I sat at the bar and was served by the owner of the Pub, who is from the UK. I loved chatting with him about the pub and all the fun things that go on there. I happened to come in on Trivia Night, which gets a decent crowd! For dinner, I ordered the Braised Beef Guinness pie and a Guinness to go with it. The pie comes out steaming hot with a nice layer of browned mashed potatoes on top. There is real crust to this kind of pie. Underneath the mashed potatoes is more like beef stew. Large chunks of tender beef and vegetables are sitting in a delicious Guinness stew. On the side, a fresh salad to go with it. For $24 the portion you get is perfect and along with a good pint of beer this is the way to go. I will definitely be back to try some of their other food!

My wife and I had just visited Abbey Tavern this past weekend, a premier Scottish pub in the City, and we expected a similar atmosphere. However, the moment we showed up, we were met with great disappointment. The Goose & Fern is honestly a terrible place to watch a sports match: there was only a single TV mounted in the back corner of the restaurant, the TV wasn't particularly large, and the speakers had been turned completely off. What a bust. Although the food was decent, especially the Shepherd's pie -- which came piping hot in a small cast iron skillet, the service was downright dreadful and almost non-existent. We never received waters (or were even asked if we wanted beverages), our table wasn't given enough silverware, we were never checked on during the meal, and we were waiting around for 30 minutes twiddling our thumbs before somebody from our party finally went up to try to pay for the check. In hindsight, a tip was not warranted for the lack of service. Overall, Yelp grossly misled me on The Goose & Fern. This is not a spot I would stop by again to watch a sporting match. If you're in this part of Santa Rosa, do yourself a favor and head over to Dave and Busters down the street where they have a bunch of massive screens, tons of beer options, and service that will far surpass what you're getting here.

I'm so glad I did stop in this. I got some breakfast tacos. They are definitely some of the best I've had around. They are full of lots of eggs and meat choice. I got a little salsa that went with it and let me tell you I was one happy camper. I'm definitely gonna check out their lunch menu because some of the sandwiches looked so good. Staff was really nice and friendly. They had the TV on outside. This is definitely a good spot for big groups.

The potatoes and crab were dark and gummy, and everything had that unmistakable taste of being cooked in old, overused grease. The egg was supposed to be poached but was actually a medium hard-boiled egg with hollandaise on top -- not even close to what a benedict should be. To add to the frustration, I was overcharged for my mimosa. Another server confirmed the overcharge and said it was "probably just a mistake," but dining alone as a POC, I couldn't help but feel like it may not have been accidental. Last Father's Day, my husband ordered an omelet here and it came with canned mushrooms -- always a sign that a restaurant is cutting corners. Two visits and the same story both times: the quality just isn't there. I won't be returning.

My…read morehusband and I both had Impossible burgers which we were VERY appreciative of since we don't eat meat! We grabbed a spot on a bench overlooking the river and it was absolutely perfect! We love eating outdoors while on vacation and my husband especially loved seeing all the doggies. The bartender was super nice and friendly, and when I was asking him about the beers, he gave me two free samples so I could decide which one I wanted. Our only issue was with the bathrooms. It was the most vile and disgusting experience I've had in a restroom in a while. "All gender" restrooms are typically sketchy, but this one took the urinal cake. It was dark, dank, had graffiti everywhere, no ventilation, wetness all over the floor, urine in the toilet and all over the toilet, no toilet seat covers, and the scent of barnyard hanging in the air. I almost had a panic attack and could not wait to get out of there. To add insult to injury, there were no paper towels so I had to use my shirt to act as a barrier between my hand and the door handle as I was exiting. When my husband went in a little later, he decided to just hold it until we got back to our AirBnb. This place is too nice to have restrooms worse than port-a potties. I really hope they do something about it because my experience was pretty hard to shake afterwards and I had to block it out of my mind in order to enjoy my meal.

Subsequently when 3 of us sat down on one side, the bench became unbalanced and flipped over. Being in the middle, I wasn't able to clear the table so fell on my head and back. It took a few moments to compose myself. And after several minutes a woman showed up (manager?). She never identified herself but claims that never happened before. She never offered a medical attention but eventually came back and put a block on the bench so it wouldn't flip again. We were there about another hour and she never checked in with me. I do not recommend this place at it had incredibly slow service, clueless staff, and filthy bathrooms. I recommend the vending machines at the local gas station instead.
