It is also really expensive but that's probably because of the prices on oil and inflation. So here it is. Mousa Ler carries a lot of imported products from Armenia and other countries. I love purchasing specialty products that are not sold in traditional supermarkets. They have a variety of juices,spices, canned goods, pasta, pickled vegetables and more. *They have fresh produce every day * A meat department that sells marinated bbq meats and many cuts of meats *A deli with a lot of imported and domestic cold cuts *A freezer full of ready to cook meals and imported ice cream *a section where there's a variety of ready to eat salad and appetizers. *fresh bread made daily *cookies and pastries from local bakeries. They also take orders for catering. You can order Armenian style bbq ready to serve, salads, appetizers, sandwich trays and more. The customer service is ok, not the best but I have seen worse at other Armenian markets. Parking can be a problem specially over the weekends. Small parking lot shared by many businesses. I'm new to the neighborhood and I waited to find a market near me that can be my "go to" place. I drove and stumbled upon Mousa Ler Market. It's located in a small shopping center but has enough parking spots to not be circling around for a while. I walked in and I was so pleased to see all the produce neatly organized and very clean. All the workers are very polite and helpful. This market has a lot of great products, but unfortunately it's overly cramped and it's own workers block paths when they could make room for people to pass. Luckily an old man worker told one of the ladies unnecessarily blocking the isle to move her ass for people to get through. She just had to move a little but he scared her into a corner which I thought was hilarious. Thank you sir! Ladies at register today around 4pm.... wow... just wow. One gave wrong info on what I was buying at bakery, 2 I overheard talking crap about a client who was just walked out after being really nice saying how much he loved the hood they had. Than there was this very old, hair dyed black, make-uped woman who insulted my husband and me when we got to register asking if my son was my child or my grandchild. Saw I was shocked by her comment and offered no appology. Luckily for her I was fresh out of studying Revelations and wouldn't let the serpents tongue bring me to lower myself to her level. The women at register seemed bored and overly rude on comments to and about customers. I feel the owners should know what could be hurting their business now and in long run. I have been going to this Mousa Ler Market for over 15 years. I haven't been there in a long time. Yesterday, I had a doctor's appointment on Victory blvd. and decided to make a trip to Mousa Ler. I walk in and start doing my grocery shopping. Everything that they have is very fresh, delicious and clean. Customer service can be a little more pleasant if they put a little effort into it. Ladies at the register always look tired, bored, and can't wait for the day to be over. A smile won't hurt:))) On the other hand, the men in the back are a lot more nicer and friendly than their women. They all work very hard. Men and women. Azatuhi, the owner of the store has everyone in check. Which is a good sign. She is friendly, fast, professional, has good, yet very diplomatic, political style/attitude with her customers and her employees. The store is fully stocked with EVERYTHING!!!!!!! From produce, to can food, frozen food, to pastries of all kinds, dairy, to the fresh deli/meat department and the list can go on and on. I have never experienced a problem at this store. Years ago, when I used to go there, it was small, but still full of all types of food and beverages. They have expanded Mousa Ler to be a Mousa Mountain of goodies. The above description sums up how I felt when I stepped into Mousa Ler, a small Armenian market. Not only am I 100% Hungarian (so I frequent ethnic markets); but I am also familiar with Middle Eastern markets, specifically. I understand the staff perhaps being "mystified" by people of a different race entering their shop but the second my boyfriend and I attempted to enter Mousa Ler, it seemed like a film where everyone (staff and customers) stopped what they were doing and stared at us like we were lepers. Sound stopped. Movement stopped. Time froze. Can you say: uncomfortable?! This continued within the store as we could barely walk a foot without being stared at. Mousa Ler's "service" is simply unacceptable (unless you are Armenian, I presume). In terms of products and offerings, Mousa Ler features some produce, deli items (cheeses, butter, smoked sausages, fresh meats), Armenian candies/chocolates, teas, jellies, juices, dried fruits, beans/rice, and baked goods. Although this sounds like a ton; each category is quite limited. Plus, the store is tiny and cramped and more than likely goes against some sort of fire code. If you are claustrophobic, Mousa Ler is NOT your cup of tea (pun intended). Prices are HIGH in comparison to other Armenian/Middle Eastern markets I have visited. Even tea is expensive which is a Middle Eastern staple! Mousa Ler is only recommended if you are in 100% desperation mode and are willing to pay a high price for those Middle Eastern guests who are 5 minutes away from your home and you are out of their choice of food item. Basically, don't expect any savings here. Overall, Mousa Ler is not a market to browse for fun, not intended for small wallets, and is not suggested for those who aren't Armenian unless you like feeling like a carnival freak a la the Elephant Man. read more

Rude, crowded, overpriced! They have some of the worst employees I have ever encountered in a store. Their dairy items such as cheese is frozen and old. I purchased string cheese that seemed to have been frozen previously. When I brought it home and opened it, the cheese was slimy and stuck together. Two days later in the fridge it was all moldy and I had to trash it. I purchased their ready made salads and sides and everything that I had bought, I trashed. Flavorless and disgusting! This store is amazing I've been going here since the 1st day it opened up. If you're looking for any kind of Armenian food or Russian food they have it here and there is no need to go anywhere else. All the Staff are very friendly from the girls in the front all the way to the Butchers in the back. The meat vegetables fruits are all fresh with very reasonable pricing. I'm not really sure how this place has such great reviews but I'm sure because most people are either owners friends/family and because 90% of the people who shop here are over 60. I'm not going to lie they are convenient and open the day after new year unlike most markets in the area which is why I chose to do business with them in the first place. I had decided to do a small gathering for my birthday with a few relatives and since they were conveniently open I went to the store in person and placed an order for 3 pounds of chicken and 3 pounds of beef BBQ. The man at the meat counter was elderly so I made sure I told him in Armenian that I wanted chicken breast BBQ. I was very specific because that's the only type of meat I eat once in a while. Took my order and I left. I go back around 5 to pick up and he tells me don't open this until you're ready to serve it so it stays nice and fresh. Didn't think twice about it and stupidly left. I got home and now that my guests have arrived it's time to put everything on a nice serving platter. I opened up the boxes and I see chicken thighs and burnt beef. I couldn't believe it. After telling the guy that I only eat chicken breast he gives me chicken thighs!! I tried calling but they were already closed. I put it on the table and literally nobody ate the burnt charcoal looking beef or the chicken thighs. To some people this might not be a big deal but there's a reason why there are different cuts of meat because everybody prefers something different. I was livid. Not even my dogs ate it! 6 pounds of meat and over $60 all went to the trash. Next day I went to the store early morning before going to work and of course only the cashier was there. I asked if a manager would be in soon and she said she didn't know. I called again the next day to speak to someone and of course a manager doesn't exist. Again went in and nobody was there. Finally on Monday I walked in and the guy who sold me the meat was there. I walked up to him and said you know the beef was literally burnt like charcoal and the chicken wasn't chicken breast it was chicken thighs! He tells me well that's how everyone likes their beef cooked and what's the difference chicken thighs taste better they are both soft mean and starts laughing. I was appalled and shocked. I told him that I specifically asked you for chicken breast and told you that's the only thing I eat. He just started at me stupidly as if I was the one who was retarded. He was an older man so ya I felt a bit bad but to be treated this was is just beyond me and so not nice. Besides this I've had some bad encounters here in the past but I've put it behind me. A month ago I had bought 3 packs of buckwheat. Those things last a long time but when I opened 2/3 packs they had already gone bad and had mold growing inside of it. I've bought stale bread and fruits and veggies here too but that's it. After this encounter I'll never step foot here again. They have another yelp account too with 1 star. STAY AWAY! read more

I like visiting this store. They always have fresh fruits and veggies. I love visiting the deli section and getting the already marinated kebob meat and the quails. Whenever I get hungry, they are easy to make. I fry the quails and make the kebob meat in kebob size and pop them in the oven until ready. The servicenia pretty fast. The only bad part of visiting here is the parking as it is in a small plaza area. Good luck finding parking. They have a guy that helps but parking is still limited. read more

They refuse to follow Covid-19 precautions directed by mayor Garcetti, the State of California, and CDC. -Employees do not all wear masks -They do not monitor or restrict how many people come into the small store and it gets too crowded for people to remain the required six feet apart -Store employees, especially when stocking shelves, walk right up to you if you're standing where they want to be, without waiting a few seconds for you to take your item and step away or even say "excuse me" -Because the aisles are narrow, if two employees crowd you on both sides there is literally no place for you to walk or stand that is not violating physical distancing safety requirements This could be a good store, but there's nothing to discuss when it is unsafe to be in there. I regularly shop at Russian and Armenian markets within our neighborhood, so I know most of them really well. While you can find most of same items at fairly close prices in all of them, Mousa Ler offers two things that make it my favorite of all. It is their fresh meat / fish and friendly personnel. Not only we shop for groceries there, but we order hot food to go. I just placed my order for kabob, BBQ and tabbouleh now and, as usual, they are not trying to oversell. Just a friendly question - how many people so we can suggest the amount of meat since I couldn't figure out how much to order. On many occasions family members that own the store, have personally helped to take the bags to the car. Store is always clean and food prepared is yummy and fresh. I highly recommend. read more

For Thanksgiving I went to this market to buy meat for bbq, customer service in the meat department was very nice and friendly, cashiers were okay they could be little more welcoming but I guess not but most important the quality of meat was very disappointing, I purchased chicken breast and beef chunks, chicken came out to be great the beef half of it you could not eat it seemed like they mixed good meat with bad, it was so hard u could not chew it or even by hand separate, I'm posting this review because I had a lot of guest and I was ashamed for serving them that meat.
