My cousin and I wanted to get our drinks on and so we came here. This place is a wonderful fruit store near the corner of Valley Blvd and Monterey Ave. I did enjoy the smell of fresh fruits as I entered the store. Been here before for the agua frescas they usually have it on display by the window but they had it in the back this time. The owner was nice and made our frescas out of Dragon Fruit. In fact he told us he put a whole fruit in each of our huge cups. I could tell when I took a pull from my cup and noticed the creamyness of the Dragon Fruit fresca. Really yummy! Visiting my friend in El Monte, she brought me to La Fruta Feliz to pick up some fruit for her parents. We walked in and looked at pictures on the wall of what they had until someone saw what we were doing and handed me a menu in English. We ended up getting a chamango, a magoneada, and a bionico. When asked the difference between the chamango and magoneada drinks, we were told that they had the same ingredients but that the magoneada was frozen. Anyone who knows me knows I love tamarind so when I saw the addition of a tamarind straw, I got really excited! I had the chamango. The chamoy (basically a savory and spicy sauce created from fruit that has been put in a brine and the resulting brine is seasoned with chile powder and the final product is chamoy) and the mango mixed together were a perfect combination. Stir in that tamarind straw and you've got yourself a winner! For more of a slushee-type drink, go with the magoneada. Same thing but frozen chips of ice that make it refreshing. We also had the bionico for dessert. I enjoyed the combination (strawberry, cantaloupe, papaya, banana, apple, granola, raisins, shredded coconut, and sweet cream) but the sweet cream was a bit too runny for me. I will say that I normally dislike raisins but I did eat them in the bionico. It was the first time I'd ever had any of these items so I was thankful for the experience and would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone! read more

The owner/manager of "La Fruta Feliz" was very unprofessional when assisting me with my order today. He seems to be a young man about 25-30 years old. I asked for extra lemon and tajin for my fruit and he looked very upset and bothered by the request. He proceeded to cut me off every-time I tried to speak and it was very uncomfortable. His negative attitude towards me made me ask him to speak to a manager. He proceeded to tell me that he was the manager and that he owned this place. I was shocked because as a manager you should care and provide the best service to your customers especially those who come frequently. It's very upsetting to say that he was very unprofessional and that I will not be returning to this location as long as he is in charge. read more

My friend and I were at the DMV for hours on a hot day. My friend told me about this place and we decided to go since it was a couple streets away. This is my friends favorite spot for chamangos. We went at around 4:30 pm and it was pretty busy. The place is by the valley mall but it's pretty hidden. I had never seen it and I've been to the valley mall a few times. They have a huge parking area across the street but it is shared with all of the other business's. We didnt have any trouble with parking. The place itself is really small. It is not the cleanest place I've been to which is the only reason they get 4 stars. They sell fresh fruits, a variety of drinks, raspsados, bionicos, and much more. Their prices are very reasonable. I got a raspsado for only $2!!! What I loved about this place is that the raspsados actually taste like authentic fruit!!! Unlike the ones that the corn man sells (which are like $1.50 now) and taste like nothing but artificial flavors. They even add real fruit at the top. I read some of the reviews and everyone raves about their bionicos so I'm definitely gonna try that next time!! Customer service was great!! The place is owned by a Mexican man, very sweet man. The only thing I didn't like was when we got there I'm guessing he was in the back because there weren't any workers inside the place. There were like 6 customers waiting.
