Tram Cream Coffee is my current go-to coffee spot. I like my drinks pretty basic and the one that I'm always ordering is the Vietnamese White Coffee. Been coming by the past 3 weekends and the consistency of their drinks is on point. I usually swing by early mornings around the time they open and order my drinks to fuel me for the whole day. The potency and flavor is what got me stuck on this place right now. Plus the service here has been great and the baristas are super chill. I had my wife pick this up so I have no idea what the inside looks like. She described the inside as "clean, simple". Standard fare for a coffee shop. There was no wait. It was a fast pickup. We ordered salted cream coffee. I liked the coffee! It was not sweet, but for a salted cream coffee, it was good! For people who like bitter side coffee, this is the coffee for you. I love egg coffee, so that's what I went for here. Overall, the egg cream was very thick, but I do like the taste. Coffee was good, but the ice was still too much for me even at "less ice". I finished the whole drink in 5 sips - maybe I should've waited longer for ice to melt. I was intrigued by the other options on their menu, but it's not very descriptive. In fact, it's kind of hard to guess what ingredient is in each drink (at least for the ones I've never encountered before, like VIP, white bear, Hanoi). I didn't even realize that the two drinks I ordered had coffee jelly included until I was given the big straw. There's definitely room for improvement on the menu descriptions. This is not your standard bubble tea/coffee tea place. It's pretty specialized! If you are a matcha lover, you will have MANY options to choose from. I'd say it's more adult friendly as opposed to kid friendly. If you're not used to this type of specialized drink, the options will be a little daunting. They do have a wonderful kiosk where it gives you photos of the drink along with the name which helps. We got the tropical fruit tea and shared with my daughter. I'd say it was a bit overpriced. I wouldn't personally come back here again as these are too specialized for me, but if you like Matcha or cream coffee and specialized drinks you wouldn't find elsewhere I'd say come here and try it! This spot is located in a small plaza, and finding parking is never difficult. The interior is a little smaller, with limited seating (though it's never busy so I rarely have trouble finding a seat). There are many outlets for charging, free WiFi, and they are open until 8PM, so it's honestly a great spot to study or do some work. The atmosphere is light and clean, and the service is really good; they are friendly and drinks come out quickly enough. I like their selection of coffees--they have plenty of options and also some matcha drinks as well. The coffee is generally in the style of Vietnamese coffees, and I would recommend those over the matcha drinks. They do offer some snacks as well, but I haven't tried them. I tried their signature White Bear drink at the "less sweet" option, but it was still quite sweet! I really liked the mix of hojicha and coffee and cream, though I wish the taste of the coffee was more prominent. I have also tried several of their other coffee-based drinks, which were all really good. Their matcha isn't a strong point, though--the flavor is not as strong and fragrant as I usually prefer. I think the prices here are on the higher side for what they are. That said, I like that they have some great signature drinks and a cohesive interior design. I do recommend the spot though! Tried this place with a friend when there was a BOGO deal going on. The place is clean, modern, and bright with tables around for small groups to hang out. The drinks came out pretty quickly after ordering from the kiosk. The coffee is strong with the perfect sweetness from the egg foam. I'm glad I got it early in the day, because I was buzzing from the caffeine! I'm seeing a lot of reviews mention that the cups are small for the price. Not my favorite banana pudding matcha, but a good option for Sunnyvale. The banana is very artificial and I don't like that you can't control the sweetness. My daughter thought it was small. It's espresso with coffee cream. I've been back 3 or 4 times. I like it enough not to try anything else. Place is clean and new where the old share tea was. Managed to stop by both during their soft opening and during their grand opening celebrations. It's always nice to have a new Viet coffee place in Sunnyvale, but I'm not sure this place is super worth it. For about $8, you get a cup that's majority ice (at least three quarters of the cup); I ordered both the egg coffee and the Creamy Hanoi, and both ended up with hardly any coffee. Ordering was simple through a kiosk and my coffee came pretty quick. The coffee itself was rich and creamy, strong as Viet coffee should be and the coffee flavor still managed to come through over the egg cream and milk. My egg coffee came with a boba lid though, which seemed strange considering the egg cream topping, I had to shake it around a lot to get the egg cream mixed in instead of getting the layer. This place is new and seems cozy with a few tables inside to sit. Still though, not sure if it's worth coming back considering the multitude of other options in the bay. read more

Tram Coffee #8 just opened up and I was able to go the day after opening and a week after. I've been to the one in Hayward before and first tried the Tropical Fruit Tea. I got that again in Sunnyvale and am still so shocked at how large the 800mL cup size is. This tea only comes in the large size due to all the fruit inclusions like orange. Other drinks are available in 600mL or the 800. The juice layers of dragonfruit, passionfruit, etc. look so pretty! I get no added sugar and it's sweet enough. I also got the house milk tea which comes with boba, grass jelly, and coffee jelly. No sugar is good for me and the black tea is strong. One of my friends is a bit crazy and gets super strong Viet coffee, meaning the classic Saigon and adds two additional shots of espresso! She asks for less condensed milk too. She also got the peach orange fruit tea with lychee jelly and it quenches the thirst. Another friend got the egg cream coffee and the cream is soo yellow! He said it was good. We tried out some snacks. I got the trio of custard buns from Tracy Bakery: vanilla, chocolate, and matcha. I liked the last two more. We also tried the rice paper rolls which had shredded fresh papaya with crispy bits of meat and veggies, topped with some cream similar to sour cream. It came with a tangy dipping sauce as well. Both kiosk and cashier offering available. Plenty of indoor seating. The employees are nice and helpful. This used to be ShareTea and R&B Tea so it's the same seating layout for this new coffee spot. Can't wait to go back and will try a different fruit tea like lychee. They open early! read more

When I initially saw the price of the drinks, I thought it was a little pricey. When I got my drink, I noticed that it was mostly ice. Found this spot on a whim as I was looking for a different location but oh was it a lovely surprise. They are in their soft opening but my visits have been pleasant. First off, their coffee is strong. The VIP, Egg Coffee, and Banafe all have that rich, bold coffee taste that will power you up. I do recommend getting less sweet for the options as the creams do add enough sweetness. I got the White Bear regular sweetness and I couldn't really taste the coffee but I could feel it. White Bear just tasted like condensed milk which wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was looking for. I would totally would get the VIP or Egg Coffee again. Inside, you order at the kiosk or at the counter with the staff. Staff is nice. Inside is clean and has a nice, simple decor. There's a couple of tables and ~15 seats . Parking is easy, there's a shared plaza with plenty of spots. Overall, they've got strong and flavorful coffee that will keep you up and running for the rest of the day if not more. There should be 10% off all food and drinks during their soft opening week (April 7-13), but it didn't automatically apply for me on the kiosk. You might need to ask the staff to apply it manually. Egg Coffee (small, $6.75): A unique take that includes coffee jelly. It comes in a sealed cup, though I personally would have preferred a sip lid to enjoy the foam properly. Double Matcha (small, $7.50): Made with first harvest, organic ceremonial grade matcha. It was strong and flavorful with a nice creamy finish. The cups are on the smaller side (500-600cc) and come heavily iced--nearly half the cup. There's no option to adjust ice levels or choose an alternative milk. read more

Ordered on the kiosk, drinks came out fast, and staff interaction was very friendly. - Matcha latte $7.25 size small - nice flavor and not too sweet, but quickly became bland because of the excessive ice - VIP coffee $8.99 size large - strong coffee with good toppings, I would buy this again but it is on the more expensive side In Vietnam, it makes sense for coffee to have a lot of ice because it is supposed to be enjoyed slowly over a long period of time. On the other hand, there is no cultural reason for a matcha latte to have ice filled all the way to the top of the cup. Cafes that serve iced Vietnamese coffee here need to realize that Americans don't take hours to finish their coffee. The recipes need to be adapted to have less ice. read more

After both our initial visits (during their soft opening) it has been difficult to get drinks from this place after their grand opening. I used the app to order drinks for myself and my coworkers on my way to work. I ordered it on the app prior to leaving my home. It took 10 minutes for me to arrive there. Then I had to wait another 15+ minutes. I was getting worried that I was going to be late for work. I made it just in time. Saturday morning - I told my husband the night before I wanted to get tram. My husband wakes up earlier than me. He orders on the app - earliest pick up is at 745am -they open at 7am and it was in "confirming" the order for over 20 minutes. Already charged my credit card and we can't even cancel the order. My husband had to call them and the guy says he will look into it and call us back. A couple minutes later our order is being worked on. No apologizes or anything. Usually, we want this in the morning as this is a coffee place but if it's not going to be reliable then there's no point in coming here. I was hoping to order this for my coworker's birthday on Monday but I can't rely on them to make it on time so I won't be late for work. I've always supported Trạm Coffee and have ordered from them many times, especially Locations 1 and 2. I usually have good experiences there, but since Location 8 is closer to my work, I've tried ordering from this location multiple times and honestly, I'm disappointed almost every single time. There's always something wrong with my order either toppings are missing or the drink just doesn't taste as good as the other locations. This time, I ordered a VIP and paid extra for lychee jelly. When I put my straw in and started drinking it, there was literally no lychee jelly at all. I even had my boyfriend drive back to ask about it, and the employee, Peter, just told him that the "lychee jelly is inside." It honestly felt like he didn't believe us instead of simply checking the drink or trying to fix the issue. That kind of response is really disappointing and shows very poor customer service, especially when I PAID EXTRA for the topping. I also ordered the Egg Cacao and the cup wasn't even filled properly compared to what I normally get at other Trạm locations. I rarely leave negative reviews because I genuinely like and support Trạm Coffee, but Location 8 seriously needs to work on their drink consistency, order accuracy, and especially customer service. I love Tram! I've been to both of their locations in San Jose and it's nice that Sunnyvale has one now! They're having their soft opening this week, where there's a 10% off discount. The egg coffee is definitely strong, so if there isn't enough of the creamy egg foam, the bold coffee flavor really comes through. This place is very nice, clean and quaint. Great music, good bass and up beat. Got the Thai Milk Tea and the Matchahaya - blended matcha with matcha crème top has a hint of lavender. Not too sweet yet creamy. My only concern was while the owner or manager was doing an interview, the girls behind the counter were texting on their phones and sharing an uncovered drink. While I am sure it was innocent in nature, it raises concern for a health code violation of cross contamination as they are touching their phones and grabbing their straws then going back to making customers drinks without washing their hands or putting on clean gloves. I tried egg coffee. Their drinks are fully loaded with ice. Was able to have 3 sips until just ice remains. Need to reduce ice down to 1/4 of the cup, not 100 full. Or else there is no point to enjoy the flavors of the drink and shouldn't be considered as a full cup order. It is sad, I know some cafes do this trick for ice illusion to make the order look like the entire cup. If the meaning of Barista is a Bartender, you would use a shaker and shake the ice with the shaker and pour the cooled drink, with no ice in a cup whatsoever. Unless the customer wants ice in it, then I suppose. I also tried the yogurt bliss with fruit toppings. I figured it is supposed to be like a parfait but who puts chunky ice in the yogurt? I have to annoyingly chew throw the ice to eat the yogurt. At least a bit of shaved ice might be better but I don't think there should be ice in this at all. For a drink that cost over $8 (including tax and tip), that's crazy. Came in a pretty good size cup, was just all ice. My girlfriend got a large egg coffee with no ice--they spread the topping around the cup to make it *look* full, but it was about 1/3 full. In a large cup. I should have taken a picture, it was ridiculous. Matcha latte is also very different from other places I've had. It comes with oatmilk by default and I've had this combination countless times elsewhere, but here it's really creamy which I actually prefer. Place is also cute and clean. We spent 3 weeks in Vietnam and were excited to find a contemporary Vietnamese coffee place and while the flavors looked great and the egg cream itself was good, the coffee was extremely burnt and bitter. great spot for super strong viet coffee in a clean seating area! i stopped by to get work done and was pleased to see that they have plenty of seating with charging outlets, wifi, and a clean bathroom. i tried their regular viet coffee, less sweet, with egg cream. the egg cream is swirled on the cup and adds a nice bit of creaminess to the coffee, which i found to be incredibly strong. if you want something creamier they also have drinks that have a higher milk/cream ratio but i love how strong their standard coffee is. they also have an option to get ice on the side rather than in the cup, if you worry that the ice will water it down. traditional viet coffee is supposed to have a ton of ice to melt down and dilute the coffee a little bit, so i personally don't mind that it comes heavy on the ice. its cool that they give you the option though! and i still find the portion size very reasonable. overall great coffee shop to get some work done and super good coffee to fuel the session. would recommend!! read more
