Nicked lingual frenulun. When in for a crown work up and end up with this souvenir....it should last about 2 weeks to heal...non stop pain... My wife went in for a fill and a crown...Dr Tsou nicked the lingual frenulun left about a 1/4 inch hole....no apologies from him to at least pretend he cares....my wife and I returned to the clinic to be treated for the pain by Dr Sofie....as far as us returning to this clinic as patients we are totally done with this place...horrible the way the treat the patients read more

Frustrated. I should have focused on quality of care vs frills. Like many in the comments, I found myself with many more "cavities" than I had been told I had with a previous dentist. (I couldn't get in quickly with them so this is what brought me to TD) .. the X-rays are super blurry and I don't know how they see anything on there... I've had so many things "fixed" here and I have constant pain that was told is totally normal for weeks afterward. I eventually contacted them and said I'm just not coming back. Can't. The dentist while working on my teeth, chatting it up with the assistant about their weekend plans, using the word "literally" every other sentence... made me feel like my adolescent child was working on me. I've been going here for 2 years now and I just had the worst experience ever today. I will not be going back and don't recommend. After not looking over my charts the doctor (Dr. Jim Tsou) gave me numbing medication I was allergic too and had no care in the world that he did. She is very attentive and has such a nice vibe. The rest of the staff demonstrated such great customer service and like the dentist were also so welcoming and had great energy . Scheduled a cleaning for myself and my husband. Staff was so fast to push products and kept recommending that we get this and that done. I was in another room and declined the other services (laser). As for my husband in the other room, came out to checkout and we were billed $890 for services that were done on the spot. The ladies at the front office were kind of snobby as well. We were inquiring why they performed the treatments on my husband on the spot and she said "deep cleaning and it was needed". I asked my husband then and there did he approve of these or did the hygienist/dentist ask. He said No they didn't ask me if I wanted this all done. The receptionist just smiled. By the way, the "tranquility" isn't even all that. Yes the place is very clean and peaceful and the only thing I thought was nice was he paraffin hand wax. Which I thought was nice at first but then I couldn't use my hands to scratch my nose or wipe away the water that was being splashed all over my eyes. I can not say enough great things about Tranquility Dental in Lacey, WA. I moved to the area approximately 3 yrs. ago and had negative dental care until I went to Tranquility. They were very attentive and caring. They really listened to my concerns. After x-rays, difficult cleaning, referral to an oral surgeon and finally two fillings, which I knew was necessary, I am impressed with their thoroughness. The cost was well below what I had paid for previously and the perks, a warm blanket, relaxing atmosphere, and aromatherapy, quelled my nerves at no extra cost! Also at my prior dentist office I was being charged over $100 just to be seen by a dentist? At Tranquility the dentist was very hands on as was the dental assistant. All the staff there were exceptionally nice. Higher in pricing than other places, like comfort dental, but a very pleasant visit. Only downside was having my cosmetic concerns brushed aside and then I was referred to another dentist at another location - Tranquility asks on their questionnaire if you like your smile, but apparently don't really care about your answer. They advertise cosmetic treatments but didn't have anything they could do for me. They do have a tendency to "oversell" optional services :-0( All that extra stuff, like the paraffin hand wax is EXTRA so if you want to spend more money.... read more

This office is a joke they gave me "contaminated fillings" and didn't replace them the office in tumwater confirmed they were contaminated yet didn't replace them when I paid out of pocket for my silver fillings which were perfectly fine to be replaced to white fillings which is what this dentist recommended I didn't come in asking for this and he still messed up. Hoe do you recommend something and then fail. I paid so much money and all they do is give you the run around. I had no dental issues and no pain in my mouth until after I seen them and now the pain is just getting progressively worse none of this work that was done on my mouth was necessary they just recommended it and I'm pretty sure it was to cash out on my money and now my teeth are progressively getting worse I don't even trust them to fix the issue because I've given them five chances to fix the issue and they always say that there's nothing wrong with it when everybody around you can see that the filling is changing colors to green. read more

From the moment the phone was answered I was treated like the receptionist's friend...Jessica was kind and friendly and when I expressed the importance in needing a kind yet competent doctor, she spoke from the heart when she told me how much she enjoys the dental staff at their clinic and she assured me I wouldn't see an unkind face in the facility. From the moment I walked into the clinic, I was treated like I had shown up for spa day...and who doesn't love spa day! It's a shame because the doctor and dental assistants were adequate and professional. I was denied a tooth cleaning because they wanted to perform deep cleaning for my entire mouth to the tune of 1300.00. I guess they don't abide by the Constitution! Freedom of choice! They said it would be unethical. what is unethical is price gouging and mandates! I checked with my dentist whom I had seen in January before I moved to Washington. He said it wasn't necessary for the deep cleaning which I had done 5 years ago for half the price which is still in effect. He said there is some tartar build up, but in in certain areas. The fact of the matter is that I'm not given a choice. When I spoke to the business manager, Danica, she told me that I should go back to California to have my teeth cleaned. Well today I went to have my teeth checked, I've been putting it off for awhile now. I just get so nervous going to see a dentist. But I'm so happy I found Tranquility Dental, it was the best dental experience I've ever had going to see a dentist. I'm definitely going to recommend everyone I know to come here. I was looking for a dentist close to work and found Tranquility. I was excited about all of the services they offered to distract you from the fact that you are at the dentist. I faithfully go in to get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. During my first visit they said they found two cavities which was very unusual for me. I agreed to get them filled but they said that my insurance would not pay for the white fillings, only the silver and because these were near the front, I should pay the additional cash amount for both teeth to get the white filling. I went in 6 months later for another cleaning and low and behold, they found 3 more cavities. Once again, they were in near the front of my mouth and I had to pay for the white fillings for all 3 teeth. I realized by this point that I was being nickel and dimed to death by this place and this probably wasn't the dentist for me. The final straw was during the procedure when Dr. Le was drilling on the 3rd tooth and I wasn't numb. I tried to explain to her through my near tears but she continued to tell me that she was nearly done. She seemed to be quiet frustrated with me and all but refused to give me any more Novocain. She just half heartedly patched up my tooth and sent me on my way. This was three visits to many for me....I felt anything but tranquil when I left that place. Never Again! read more

They called me when I was just waking up. I don't remember much of what was said because of my not being very awake, ( not their fault ). The coolest office I've ever been to. I struggled finding dentists who were patient with people with Anxiety and PTSD. The last dentists I had would always get angry at me for being scared or they would drop me as a patient. These people know what they're doing when it comes to their anxious patients. They are great at comforting those who need it and the dentists are very smart and kind. The receptionist staff and the dental assistance are always a pleasure to interact with. Holy cow I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet and I'm STUNNED that there are bad reviews for it. I first came here last Spring, recommended by a friend. I hadn't been to the dentist in a LONG time (no insurance!) and I knew I was long overdue and that I had at least a few cavities. I'm officially obsessed with this place. FIRST of all, and this is actually a big deal to me: they call to confirm your appointment a couple days before and I'm TERRIBLE about answering my phone. I never have it with me and I never look at it. The first time they called me to confirm, I didn't know who it was and didn't see that I had a voicemail, and they ended up emailing me. Email is a GREAT method of communication for me. So when I came for my appointment I apologized to Jessica, the receptionist, for it taking so long for me to get back to them and mentioned that I suck at answering the phone and she asked if I would prefer email in the future. I told her that would be AWESOME and now she ALWAYS emails me. It's perfect and I love it. I know this seems insignificant, but honestly it's just so much easier for me to email and I really appreciate the accommodation. So I went a few times in the Summer and Fall for fillings (blegh) and they were always really great. Super nice, very professional, easy to talk to and relax with. Definitely my favorite dentist experience. They have all those "spa" offerings but I've never done any of them so I can't speak to how they are. The dentist that I had initially left, but I do really like the new one. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED give these guys a chance :) read more

Beyond all the "pampering" options like warmed neck rolls and paraffin wax, you can prepare to have procedures and options pushed at you during EVERY visit. They care a lot more about making lots of money than they do about you. Don't expect to hear "great job, see you in six months" no matter how healthy your teeth are. I went in for a typical 6 month cleaning, but it was my first one here. They were extremely polite and it was obvious they were trying to make a great first impression. My cleaning was quiet (I hate when the hygienist talks and talks, especially with their hands!) and gentle. The neck wrap was a nice touch. after meeting Dr. Le [who was way too enthusiastic/aggressive [?] @ our first meeting and kept calling me 'honey' which irked me ]- and having her looking at my front tooth problem that had broken off it's post, she said "that it would cost me over $7,000.00 to fix the problem" I felt very pressured as she kept saying this was the only real solution for me. I said I couldn't possibly pay that amount of money at this time. I then sought out another dentist- Dr. Mack in Tacoma- who told me "no problem- we'll just make a new post and put a crown on it"- for the x-rays, new post and new crown it came to $1800.00 TOTAL !!! Dr. Le didn't even Suggest a Crown as a possibility for fixing my tooth !! I would never recommend this place- it's a fancy, high pressured and overly priced place. Seek out Dr. Mack in Tacoma- he's good, fair and is above board in his prices. read more

I went in for a cleaning. However I had a pain in the right side of mouth. So I scheduled a deep cleaning on that side. I opted for zero laughing gas, because the initial cleaning went so smooth. I was right. Teralee was so gentle! My goodness she is good at this! I will from now on make sure I have her do my cleanings. I've lost a few teeth over the years from not caring for my teeth- I'd rather have childbirth with zero epidural than to visit a dentist! So happy we found tranquility! Back in 2015 I was so happy to find this place. I have a serious dentist issue and they were able to get me in for an emergency appointment and I truly did have a good experience with the hygienist and doctor I had for a few things I went to them for. NOT SO MUCH recently. I went in April 2017 to have a chipped tooth looked that. I was given a full set of xrays and when the Dentist came in she did not show me any of the xrays but dictated to the hygienist what needed to be done. First which was to do a root canal and crown on the chipped now abscessing tooth ($1200 out of pocket). Next was a crown on a molar with small fractures in it and than a crown on a molar with a small cavity (with out taking care of the cavity first)......I left there like a deer in head lights and after thinking about it decided a second opinion was what I wanted. Well second opinion was the molar with the abscess was mostly pointless to save and if I had gone the root canal option nothing says in a few years I would need to have it pulled anyways. So yesterday for $470(mostly because I opted to go with sedation which is not covered) I had the tooth removed!! Best option ever. Now I call the dentist I went to for the second opinion to reschedule a regular first time appointment to have them be my new provider and Tranquility Dental has the nerve to tell them they only have Xrays from March 2015.........Liars! You took a full set of xrays and billed my insurance in April....only 4 weeks ago. Which I made sure the dentist I am going to now knew and they are to call and request the new xrays again. Sort of makes me wonder if you really took them or just pretended and charged my insurance. SO unless you want to be treated like a cash cow to help pay for the fancy décor and options for distractions while you are there I would never again recommend this office! My xrays better find their way to Dr. Greens office. read more

The website advertises they are good with kids. But my three year old fell and hit her tooth and was scared to be examined. So the dentist grabbed her by the shoulders and yelled at her, trying to hold her down. Which obviously did not help her calm down. We could have just cut our losses and left without having it seen, instead now she's afraid of the dentist. Don't advertise being good with kids if you aren't, and never never never lay your hands on someone else's child. read more

The facility is beautiful, the staff is professional and eager to help, and the visit was totally pain-free. It was a great experience from the moment I first called to schedule an appointment. They were initially able to fit me in same day, but there was an issue with my insurance that I needed to resolve first. The front desk called me to notify me and provided me with the phone number I'd need, which was so helpful and saved me significant time. Even my insurance representative commented on how great that was. The office is unlike any dentist's I've ever been to or heard of. This is a celeb-status dentist, guys. There is a fireplace and coffee bar in the waiting room, there's Netflix and massage chairs at the dental stations, they gave me complimentary spa treatments - I was in awe the entire time. I started going when Dr. Noga first opened the office and it was *WONDERFUL*. However, since she's expanded and brought on two additional dentists the place has been chaotic! The young dentist who worked on my teeth had no control over the office or the dental assistants. They were telling HIM what to do. In fact, while they were working on my teeth one assistant told him to instruct another assistant in more detail of how the procedure worked (she was assisting another patient) because she, "had never done it before". I loved them. I had to get a few fillings, I hate flossing. They were gentle and my mouth wasn't super sore the next day! I love the fact they give you head phones and netflix to not have to hear the drilling and the parafin wax is nice touch and the heated neck roll.
