossed most of them the same day, they were close to be rotten, I asked for my money back. Each time you show somebody who works there moldy fruit or salad they don't remove it, they just leave it there. Maybe a fool in a rush will get it, who cares, right? Same with lettuce in salads, not always fresh! So keep your receipt! They tell you that you can return things, yep, I'll navigate that parking lot to bring moldy cherries back. What world do you live in, people? I've been shopping at this location for more than 10 years, I like some people who work here, nice, chatty like Steve Ryan, Dan, other people I don't know their names. Some others don't get it - either have an attitude or rush you around! This store is about chatting with the customer about new products etc. It makes the shopping experience more fun! Also , they always pack, unpack in 1000 places while you shop, makes it harder and unpleasant to pick something up from a shelve. You're ignored or pushed around! Some care for customers would be nice! Parking - well, it's getting real over there. It's never been easy, but since they got Mendocino Farms in the shopping lot, it's worse. This is an outstanding Trader Joe's. I mean, that's kind of redundant as TJ's is awesome in and of itself. But this one rocks. Why? Because it's twice as big as the regular ones, so everything is spread out. Plenty of room to move around and stay distanced, especially during these strange pandemic times. They carry all of the same things that the other stores carry, but their parking lot is AWESOME! Can't say that about every TJ's. The store is clean and the service is friendly. AND, they have senior hours from 7 to 8 am. COOL for all the people that can and should use it. Today I went for the first time during regular hours (8 am) and it was great. Not crowded. Very civilized. Got everything I needed - unlike other stores (Ralph's), they were not stocking half empty shelves during early shopping hours. Everything looked fresh. And, of course, it's TJ's. My first stop shopping is always TJ's. Incredibly, they have improved during these trying times. And this particular store is the best one I've found. Love you, TJ's! read more

I love Trader Joe's! Trader Joe's has been around since 1967, and as a national chain of neighborhood grocery stores you should be familiar with them. Of course, if you're familiar with the grocery stores you'll know that they offer a vast collection of private labeled stuff; there are no brand name items so if you're looking for your Coke products, Dorito's flavors, Tyson Foods chicken, Wonder Bread, you will not find any of that. I've never had any issues really with service or products, and the lines at most stores are always maintained well. There's always someone around to ask something about if needed. The return policy is pretty great, if you don't like something or if there's something wrong bring it back. --Products-- From fish, meats, poultry, various produce, dairy, frozen foods/items, snacks, booze, flowers, several beauty/personal items, and grab and go items, you'll find all you'll need. I'm a fan of everything they have to offer..seriously. But here's some of those items I'm a fan of: -Snacks: olive oil seasoned popcorn, dried chile spiced mango, flaxseed and veggie tortilla chips, nacho cheese tortilla chips, coffee bean blast ice cream -Frozen foods: tamales, wild and uncooked Argentinian red shrimp, Indian garlic nan, Thai shrimp gyoza -Produce: Bananas, apples, bagged mixed greens, sweet potatoes -Meats & poultry: ground beef, burger patties, ground turkey, chicken legs, the various flavors of chicken sausages that they have --Location Specific-- This is a great TJ's in the local area! I think it's maintained very well, clean, and everyone is friendly and helpful. The times I have been I have had no issues. The parking lot is sufficient enough in space but this area can get very busy at times in the Studio City Plaza with all the various businesses around. read more

My three favorite things in the world are here! Gnocchi, Cherry Blossom Pinot Nior and Flowers! Gnocchi here is great BUT you have to be on top of getting it because it sells out pretty quick. I always make sure to stick up. Cherry Blossom Pinot Nior is an amazing wine! Referred to me by the wine guy at another TJ's. It has amazing undertones and I'm so happy they just released their Rose. Which is almost equally amazing! Last but not least the flowers! I buy myself roses a couple time a month here. Sometimes all I get is the roses but I usually like to get some babies breath or sunflowers to mix in with my bouquet. It is always under $10! All three of these items plus a couple more is under $20 combined and makes for a great evening! read more

Pretty nice Trader Joe's. Employees offered cold water and shade while we waited in line. Line to get in the store was about 10 minutes and employees were wiping carts down. Line to checkout was a separate beast. About 30 minutes and wrapped around the whole store. Didn't help that everyone had a full grocery cart of food because all the checkout booths were working. No issues with parking or anything out of stock. They ran out of paper bags with handles though. That's the real tragedy. read more

In the midst of all this craziness going on right now , I'm happy that Trader Joe's employees are still keeping their spirits high. The store is so well organized unlike anything I've see at other markets. They kindly direct you where to go and I appreciate all the precautions they've been taking and keeping the cleanliness amongst employees and guest. When the line started to get backed up the Manager "Chris" kindly and Loudly let everyone know that there were multiple empty lines on the other side and directed the traffic over to the emptier lines. I have been here many times and it is one of the better locations. It is well stocked and my experience has been that their produce is very fresh. Today, I went in and was just browsing when Giovanni approached me and offered assistance. He was so kind, friendly and helpful. He helped me find corn tortillas as well as some ready made chicken salad. My experience was honestly a better one because of his assistance and good nature. He is definitely an asset to this company. Parking can be tricky sometimes, as it is in a small shopping complex but it is still in a very convenient location. I have been coming to this location for years, but sadly I'm visiting less and less due to the lack of freshness of the food. I find this has been a problem with Trader Joes in general, and especially this location. The last time I was here, the frozen items in the freezer section were all soft. I always enjoy shopping at TJ's. This location is the one in m neighborhood. I come here often and only now am writing a review somehow. Anyway, I come here for a number of things. Some of the regular items include the following: - chicken apple sausage - frozen eggplant cutlets - Japanese fried rice (frozen) - dumplings (frozen) - strawberries - blackberries - blueberries - eggs - nonfat milk - cheeses - soy milk - veggies - a variety of produce - cereals - cranberry orange bread - cream cheese - alcohol for parties - other small gifts I have been shopping here for years and have come to recognize some of the workers here. I also have a family friend who had been working here. So, it was always especially nice to see them here. Since the shooting, I'm not so sure he works here any longer. I'm not sure. I always get great service here and folks are usually so friendly. Parking can be atrocious but if you go early, early in the AM or if you're patient and manage to make it to the back of the building, there are usually plenty of spots. It's usually the customers that aren't the friendliest, both inside and outside of the store. I appreciate the store always being clean and pretty organized. Great market - this location is a bit bigger than most so I feel like there's more quantity offered. I try and come mid-week or later in the evening to avoid the crowds because the crowds are off the hook. There have been times where I have come after work and can't find parking, it is just that busy. If it's a holiday? Forget it, there's no parking whatsoever and it's a fairly decent sized lot to boot. Now with Mendocino Farms opening next door, I can see it being a real challenge to shop at this location. Nevertheless, like all TJ, great food options and a good staff. I particularly come for the ready made salads I take to work for my lunch, Staff is also very helpful if you need extra muscles to help you carry heavy items to the car because I've needed assistance and it's been no problem. I will alway come here as I can, but it will more than likely be mid-week! read more

I usually love this Trader Joe's location because staff is very friendly. There is multiple frozen options that I love and snacks. Unfortunately, yesterday I decided to buy beef for the first time at Trader Joe's. I got the sirloin steak tips to make dinner. The meat was not expired based on the expiration date so of course I made it for dinner. It had a little bit of an off aftertaste. Instantly the same night I was vomiting and so was my boyfriend who also ate the dinner. We had stomach cramps and until today can't hold anything down and feel super weak from all the vomiting... I love Trader Joe's but I would maybe not trust their meat. read more

The parking lot was somewhat difficult as the spaces are super tiny! The employees were outgoing and kind, offering assistance and smiles to everyone around. My fiancee is gluten-free now so shopping can be tricky to say the least. The Studio City Trader Joe's has become her favorite store to shop for healthy food. I admit, they do have a nice and tasty selection of healthy eats. The downside to this location is that it's a perpetual zoo both inside and outside the store. The parking lot is a shared lot in a shopping plaza so it's always ridiculous trying to find a spot and trying not to get hit by agitated drivers. I don't know if it's normal at other Trader Joe's but you can't stop to look at something without people running into you or cramping up your space. Even when the store is not that busy you'll still have customers all over you like white on rice without fail! We've seen some moldy produce and expired products on more than one occasion so it actually is necessary to look at what you're buying - it'd just be nice to do so with some breathing room. Overall this Trader Joe's is OK in my book. If you regularly brave the parking/crowds, I salute you! read more

If you like to go shopping with your dog and it is not a service dog, even though it is ILLEGAL, by all means go to Trader Joe's Studio City. Management has made it clear they WILL NOT enforce the law. I have spoken to management several times over the years, but there never seems to be any enforcement, and shoppers bring their dogs with imounity because they know staff will look the other way. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but if they are not service animals, they do not belong in food markets. So says the law. read more
