My nails were uneven, and I literally had to tell the guy doing my pedicure to fix issues that the manicure tech should have caught and corrected. Even after that, my nails STILL looked messy and uneven. They also didn't use any type of light while doing my nails, which honestly explains a lot because the final result looked rushed and poorly done. My hands were sore afterward, and I know I was cut on my toes because THEY HURT NOW. On top of the bad work, I felt extremely rushed. The staff kept complimenting me over and over, seemingly expecting that to influence me into leaving a bigger tip. News flash: I love myself just fine compliments aren't going to make me ignore poor service or pay extra for work that wasn't done properly. If anything, it made me uncomfortable. I paid $90 for this and expected quality work--not rushed, uneven nails and sore, cut-up toes. If you're going to charge that much, the service should actually reflect the price. I was simply trying to ask a few questions about their manicure and French tip services before booking. Unfortunately, the woman at the front desk was extremely rude and made me feel like my questions were an inconvenience. Before I was even finished, she hung up on me without asking if I had any other questions. I called back thinking the call had dropped and explained that I was still talking when it ended. She responded in a frustrated tone, "Yes ma'am, your appointment is booked." I understand that people can be busy, but there is absolutely no reason to treat a potential first-time customer this way. A simple "Is there anything else I can help you with?" would have taken a few seconds. Needless to say, I will be taking my business somewhere else. If this is how potential new customers are treated over the phone, I can only imagine what the in-person experience would be like. I went back inside to ask about it and was told by the manager that the charge was because I had partially removed the gel from two of my nails. I explained that the gel had started peeling after two weeks, so I removed part of it myself this morning knowing I was going to come get them fixed after work today. My main concern is not necessarily the $10 itself, but the lack of transparency. Three different employees assisted me today between my pedicure and gel set and at no point was I informed there would be an additional charge. When I asked why no one thought to alert me, I was told they "thought I knew." Very odd response for it only being my 3rd time. They were very kind and gentle with my grandmother which meant so much to me. They offered beverages to us, explained the different services that were offered, and truly made the experience feel like a spa experience--something I feel that many nail salons are missing nowadays. She just got regular polish and although she waited for about 15+ minutes I think she would have benefited from using a fan to assist with the drying.
