I visited for a simple manicure on my real nails. He used the fake nail dremmel which hurt severely since I don't have fake nails glued over my own. finally he switched to a gentler drill & polish was off. Then he reuses the first one even though he should have used a regular emery board. He had me place my nails in a small bowl filled with icy cold water, not even warm. Then he want to cut my cuticles! Oh no! you're only supposed to push them back. that wasn't the worst thing - he VACUUMED my hands with a filthy nozzle from the floor vacuumed the desk, his clothes. Yesterday I went in to get a pedicure and after that I asked one of the lady's which seemed like she was the one in charge I asked if she could do a set of nails for me I showed her the photo and she looked at them then I asked her if she could actually do them and she said she could she looked at the photo well and took a photo of the nails and I told her if she could do them in light blue and she said she could and I said ok she gave me an appointment and then today I came in and she was doing my nails and it was getting busy and I understand that and I saw people come in and she told everyone to wait cause some of the other ladies were already with a customer but I could also see she was starting to get impatient and started to finish my nails quickly and she finished I looked at them and how I disliked them so much. My grandma came to check on me and saw how they were and she said they looked horrible and look nothing like the photo and my grandma told her but the lady said it costed one hundred and my grandma said it was poorly done to cost so much and the lady said that she can't do anything and she said she had customers and my grandma kept saying it wasn't good and if she could fix them but the lady said if she was gonna do it like the actual photo it would cost too much money for us and my grandma was offended by that her saying it would be too much for us, my grandma was upset and I told her let's pay and leave and my grandma said yes let's go and was about to get the money when the lady said no no I'll call security idk if she misunderstood or something but she said she was calling security on us and my grandma was confused and upset I just was getting upset I just gave the lady the hundred and left. Was told 20-30 minute wait for manicure, turned into 50 minutes because when the receptionist went on break the new one assumed that I was waiting on someone else since I was male. The person they gave me had no idea what they were doing and kept in having to ask the person next to them where stuff was. No hand lotion, wax dip, or cleaning under the nails. At the end the other person had to tell them to put my hands under the dryer and they didn't turn in the light. I had came back here cause I been there before and had decent service. The gentleman who did my nails (powder dip), did no prep-no nipping cuticles astray; oddly, nothing. He dremelled my nails roughly and didn't buff them before applying the dip. He had me wave my hands around to dry them at the end. Middle finger nail tip had less product on it and when I pointed it out, he filed it a bit shorter to do away with the color discrepancy. The pricing for my stiletto nails with a pink French manicure was more than reasonable considering I've been overcharged in middletown many times. I would give this place 0 stars if that was possible. I came in and I was immediately judged by the skirt I was wearing. The nail artist charged me $26 dollars for a manicure because she insisted that "you people" (meaning people from my religion) are filthy rich. I'm a broke 16 year old girl, but ok. She then proceeded to ask me inappropriate questions about me such as "why aren't you married don't you people get married at 15 and 16 years old. Do you at least have a boyfriend? I was appalled by this stereotype, since not only is it definitely not the status quo of my religion to get married as a child, most religious figures outright discourage or forbid it, so her stereotype was completely ignorant and incorrect. She then proceeded to ask me where I live and mentioned only 2 places because that is where all "you people" live according to her. I told her I'm a camp counselor and she begged me to tell her how much I make and said I must tip her because I have a lot of money and kept trying to sell me more services (again, still broke, camp counselors make no money) and said I better tip because the rest of "your people" don't and she hates them. Needless to say, I'm traumatized. After this horrifying interaction, my finished manicure was atrocious. It looked like I did it myself using my feet. The manicurist burned and scarred the skin under my nails because she was so rough on me and she kept insisting that "you people" can take the pain. I would have asked her to fix the manicure once it was finished , but she had already moved on to another customer and I just couldn't bear any more of the the harsh stereotypes and accusations. I do not reccomend this salon, unfortunately it was the worst pedicure i have ever had, i can't speak for every nail tech but the one i had was very disappointing, i don't even know her name because she did not introduce herself. I work on my feet all day long so when i go for a pedicure i am really looking forward to it and hoping for a good experience. All i can say is that it is two days later and i realized my toenails are in terrible pain, come to realize it's because she painted the gel polish on my cuticles and my skin, and my toenails were still too long, she did not cut them but only filed them. I was in and out of the salon including choosing a color and paying within 30 minutes. She did not even do a massage and that's the part i look forward to the most. Most pedicures will take an hour if it is done right. Due to the pain, tonight i had to cut the paint off of my cuticles and skin and really took a close look and realized how poor of a job she did. I am not one to come on Yelp and write reviews but i have never had such a bad experience with a pedicure before, not to mention it is the most expensive pedicure i have ever paid for. read more
