Decent bar food. Went here for lunch with a few coworkers. Fish and chips were pretty good, but our service was pretty slow considering the restaurant was relatively empty. Two people in our party ended up having to leave their cards with us so they could make a meeting on time. This was a last minute decision after a mistake with our movie times at the nearby theater. So we decided to eat dinner first. Despite the weak reviews on Yelp, I decided to give this place a try. I was really disappointed. Everything tastes like the same fried batter with the flavor what's inside the batter totally masked. I should have tried something that isn't fried, but I have a weakness for pub food. I got the fried pickles first, which are not pickle chips. They are sorta like the sandwich stacker pickles. Cut length wise and flat/thin. Makes them less of a finger food. I prefer the small pickle chips. I got the fish and chips as my actual meal, and I couldn't tell a difference in taste between the pickles, fish, and fries. All were very greasy, and the batter was too thick. I also felt the fish was over cooked. One plus side, we had a very polite server. I gave her a good tip because she's not the cook and her service was excellent. Piss poor experience. Came in 2 hours prior to their listed closing time and after about 5-10mins of waiting at our table, the waitress came and said the kitchen's closed. There were numerous other people in the restaurant so it's not like it was a slow night and they were closing early or anything. I frequent this spot a lot and have always had good experiences. However last Thursday was the WORST experience I have ever had in a restaurant. Not because of the food or the the wait or the covid restrictions but because of a server that wasn't even mine!! I was eating with my husband at a table and watched an exchange between a server and a customer and this young woman told a customer she was going to spit in his drink! At first I thought it was a joke but then I watched that young man walk to the bar to get his drink and I knew that they were not kidding with each other. In the middle of a global pandemic and this woman tells a customer trying to keep her business alive that she will SPIT IN HIS DRINK?? My husband and I immediately paid our bill and left. To my dismay, I went in 2 days later for lunch and this woman was behind the bar making EVERYONES drinks.I will never visit this establishment again. I am disgusted and appalled at the lack of human decency with which this business is run. We had a huge party we had planned on brining into that bar for March Madness and now we have to drive even farther from home, I will not subject my peers and friends to anything that disturbing. TM surprised me -love this place! Food is really good, not boring and greasy like you'd expect from pub food. First time, I tried the chicken BLT salad with thick, crunchy fried green tomatoes -- still dreaming about it. Next time, started into their fresh hand-rolled fried cheese -crunchy, fluffy, chewy hot heaven, omg. Friend had the garlic knots - also amazing - but I had to save room for my main course, the "Ultimate BLT" sandwich with applewood smoked bacon. Mmm bacon! Friend had a good looking pizza and cup of soup. We washed it all down with local brews -- they have too many different kinds to mention -- but we had a Sun King and a Flat 12. This was really good, and I have to say, I'm not a bar person, so when my daughter said to try this place I hesitated, because it has Bar in the name. I was meeting a friend who works nearby and we didn't want a chain place so we tried it. It was late afternoon and it wasn't too busy so we were unsure. The young woman who welcomed us was nice and had a big smile so we figured it might be ok. The menu looked good, I wasn't sure what to get, as there were a lot of things I would like. I'm trying to avoid bread, and they were fine with leaving it off, and the waitress recommended the organic broccoli which surprised me that they would have such a thing in a Bar. I got the broccoli with my grilled chicken, and it was delicious, more delicious than broccoli ever is. I thought everything would be fried. My friend went for the tenderloin but got it grilled, in deference to me probably. :-) It was quite nice sized and had perfect grill lines on it. I asked for a bite (just a little cheat on my bread) and wow, that was really good. A few of my friend's Cajun coin fries also disappeared, I admit! The prices were very reasonable. The food came out pretty fast, and our waitress was very attentive. The owner came by, and she refilled our drinks, and asked how it all was, and I was happy to report it was surprisingly excellent. As we were leaving, we noticed there were a lot more people there than when we came in. I did not like the fact that my waitress told me that I did not have to wear mask in that restaurant???? It's the mandate for the entire state placed by our Governor ? She had mask under chin so I explained to her that I would like to keep us both safe ? Then I saw new owner walking around without a mask ??? No wonder the poor waitress isn't following rules since her boss doesn't seem to care to follow the law! Terrible example to set for your employees. I could not have felt more welcomed and at home when I first went to Trader's Mill. I was in town for work and was looking for a place to get some local brews. Trader's Mill delivered on that, had the NBA Finals game showing on their big projection screen, and our server, Bre, was particularly kind. Bre made sure we were taken care of, checked in often, and sealed the deal that we'd come back in the future! We visited this on St. Patrick's day weekend, so our experience may reflect the chaotic crowds. It took us over ten minutes to be served after seating ourselves, and we weren't greeted with the most friendly server. We ordered wings and the basket of fries. The basket of fries was an awesome value, it's basically a bucket of fries. The bone in wings were great, the boneless...not so much. They reminded me of frozen Tyson Buffalo wings from the grocery store. I tend to go here when I'm with a large group of my coworkers but I can say that they've always accommodated our group well. The food is excellent whether you're looking at just ordering appetizers or sitting down to a full meal. (I'd highly recommend their fish and chips if you're into that.) first surprise was the size of the place. huge place with high ceilings. walk in the south door, walk around the wall and you are immediately greeted by a sea of tables. mostly lower eating tables, though there are 4 high tables along the south & west wall. great for groups. after the eating area is a large "U" shaped bar with stools on three sides. past the bar and traders mill frosted glass divider are pool tables and games. big ten & indiana college team bannes hang from the ceiling, along with several 42" hdtvs, making traders mill a great place to watch the big game. carpeted expect for the stage area (SW corner) and the gaming area. windows on the south & west sides, but every time i've been, the blinds, frustratingly, have been shut. decent bar (stick with the sandwiches or pizza) and very attentive staff. bar itself is a black pressed wood with a standard wooden rail. small hanging lights over the bar provide the right amount of light. barback on the east wall is mostly shelves, while in the middle of the bar are the bottles/taps. atmosphere is centered around sports, aside when there's a band or other activity. good place to stop for a drink & bite to eat. read more

The food was extremely meh. The pork tenderloin was thick and tasted more ambiguous than I care for. The trader chips were bland and bad. The fish was blah. The pickle chips were decent.
