The Trainwreck may be considered a bar, but the food served there is a couple notches above what I would call typical 'bar food'. Finally got to experience breakfast, and much like the many lunch or dinner meals I've ate at the 'Wreck, it did not disappoint. I had the smoked brisket has with perfectly cooked home fries and 2eggs over easy served on top. Absolutely wonderful favors and perfectly seasoned. I recommend the Trainwreck to anyone who hasn't tried it. It's a must! At least once! Can't wait to go back. read more

Usually like this place. I got the derailed burger(not my usual choice). The burger was average. Not what I expect from this joint. My favorite part was the sweet potato fries. A little undercooked, but still tasted okay. read more

Fun little dive bar. The salmon ceasar salad is to die for. Fresh, properly spiced and cooked salmon with a homemade dressing and homemade croutons. Wow. I've eaten a ceasar at the place it was invented and this is really close! Prices are right and the service is fantastic. Hands down the best food in Skagit County. You can't go wrong with any dish, but I usually get the fish tacos...the fish and veggies in the taco are great, the sauce is very tasty. Beer selection is good, too. read more

This "restaurant" does not allow children at all. It is not really obvious from any of the reviews but it is against the law for children in Washington to go into what is considered a bar. If you have children with you do not bother! read more

Best place in town for awesome food! Amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner, it's always the first place I recommend if any of my customers ask where is a good place to grab some food. I've read some people posting that it can be slow for service, but I've never really had to deal with it there. Some people don't take into consideration that if a place is completely packed, they might have to wait a little longer, and believe me, it's worth the wait! On top of all the awesome food, they also do a good amount of charity events there to support the local community, and the people in it.....pretty rate to find that these days! read more

Impressed! Very much so. I honestly think there were about 20 workers and they did not stand around. If you wanted to ask a question they seemed to have that sixth sense and smile and ask if you needed anything. But, wow. What hussle. Large beer selection and it changes. Another thing that impressed me. I got an ipa and I had heard of the brewery but couldn't place it. I mentioned I liked it and asked her where it was from and she said southern California without hesitation. I was hungry but had trouble choosing from quite an excellent menu but kept looking at the ladies plate next to.me and went for my usual fish and chips. Decided to go a little different and changed it to onion rings for the extra $1.50. She asked if I wanted one piece fish or two. Well after looking at the dish next to me I said 2. Huge pieces. Turned out the lady had chicken strips. Must have been a big.bird. I'll have to try it. Another item that caught my.eye was the calimari burger. I will definitely go back. Great job to all of the employees there and the boss/manager who knows how to pick good people and.more than anything treat them as an important part of good business. Best Bar and restaurant in Skagit County! All the food is exceptionally good, handmade and bought from the locals in the area. Definitely not just your average "bar food" at all. We love the Trainwreck, and it's one of our favorite places to eat. I've never felt like we had bad service while here. My only complaint would be the fish sandwich which had so much marinating going on that it completely hid the fish taste. I love the philly here, I usually feel disappointed when I order the philly at other places. Now I just tell myself to wait until my next Trainwreck visit. My only complaint is how loud this place is- but I guess when you have an old building with character you have to compromise for loud visits. read more

Great place - good atmosphere, attentive and friendly wait staff and tasty food! We were happy to find this place during our one night in town. They had a decent beer selection and offer $1 shots of well liquor whenever a train goes by. We had the Smoked Brisket Fritters which were a fantastic idea and delicious. The wings were decent for boneless style and the grilled cod tacos were very tasty - the fish was well cooked and plentiful. Will stop for sure if we're ever in the area again! read more

Went in on a Saturday right at the cusp of the end of breakfast/beginning of lunch. We were lucky enough to get the last table before a large crowd gathered right after us. I got the Smoked Brisket Hash, which was amazing! Girlfriend had the Corned Beef Hash, which was also very good. The waitress could have been more attentive, but she was pretty busy. It would have been nice to have my water glass re-filled and have her bring the hot sauce in a more timely manner though. But I won't squabble over that. We will definitely be going back again, as the large menu has many, many more items I want to try. Great place! read more

the food is great and variety is good. great presentation. We have been driving there for years from Marysville just for the food. Some issue have started that usually mean an end to a really great find. There portions for some plates are use to be really big and they use to have 1/2 portions that were perfect. in the last few months they have changed that to where you can only get a full portion. I had the brisket hash today and it was good but now the portion is the size of the 1/2 portion. I also love the chicken and waffles and today they had also made that a full portion only. I asked if they had the 1/2 portion and what I was told was they went to the full portion so they wouldn't waste a half of a waffle. Really?? LOL it is way to much and they also increase the price of the full portion. They are really busy now, way more than when all of us supported them in the early days. I guess success will drive out higher prices and smaller portions. I will now have to find a new best restaurant in the future. It is sad to see this occurring since that usually changes the whole ambiance of the great restaurant that it use to be. Good luck and on to better more stable places read more

Train Wreck is our any time of day "go to" for a meal. My family and I are repeat offenders. I love their breakfast menu, but mostly we are too late arriving and end up with lunch. I always take out of town guests there. The Bloody Mary Meal is a superstar. Someone orders one every time! Everything is prepared fresh. Never a disappointment. Portions are very generous. We love yelling "shots" whenever a train goes by! Each time we try to get something different. Usually bring half home. I love their fish & chips! Their burgers are ridiculous. Their breakfasts are insane. The monte cristo... There is nothing that has been less than fabulous. Even the salads! They even serve late night food. Sushi is awesome too! They do get very busy, so expect to share tables or be prepared to wait a bit. Well worth it. After a full dining change, it does take a bit for the kitchen to catch back up with the new orders, but very well worth a little extra time. Enjoy! I always do! read more
