Love this old-school store that serves tasty drinks and is pretty much a small fruit market inside. I usually stop by here because parking is easy and also the drinks are my favorite. I will always order the sugarcane mixed with penny worth. I'm just guessing sizes...$6 large with ice, $7 extra large with ice. $7 small with no ice, $14 extra large with no ice. - $7 Sugarcane, and kumquat is sweet because of the sugarcane. It's the one of the most popular drinks. So loved it. If I have to order it for myself, I'll ask for less sugarcane cause I'm more sensitive to it. - $7 Pennywort and young coconut comes with small coconut shreds to snack on after AND no sweetener. Most places actually add too much sweetener. I'll probably ask for a tiny amount of sugarcane next time in this to balance the taste out. Came by two days ago with the hopes of checking out the fresh fruit. The lady working behind the counter was nice, explaining what fresh fruits were available, As soon as I saw the finger bananas I knew I had to have a hand and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. They were delicious! Passed on the Sunshine papayas this time as they were 4 in a box for $35.00, a little more than I wanted to spend. I did pick up a bag of fresh lychees and opened them as soon as I got home. Sadly most were wet and moldy, so disappointed. If you want big portions of Vietnamese fresh fruit, this is the spot. I came here for sugar cane and pennywort drinks and it did not disappoint. Their cup size is HUGE. It's like a big gulp from 7/11. It seems to be a family owned store so expect a slight wait if there are 3-4 people waiting in front of you. The owner speaks limited English , but it's totally fine. Her daughter is usually there on weekends and that helps , but there's usually no problem with a language barrier. Overall, I would NOT recommend coming here for sugarcane juice. I would prefer to go somewhere like Fresh Canes and pay a little more because I know it is fresh squeezed and the quality of product is MUCH higher and worth the money. I assume the juice she gave me was probably juiced the day before, based on its lack of taste. I have had sugarcane juice here approximately 50 times over the last few years - often the largest size and with no ice. They make it when you order it (unlike some other nearby places that pre-squeeze it which dramatically alters the taste the longer you wait to drink it) and it tastes like the best thing I've ever had every time I have it. Sometimes, I have it with kumquat or half coconut water. Both variations are really good. Never actually gotten around to trying the many smoothie drinks they offer, but there are a lot of good-looking options available. Non-drink items: Besides sugarcane, I most often get mangoes by the box and they're always of good quality. Their pre-peeled (refrigerated) jackfruit is very fresh tasting - I opt for the ones that are more pale as they have a milder (but still very good) taste and texture which you might prefer as well unless you are looking for a "super" jackfruit taste and bit slimier of a texture (which can be found with the ones that are a darker yellow). They carry some dried fruit including bananas which are extremely good. Also, if you are looking for things like mangosteens, rambutan, and lychee, they usually have one or all of these in stock as well as ~10-20 other types of fruits. I go here almost every time I'm in the area - seems a shame there aren't hundreds of little stores just like this all over. They have tons of fruits as this is a place where you can buy your fruits, so practically any fruit they sell, they can make it into a smoothie/juice. My absolute favorite would be the jackfruit. Typically all of these drinks are $5 flat and cash is preferred unless you pay with card, there's a minimum fee. For a 24 oz real fruit smoothie that's $5 is such a good offer. The people who said that the juice isn't fresh are probably SO used to drinking syrups and powdered juice by the gallon at their local vendor to the point that they are no longer able to distinguish between fresh squeeze and artificial flavoring. I saw with my own little eyes the lady putting a lot of fresh sugar cane into her juicer and pour them on the glass before she served them to us. Good sugar cane juice should have that golden green color. Some of the bonker reviewers complain that sugar cane juice taste too sweet. What do you expect? Where do you think people make sugar from? I was eating next door at the Veggie Life Restaurant and just couldn't stop staring into this shop, they have large variety of exotic fruits. I devoured my dinner as quick as I could, so I could stop by before they closed. Its very spacious and bright and there are 2 sweet ladies running the store. I don't understand much Vietnamese, but no matter what language you speak you know when someone is greeting you with a warm smile. The continued to speak to me in Vietnamese, but when I said that i don't understand then 1 of them started to talk to me in English.
