I really love Neighbors Tea House. My mom and I would often go to their Rowland Heights location before it closed down. I'm really happy they still have this location. They are in a really small plaza with options to park in the plaza or street parking nearby. The interior was quaint with a few small tables. Staff here was very friendly and efficient. I came a bit close to closing time and I felt guilty but I was in the area and really wanted a sweet treat for the drive home. They were really friendly and quick with my order. I had the Smashed Avocado and Durian ($8.75) which is the #1 item on their signature list. I took it on the road because I really didn't want to keep them pass closing. Love love love! Just as delicious as I remembered it. The really use quality ingredients because durian is a sensitive ingredient. If they don't use good ones it can get sus. The durian is creamy and custard-like at the base with some jelly bites for texture, then there's a blend of sweet milk of some kind, and then topped with the avocado blend. Yum! Perfection! This is still my favorite place to go to! I wished there were multiple locations (so sad when their Rowland Heights location closed). It just makes it more special when I can venture out to Rosemead. This place has great pricing - very fair! It is clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly and prompt. I love seeing Hailey (the owner). She always make time for a quick chat. All the drinks are awesome! But if I have to choose my favorite drinks, they are Jasmine Milk Tea with Honey or Crystal Boba and Smashed Avocado & Durian with Rainbow Jelly. You have to try it to understand how amazing this drink is. There is no way to better describe it. It is just that good! Of course you have to love durian! I never knew durian would taste good with avocado but it DOES! This is such a unique drink, and there is no other place that makes it. There are other drinks that are unique to this place only. The creamy avocado paired well with the the durian. It's not overly sweet but the fruit and jelly are nice pops of flavor. It takes a while to come out tho so be aware of that. There's a lot of components to it and they get busy. It's also loud because of the blending, so not a great place to stay at. Just get in and out! We ended up getting the smashed avocado and durian signature drink. This drink was bomb, everything was made fresh, both the durian and avocado were fresh. It's uncommon to see a tea house sell fresh durian and this place does it right. The flavors worked well together even though I thought it wouldn't. It's a bit pricey at like $8 something but that's not too bad since it was almost like a dessert rather than just a drink. They were running a blender the entire time, though I did not see anyone order a blended drink or a smoothie. There is a small amount of seating, and a partially done flower wall. The drinks themselves were just okay. The Sea Salt topped coffee had a very bitter end note and the Matcha was grassy and sweet. It's nestled right by a car shop on Rosemead Boulevard. It's also near Rosemead High School and an In N Out. Parking lot is a little small, however, there is street parking. When you walk into the shop located in a small plaza across the street from InNOut and Jack in the Box, it's very small and extremely hot during the summer heat. They didn't smash the avocado enough and there were many huge chucks that were the width of apprx 3 inches. The avocado didn't seem ripe enough either, extremely firm and rubbery.
