During the training, we focused heavily on "place" and learning how to use the e-collar. While our dog did pick up the basics, he unfortunately continues to struggle with reactivity and aggression even after the sessions ended. As first-time dog owners, we were hoping for more hands-on guidance. Much of each session involved conversation and verbal instruction, but we didn't feel we were shown the techniques in enough detail or given sufficient practice with our dog to feel confident applying them on our own--especially given his specific behavioral challenges. Bobby is very personable and clearly knowledgeable, but we were hoping for more direct interaction with our dog during the sessions. After training ended, we reached out about the ongoing issues, and while Bobby was able to fit us in for an additional session, it mainly revisited the same methods that hadn't necessarily been effective for us. I believe Bobby would be a great fit for dogs that are already fairly obedient and just need structure or refinement. However, for dogs with more serious behavioral concerns like aggression or resource guarding, this approach may not be the best match. Ultimately, we decided to pursue additional training elsewhere to better meet our dog's needs.

I tried to take Chloe to the dog parks to socialize, but I was picky. The dogs at the park were unpredictible. I was very protective of Chloe. The parks were dirty. I drove across town to find the right park but didn't find what I was looking for. So I decided to stop going to the parks. 5 years later, I decided to give Bobby a shot and had to figure out how to make it fit my busy schedule. We had 5 private lessons with Bobby first then Chloe graduated into the group class. It's been about 6 months since our first training session, and we have made so much progress with Chloe. In fact, this weekend my friend saw Chloe for the first time since we enrolled with Bobby. My friend's comment was the training is really working. Chloe is so behave. Not only did we find the right trainer, we also found the right place to socialize with other dogs. The place is big so it's like our park now. The place is clean. It doesn't even smell like dogs. It's airconditioned so its good all year round. For the price, it's so worth it! I'm glad I chose this place.

She had all the basic commands down but I didn't trust her enough around other dogs to walk her off leash. She would even lunge at dogs while on leash if they got too close. She even had a bite incident at one point. I was at a loss. I met with Gregory after having consultations with several other dog trainers in Las Vegas and Henderson. But The Doggy Dojo stood out to me because of Gregory's professionalism and his obvious love for dogs. Upon meeting with him, I was comfortable he was the right trainer for my specific situation. I signed up for the Brown Collar aka Threat Dog program. That included on-leash obedience, off-leash obedience, service dog training, and protection dog training (threat level). Since Shenzi already had the on-leash obedience down, we were able to move to off-leash obedience pretty quickly. Only a couple sessions were focused on on-leash obedience training just to tighten up the way i corrected my dog when she displayed reactive or aggressive behaviors or when she didn't listen to a command. Within the first few off-leash sessions, Shenzi was a completely transformed dog. I was able to walk her off-leash everywhere. And she walks by other dogs without barking, lunging, or displaying any reactive or aggressive behavior whatsoever. She stays at the heel position at all times unless i release her, even with distractions. I even had a couple of situations where other dogs were displaying aggression towards my dog and she stayed calm and continued to walk by my side. And after we got through the service dog training, I've been able to take her to the casinos, the airport, on planes, and in stores with no problem. She literally goes everywhere with me. And now, after threat dog training, she confidently displays aggression only on my command or when a threat is imminent. She's the best companion and protector now. Gregory really takes his time with training. All training is done privately. No group training, which i liked because it allows Gregory to spend adequate time training your dog while also teaching you how to appropriately correct your dog. Essentially he trains you how to train your dog. Gregory will take you and your dog to stores, parks, and other places to make sure your dog is adequately trained in all environments. He also offers a board and train program but i wanted to work with my dog myself.

Since then, he has not responded to my emails or addressed a refund for the services that were not provided. In my experience, he overpromised and underdelivered. A fair resolution would simply be refunding the portion paid for services that were never completed.

I called American Canine Training for obedience for my 11 month old puppy. It took a while to…read morefinally get in contact with a trainer, but it was so worth it. I did a lot of research on Yelp, Google +, and just simple google searches. From the numerous dog trainers I've spoke with, I was happy to have reached them. Firstly, I checked Sit Means Sit for obedience, but the trainers are unfortunately bound by contract to only assist people in their assigned area. This means the highly rated Summerlin Sit Means Sit training is only available for the Summerlin community. I then called various other trainers who claimed that training would cost hundreds of dollars and weeks of training with the trainer. Luckily, after a few weeks after I sent ACT an email, I finally got a reply from Carol, the owner. I then struggled to get in contact again with ACT with several phone calls, but eventually I received a call from Kathy, the dog trainer. I set up an appointment with Kathy the very same day she called and it was money best spent. Kathy told me that she would only be available for 1.5 hrs, but ended up helping my friend and I for 2.5 hours before leaving. We worked on basic obedience which had absolutely no BS at all. Her lesson was extremely informative and she had a tremendous amount of patience with my dog and my friend's dog. For both dogs, she only charged $80 for the first lesson and the best part is I just need to individually practice her training on a daily basis. I now feel a lot more confident in my dog and my training for my dog. In conclusion, you may have to work a while to get in touch with someone; however, if you get Kathy as a trainer, you will NOT be disappointed.

She took the proper time to introduce her dog with mine then let them play in the backyard together. She was great at handling him on the leash and really impressed me with the first impression. I decided to board with her for five days. I took advantage of the train and board so she could work on my dog's leash skills. After getting him back, he had improved with just four training sessions. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with her. Its a home and made me feel like she had the time and attention to give to my dog. He had ate his entire time he was there which made me feel like he was comfortable too.
