We must have gone to this TJ's about 10 times during our weekend stay in Tucson. We were in an AirBnB in the Catalina Foothills, and made this our go-to for breakfasts and hiking snacks before heading out to Saguaro National Park. I've been in dozens of Trader Joe's' in my life, and this is easily one of the nicest. Great folks running the place, plenty of food in stock, and a airy, spacious layout so you're not constantly running into other shoppers. Parking is decent, but a little crowded, but the location of this store can't be beat. Love it! read more

Oh TJs, I can get into big trouble here! So much good, not so good for you, food! This location has always been good to me, staff is always friendly and offering help finding whatever I need. Store is clean and organized. I usually hit them up for their cheese, frozen goodies, nuts, and sometimes pastries. They've always had what I'm looking for in stock and usually things I'm not looking for that somehow end up in my cart. They offer entry into the monthly raffle for a $25 gift card if you bring your own bags! I've never seen the mysterious Trader Joe's hidden Lobster here... but I look every time. read more

Since my last visit a few notable changes have taken place- like more organic options, bulk produce is no longer there, and the beer options are better. As always- their cheese game is going strong. I like Trader's in general but this location sells rancid perishables--and I mean RANCID--over and over and over again. I have spoken and pleaded with management about solutions. First time at this Trader Joe's and it will more than likely be my last. I don't go to places I don't feel wanted. Not one employee spoke or asked if I needed help with anything. The entrance was empty, so no one was giving instructions on COVID expectations but there was hand sanitizer and wipes available. Since it was my first time in this particular Trader Joe's, I had to find my way... There were several employees stocking the shelves, a few when made eye contact but nothing more. Once I had found all my items, I went to stand in line for the register which just turned out to be one woman but there were two lines so I went to the other one. As I approached the guy was walking away so I asked if he was open? He said yes so I proceeded to put my cart down, I removed my reusable bag from the basket and proceeded to the other side of the register. C, Ricky is what my receipt says his name was, scans my items, he gets to the 5th of 18 or so and blurts out "we don't allow you to do that (bag my own items) but since you've already started, I'll let you finish. How would I know that if you saw me and my bag but wait until mid scan to tell me! I appreciate the store and employees working but you'll still have a duty to customer service and this place was lacking. read more

This is my favorite TJs out of the three I've been to in Tucson (Grant and Speedway locations). The produce is fairly cheap, a decent selection of meatless meat, and an ok frozen section for a vegan. Honestly the frozen section isn't super friendly for vegans, beyond the fruits and veggies. Trader Joe's has a list of what's vegan for the whole store on their website, if you need ideas! It's a good place too to get some pretty/cheap flowers and greeting cards. They also have a good wine selection, along with beer and liquor. read more

Corona chronicle, episode 2, the new normal: The trip to Trader Joe's. Normally, Trader Joe's is a out of the way plus a little hectic on a regular day for me so I don't often go there. I happened to be in the neighborhood, so I went to the parking lot and decided it looked pretty chill. I put on my mask & went forth. The sun was shining, there was fun beachy music playing outside There was a calm smiling friendly greeter that gave me a "sanitized cart or basket option" He gave a me really warm welcome to the store. This was a nice touch. Inside the store people were wearing their masks and being mindful of each other's spaces. Everything was stocked and clean, no rummage sale end of the world empty shelves here. No scrimmage for the meat or toilet paper. It felt.....normal. The check out line was calm, the people stood on their safety lines and no one was impatient. The cashiers had a nice sneezeguard in which they could safely stand. This was the first time since this whole pandemic started that it felt "normal" to shop. I didn't feel rushed, I had a little joy of adventure and I got to buy some fun treats. Damn, I missed grocery shopping without anxiety. THANK YOU Trader Joe's, whatever magic spell you did today.....keep doing it, it's working. My "unessential" haul of things that brought me joy. I freakin' love TJ's. I can't live without one near me. I do all of my grocery shopping there. People who haven't been to TJ's assumes that since it is a healthy food store is expensive...but it's not! In fact, there are many items that are cheaper than regular grocery store items. For instance, TJ's has OJ for $1.99! Their cereal is pretty cheap too. And I get my favorite Proseco for just $5.99 a bottle! HOLLER. The only thing I dislike about TJ's is that they make you buy select vegetables in bulk. For instance, I wanted a green pepper, but they came in packages of two...I didn't want 2, I wanted 1! My favorite TJs! Everyone is so nice and helpful here. The parking lot can get a little crazy, but you'll always find a spot. The staff is always quick to recommend new seasonal items, and I love that. With so many new items each season, I never get get a chance to try them all, so I love when someone shares their fav with me (example: just bought truffle mac and cheese! Can you say heaven?). I also love getting my birthday/thank you cards here, they are only $1 but seriously so cute you'd never know! All around, I love coming here for fun food selections you might not find at a regular grocery store, plus my fresh basics. Prices aren't "whole foods" level either- gotta love that. read more

Trader Joe's has been a longtime staple for me. From the tasty salad add-ins to the easy frozen meals, Trader Joe's has helped me from my picky teenage girl days to my I'm-on-a-budget-and-dont-wanna-get-dressed-to-go-out-to-dinner college days. But this Trader Joe's is the absolute worst. They are always under-stocked and the infamous bagging that I have come to love and admire is not present. This Trader Joe's needs to train their employees better, and Tucson needs to not be so stingy with their inventory levels. read more

Its nice to see a business support the Marijuana industry so much so that they let their employees come to work high. My gripes about this place, they used to carry other brands, now everything is Trader Joes brand. Their hot sauces are HORRIBLE! FYI. Hey, wanna buy one little crown of broccoli for your omelet? Yeah, No! You have to buy a whole bag. Zucchini, just one? Nope! Package of 6! Produce section is a joke! Lots of other great stuff though at good prices. So, it's not like I miss Portland already or anything, but I will say it was sort of a nice surprise to see a Trader Joe's in the middle of the desert. Like an oasis, perchance? Before you go and get all hot and bothered, YES, I KNOW, Trader Joe's is definitely a chain, and not exclusively an Oregon thing (obvs.), even though the granola-crunchiness makes it seem like it should be. Anyhoo, so the place I'm staying has (or had, I should say) pretty much no food. Time for a grocery stop to fill up! Generally, TJ's isn't the first place I go for full-on groceries. I get lots of snacky-snacks here. However, today I hit the jackpot. The house is now filled with delicious goodies like bagels, yogurt, granola, and fruit. And after state tax, I got a whole bag of shiznit that will last me the whole week for under $25!! Hip-hip-hooray for TJ's!! read more

It's ok if you like Trader Joe's. I go for the goat's milk creamy cheese (TJ brand and so delicious), organic arugula (lowest price in town), and Kashi 7 grain crackers. With Trader Joe's brand ANYTHING be sure to look at the ingredients. Their marketing is clever. Many of their products are not as healthy for you as they would like you to think. Like most Trader Joe's, the aisles are very narrow and it's a real pain in the ass to maneuver around people who are taking up the entire aisle. I feel a bit claustrophobic in TJ's. I've a plan to ride my bike (before 10:00am of course) to TJ's via the Rillito River path. read more

I do love Trader Joes. I can't get all my grocery shopping done here, but can pick up a variety of fun, healthy options that I can't get anywhere else. Fresh meat & fish selection is a bit overpriced, but not as outrageous as Whole Foods. Cheese selection is amazing and diverse. Very difficult to select just one or two indulgences. Produce is limited. Frozen foods...very good to stock up on. Perfect for lunches, fast meals, fast sides etc. Wine selection...cheap and extensive. I don't drink wine, so I have to rely on the input of my SO in this department. Beer is a bit limited - though decent, a bit pricey compared to grocery stores - except for the Trader Jose, and the tallboys. Now carries hard liquor, at what seems to be decent pricing. Staff is always kind and clearly enjoy working for Trader Joes. Always have input on the food as they ring it up..."this is amazing...have you tried?" read more

Like most Hawaii residents, when I travel to the mainland, I have to bring home snacks for the family and co-workers. Trader Joe's is great for that. This is a good location. I had no trouble parking, there wait at checkout was quick. The people seemed nice. Bought the best ever ginger snaps and some chocolate with caramel and salt. Both were big hits. read more

The side of my brain that directs me to trader joes screams the following arguments: - Cheese section, best ever, always something new and delicious to try. I haven't quite been able to put my finger on the reason why it's fun to shop at Trader Joes. I won't even try and pretend I don't love this grocery store. It's the closest thing I've found to my favorite grocery chain back home. The selection is good, even though sometimes the produce isn't the freshest I've ever seen. What keeps me coming back is the fact that the prices often require double-takes. Some of the food here is cheaper than I can understand. Mind you, I'm not one to question it, but there it is. What do I love most about it though? It's right down the street. In order to make dinner for our hosts in Tucson, we needed to suppliment their pantry staples with some decadent goodies and since TJ's Lounge was right down the road, zoomed on over. Stocked up on bruschetta, pesto, mini french baguettes, penne, a set of 2 mini chocolate lava cakes, seasoned fake chicken strips, white beans and frozen roasted veggies and some other assorted snacks (bananas, cliff bars, carrot juice for the morning) and more for under $40 bucks, way less than we would have spent for Valentines Day. i kept getting distracted by all the items we definitely do not have in Tempe and we decided to stop here before heading home (we even had our Trader Joes bags in the car-how yuppie prepared and green are WE)! We picked up some Thai style crackers and nuts, apricort kernals (the poor mans almonds), hemp cereal, pulled pork style fake meat, vanilla granola bars, brazil nuts, I mean the list goes on, really. i love the staff ........... They are super friendly and nice for the majority. I usually find one checker or staff person who chats me up each time I go. It is nice for me since I live and work alone. Gives the good vibes like the old days of going to a hippie grocery store minus the patchouli oil and the stench of seasoned body order. For such a small store they stock a huge number of choice. The store brand is a good choice and good price. If you are watching food intake, be sure to read the labels - it is Not health food. I love their premade salads. I get 2 meals out of them.. Be sure to check the expiration date since they might be very close. I do allow myself a comfort food snack to enjoy now and then ...... but read the label as those tasty treats can have a pickup truck load of calories. I am so happy that I can even bike here. I frequent this Trader Joe's, as it's on the way home from work and close to my gym. I love walking around here! Unique products, friendly staff, and a nice lay-out. I could (and sometimes do) spend an hour just wandering to scope out the fun & tasty new treats. Love trader joes it's awesome and has everytbing.you are looking for...even if you go without needing anything you walk out with a few bags lol. They have so many healthy options and I love the prices they are cheaper than the co ops on quite a few items. Love that they have samples also. The beer section is awesome and it's almost as impressive as their cheese section. Since I started to eat a little better lately I was so impressed with many vegetarian and vegan food choices. Trader Joe's has been a staple my entire life and I honestly don't know if I could live without it. I don't shop here for everything, but there are products that I am absolutely head over heels for. For starters, their dairy products... cottage cheese, yogurt, and so many varieties of cheese! The frozen sections, what would this grad student do without meatless chicken mcnuggets? Also, for time convenience... cubed butternut squash, cooked lentils, trimmed brussel sprouts. I could go on and on, and that's only hitting the top of the iceberg. read more

Trader Joes has totally spoiled me. It's the perfect size with just the right amount of products. Now when I go into a Safeway size grocery store I want to run and hide, how can I choose between 50 different options of soy sauce? Trader Joes is pretty awesome for most things, great cheese selection, great fresh breads, convenient frozen vegetables. And of course a fantastic affordable wine section. The only thing we really avoid here is the produce. It's never very fresh or tasty, the onions are fine as well as say the potatoes, but otherwise we just head elsewhere. If the produce was fantastic as well I'd definitely give Trader Joes 5 stars. And it must be mentioned my favorite part of any Trader Joes trip would of course be the sample station.
