In the world of nail shop reviews, one might categorize Yelpers into two groups: those who think…read morethat guys should have no business reviewing nail salons, and those who think that if a guy goes out of his way to review a nail salon, then it must be amazing. Now, if you've read this far, I'm assuming that you're in the latter category, in which case I can wholeheartedly recommend Nature Nail for all your manicure, pedicure, and local gossip needs. The ladies in this small salon are friendly and do a great job, and yes, I have actually had my toenails painted by Ivy, who then proceeded to laugh at me, while still doing an excellent job, which I quite proudly displayed. (Now, the circumstances of the previous night that led to my toenails getting painted still remain murky, but that is a story best reserved outside of the Yelposphere.) Overall, I must say that I had a wonderful experience. And so, if you're looking for a salon to frequent on a regular basis, and if you're looking for not only a pedicure but also a place to laugh and relax and gossip, then Nature Nail is definitely worth the drive out into suburbia. Enjoy!

I decided to get my best friend a shellac manicure for her birthday, but I had to find a place to…read moreget one. Since I don't live in Sugar Land, and all the other places I called were booked, I decided to make an appointment here. They are a small shop (only four people work there) and are kind of hard to find. If you need their location, just think Hwy 6 and Frost Pass. I actually got lost finding them but once I did, I felt completely dumb because I didn't see them. Keep in mind that from Hwy 6, you don't see their name, just a sign saying "Nails." Once I arrived - I was 15 minutes late mind you - they were more than accommodating. There were only two ladies there, Rita and Ivy, since the other ladies were off that day. They did ask if I wanted a beverage but I declined. I did like that they were really easy to talk to and personable. I then proceeded to pick out my shellac color. Their shellac selection is severely lacking. They only had about 8 to 10 colors, which was a disappointment. I picked an old stand-by (an orangy-red nail polish) and my friend picked a silver glitter nail polish. Rita did my nails and she did an okay job. I mean, I still prefer my own nail person I have in my part of town but her nails were passable. I felt she was a little harsh with the nail trimmer but did a good job everywhere else. My nails, on the other hand, suffered a bit. First, only my left hand actually set in the gel shellac. My right hand didn't because she was using a faulty UV lamp, which we noticed when she tried to clean the nails with alcohol and the nail polish ACTUALLY came off. Rita was very nice and redid my nails but she went overboard with the nail polish and my nails came out a little clunky. She then put nails under the same faulty UV light lamp and we got the same results. You'd think she'd use another UV lamp but she didn't. Thankfully, Ivy came over and saved the day. She fixed my right hand as much as she could - there still some see through in one of my nails - and was quick and efficient. I wish I'd gotten Ivy instead of Rita. My friend's nails with Ivy were amazing. She got a nice little glitter shellac and it looked awesome on her. I got a "tiger blossom" is what I think I got in color and loved the color. Finally, I was just happy to get out of there. I had been at the nail salon for over an hour and my friend had been done 30 minutes before I was. I left Ivy a good tip, along with Rita, because Ivy saved the day. Needless to say, I will be sticking to my own part of town and going to my old favorite, Modern Nails by Rose, in the future.
