During one of the most difficult and vulnerable times a family can go through, we were met with rudeness, short responses, impatience, and a complete lack of empathy. When I called with questions regarding my brother and the process, I could hear the frustration and irritation in the responses I received. At a time when we were grieving and simply trying to understand what needed to be done, we were made to feel as though our questions were an inconvenience. I understand that funeral and cremation professionals deal with death every day, but the families they serve do not. For us, this was a son, a brother, our loved one, and one of the most painful experiences of our lives. Compassion, patience, and basic kindness should be the bare minimum in this profession. Based on my family's experience, I cannot recommend Maryland Cremation Services. Families dealing with the death of someone they love deserve to be treated with dignity, patience, empathy, and respect. Unfortunately, that was not the experience we received here.

Two of them failed to disclose all their fees until I asked additional questions (based on my research), one of them was double the price of the other three, and the fourth one was Direct Cremation Services. I met with a gentleman named Kip, who didn't try to upsell me, and gave me a package that met my requests. The costs were significantly lower than the other three places. He assured me that Direct Cremation Services would take care of everything, and explained both the logistical process and the paperwork/payment process. When my mother passed away, on a weekend, Kip returned my (notification) call, emailed me the link to take care of the documents, and immediately send his team out to transport my mother's remains. He told me the paperwork could wait until Monday. Thereafter, everything went as promised, and I picked up my mother's "cremains" yesterday. An unbelievably smooth process during a difficult time. I can't recommend this place enough.

He took action and arranged to have her immediately transferred to Harrisburg even though it was in the middle of a snowstorm.
