The Elephant in the Room was highly recommended to us by the wine manager at Selby, and it did not disappoint! My friends and I were in town for a wedding, and after the welcome reception we walked over--it was the perfect spot to keep the celebration going. They serve only beer and wine, but the selection was excellent and everyone in our group of ~15 found something they enjoyed. The live reggae band was fantastic--we just wished they had played later into the night. The crowd was lively and fun, with lots of people dancing, smiling, and engaging with one another. All of us loved the Elephant in the Room and were still talking about it the next day. If any of us are back in Healdsburg, it will absolutely be on our list to return. Just go. Great Live music venue. I finally had a chance to stop off at The Elephant in The Room. Such a cool name for a cool club. They have the best live music. Lots of local musicians. Volker Strifler Band lured me to Healdsburg that night. And what a show. The place is very cozy. The music is played with an open canopy to the sky above. They have a small indoor bar with a nice selection of brews. Good service as well. The stage is right there, just a step up. So if you're dancing and swaying to the local grooves its pretty majestic. There is a good size dance floor. People are very friendly and not fancy like many places in Healdsburg. Check out their upcoming shows on their website and pay at the door, you can't go wrong at The Elephant in the Room nor Volker Strifler Band. read more

I got there just before the rush Sunday early afternoon. Believe it or not this is my first time coming here because i usually head to coyote den when im in that area but boy o boy am i glad i came! Some nights they have live music, this wasnt one of the times but they did have the Giants game playingso we grabbed some beers & chilled outside. I didnt realize they have some food til after we were closing our tab but the man handling the bar offered to bring us some peanuts to pair with our beers, yes please! The bartender dumped me wife's glass of wine before it was empty. I understand mistakes are made but, instead of giving her a splash of wine to make it right. She decided to argue and tell her the glass was empty. Even the other bartender told her to make it right and refill the glass. read more

Cool little bar with some great outdoor music. Just as you could imagine, little bar on the inside and then opens up to a great sized patio. We were there just in time to hear some great times and enjoy the ever so perfect weather. We had your basic rounds of beers, but the highlight of my experience was probably one of the best pretzels I've ever had on my life. I know that sounds odd and it may have been the alcohol, but it was magical. I was even kind enough to share a bite with my wife and cousin who would also agree. Not sure what it was, but I would fly back out there just for the friggin pretzel. Would definitely recommend stopping by to wet your whistle, listen to some lovely tunes and have your life changed by a pretzel. read more

Normally I'd give a 4 or 5 star review because i love the community feel of locals mixed with travelers from afar, and great music line ups. And several of the employees are very nice and one of the owners is a buddy of my hubby's and we loved and miss the old toad. But i don't think the owners were there last night from what we could tell. And i would have phone called to speak to someone before posting this review but they have no phone number nor email address listed, anywhere, from what i could research around the web. So here you go: Last night we went to a $30 ( day of price) show and got a $17 sandwich from the vendor out front and many beers, but when i realized my new car keys were missing i knew they couldn't be far because I'd not gone anywhere. When we asked two specific employees behind the bar who were very rude and uncompromising. They were too busy taking beer orders and counting receipts to waste their time. After asking those two about it they said nope, nothing on our counter, and that was the only place they would look. I knew i had probably left it on the food vendor table and they said only the owner or this one employee who was not there any longer would know. They said, oh it'll turn up call tomorrow or later in the week. All employees just trusted what the folks behind the bar said and no one would look further until my husband begged one of them to please text the food people. ( of which prior, when i asked, they acted like they had no idea how to reach the food vendor) No one gave us the curtesy of letting us know they did find the keys finally find the keys after texting food vendor who told them right where they were, a safer place than the messy back countertop. The same gal who was ultra rude to us finally admitted that she texted the food people who had kindly left my keys in a safe place much earlier in the evening (all along!) and that she actually had them right there at the elephant in the room. We had to call my son back whom we'd awoken in Santa Rosa to bring us the spare keys ( new car and expensive keys were not going to stay over night in that parking lot with an open car) and tell him he did not need to continue his drive, turn around we got the keys. The "elephant in the room" big message here is that at least two employees were very rude to us while we searched for the keys, clearly upset ( and three others were nice, but leaned on the advice of the two rude ones). Those two were so obviously disinterested and only concerned with money coming in the joint. And to be honest alcohol seemed to flow in front of the bar as well as the back. And my bottom line feeling is that when I'm paying a venue over $60 for just myself, i want quality customer service to go with it. read more

Bar maid was so rude to us. We ordered our drinks and food at the bar. She gave us our drinks and the proceeds to help 2 other parties before ordering our food and closing us out. Just beer n wine When the food came, my hand pie was cold inside and I asked the wonderful nice guy Casey if they were pre-frozen Because it was cold inside. He was so upset that he did give me a glass of wine for free and a new pie free which to be honest was very dry. I would go back to hear music. It was a wonderful location in the sun. read more

A quirky little multi-tap beer tasting room with a large outdoor seating area. I wouldn't call it even remotely elegant in a Tony wine tasting town like Healdsburg. It's pretty funky and blue collar in vibe. The beer selection is good, but not great, but then the folks who work in vineyards, wineries and serve wine and food need an affordable place to go. The downer about this place is the funky bathroom and people smoking all over on the patio. Nothing pretentious here but not many options for good craft beer in this town. My only huge complaint was this is my 3rd time here the bathroom reeks of urine and there are tons of smoking on the patio which is beyond nasty to us non smokers! Side note that's important. This place has a lowsy selection of booze and the food wasn't that great. I also don't trust their security. My wallet was stolen by the people next to me and the whole 2 staff supported the older gentlemen ranging 30 to 35ish years of age, saying they wouldn't do that and they were locals from windsor. I am a healdsburg local born and raised 21 years old. I was refused video footage and I don't even think they have cameras. I personally wouldnt trust any of my belonging or my cup at this establishment unless you are with a group. read more

We stopped in without expectations and enjoyed friendly, personable service, great beer and cider, fresh-made pizza (not always there) and some peanuts in the shell. Good times. I think that they also sell hot dogs? didn't get one. A band was visiting and cranked out a heck of a show - they offered earplugs (many folks present used them) to offset the really clean, but very loud, sound. There was dancing, there was drinking, indoors and outside. Everyone seemed to have a great time. I look forward to going again - either for some very pleasant day drinking, or for some live tunes (and drinking). The world needs more bars like this one. Well done, Elephants. read more

Let me explain the rating. We went to see a friend's band The Elecrtic Cats and this venu is great, maybe the best in Sonoma County. Music is outdoors. Not too big, not too small just right. Not too crowded, not to empty, just right. Reasonably priced drinks, unlike some other places in Beverly Healdsburg. Excellent draft beer selection and wine selection plus hard cider. Super friendly staff, including the bartender, guy at the door, etc. Very very nice bar. Lots of heaters to keep you warm outside. EZ parking, close to 101. Mixed demographic, not all 20s not all white hairs. Next time we will try the food. read more

This is exactly the kind of place that Healdsburg needs. Live music (kick ass band was there that night called Mr. December), friendly staff, a cute little pizza oven in the back, totally local, etc. we'll be back. Stopped by here with some friends. Liked the friendly demeanor of the staff and the low-key atmosphere. It's set back from the road so fairly quiet, and patio is a relaxing place for a good conversation. Beer on tap was super-cold which is always a plus. read more
