What an excellent move! The crew (Lloyd, Joe, Chris, & Dickie) were unbelievably fast & super nice folks! They helped pack up the odds and ends that slipped through my stressed out fingers & made everything so smooth & easy for me. I didn't feel judged at all for what a nightmare state my apartment was in lol. They were all an absolute pleasure to be around, funny and kind and chill. I hope I don't have to move for a long time, but next time I do I will definitely be hiring transdimensional! (it was also really awesome to be able to hire a queer moving company, the last time I hired random movers they made gross jokes about my body all day. The response clearly indicates that after your team failed to get clarity on my original request, I did not want your half-hearted last-minute "help" and you came anyway and charged quarduple for it. It took me a while to write this review but I'm still upset about it so here it goes. Positive: guys were nice and worked hard communication was good Negative: Estimate was off: Original Quote was much lower: $800 to $1200 Then I added items. $1,088 - $1,408 I payed well over $2,000 plus the expected 20% tip. I was told the truck had a capacity of 800 cubic feet and we were at an estimated 740. Not sure how it came to so much more, even if I had a few more pieces. I had mainly large furniture items, some appliances, garden furniture, a large piece of astro turf, bike etc. no boxes and smalls tuff as I had moved all this on my own over a couple of months as I had both places for a few months... Only a small stack of moving blankets were brought! They admitted they did not bring enough. The crew used tape directly on my items! I have some very expensive furniture and also nice art. Minotti club chair,coffee table, custom beds... no protective wrapping went onto the dirty truck. A $6,000 Bright sofa luckily got wrapped into a cheap mattress cover that was not deep enough to fit onto my Stearns and Foster Queen Mattress (traveled without cover) A small bench is totally ruined on the fabric. At the new place I asked what to do about the tape glue and was told by one member of the crew to get "Goo Gone" ! Just to mention: The move took way longer than anticipated and we ran into traffic from Brooklyn to the Bronx. So much for the fancy computer programs... I had to give one of the movers a lift in my own car as they did not all fit into the rental truck. I had no problem paying more, I even made the crew dinner as they did work hard. The financial part did not upset me. What I am really really upset about is the utter destruction of my items! I moved into a large house and some of it is still being renovated. We put my furniture into the "safe" bed room and dressing room area and even now I just want to cry when I go in there and look at the mess. Bottom line: if you have nice things you care about better hire a more expensive company that brings blankets and wraps your things properly. This was shocking to witness. read more

I used them to move back in September. When I tried to book them, I had to call a couple of times to confirm and see if they received my deposit. It was annoying that I didn't get my window of time until the day before. They were late in their arrival time, but they gave me a couple of updates they would be late. I had a lot of stuff to move and an extra pick up that was along the way and did not finish the move until much later than I anticipated. I tipped well over 20%. After I started unpacking, I noticed quite a few items that were scratched and chipped even though it was wrapped including a garment bag with handled ripped off it. read more

Moving is stressful y'all, but Transdimensional makes the process a whole lot better and smoother. I loved communicating via text with them, and they reached out periodically too with questions and to ensure I was on track for the move. So friendly, personable, and available, which I don't think is common for moving companies! Moving day was an even more chaotic experience for me, although that was my own fault! I wasn't the first move that the crew was handling that day so their ETA remained TBD through the morning, but Vic kept me posted on their arrival. Upon arrival, they had to deal with my annoying neighbors who wouldn't let them park across the street, so that delayed when they were able to start moving boxes and all. They were still SO fast and efficient though. They arrived at 1:47 pm and finished loading the truck around 2:18 pm while handling everything with utmost care. And I thought I had a LOT of stuff! I didn't realize I had to provide my own transport to my new apartment, so that added chaos to my day. The crew had over half an hour on me by the time my dad got home to drive me over, but thankfully my roommate--who had already moved in--was at the apartment that day and could let the crew in. The crew also worked so quickly that it turned out I wasn't there for any of the unloading of boxes and stuff at all LOL. My dad and I were a couple of minutes away when I got a call from Vic, who let me know they had finished. That was around 4:00 pm, and I got there two minutes later. So all in all, it took about 2 hours 15 minutes for them to finish the job--and that came in far UNDER the estimate they gave me, even with allllllll the dang belongings I had! I haven't finished unpacking yet, but so far I've seen that everything arrived safely and intact. Transdimensional is truly awesome--the rates are reasonable, and everyone who works for them is amazing. I only wish I could've been around for at least some of the unloading process so that I would've had the opportunity to talk to the moving crew more. They were so nice and INCREDIBLY fast. I hope I never have to move again because it's sooooo not fun, but if I do and stay in NYC, I'll definitely be hiring Transdimensional again! read more

An above and beyond company. I was doing a self move at the same time Transdimensional was working and all the staff were exceedingly courteous and friendly and cool as we shared the tight staircase. As we were struggling to bring our boxes down, they offered their own tools and tips to help us out. True professionals. What must be mentioned is that when my Uhaul van died out, Transdimensional not only went out of their way to help jump start the van - sticking with us through the hugely stressful confusion of figuring out what was wrong with it- they also sincerely offered to run to a gas station to grab gas in case the van was completely out. We were total strangers that Transdimensional (the boss Sariel in particular) took care of like community. An unreal and incredibly special encounter in NYC. They also had their move done in record time- I think the job was done in about 1.5 hours or less, many many flights of stairs and a broken elevator and a group of panicked kids with a dead uhaul later. Don't think that the time they spent to help us was time taken away from the move- they did both simultaneously with a focused, strong, and caring team. As my self move took 6 miserable hours- I would definitely choose Transdimensional in the future. read more

Like most New Yorkers, I have moved many many times. I did a bunch on my own with friends and then they got sick of it so I hired Transdimensional Moving after hearing great reviews and getting a reasonable quote. Each of my moves with them have been as easy as a move could be. I have more stuff than I think, so my moves took a little longer but that was always on me. The movers handled my boxes and furniture well, and protected furniture with blankets. I love working with movers who are within my community and who are also artists and creators and have their own gigs - they have all been cheery and Ive enjoyed chatting with them. Rates are fair for a biz that is paying employees living/thriving wages. Its worth it. Don't forget to tip! read more

This was not a typical move; I haven't stepped foot in the apartment for years, and when I lived there it usually looked like a crime scene, or a case of hoarding. Then the landlord surprised me by doubling the rent, and I had to move during the busiest moving time of the year. I approached Transdimensional because I've dealt with Joe Macho and Sons-style moving companies before, and wanted to try something different. It took a while to work out the estimate, but once that was taken care of, everything went beautifully. The price was reasonable, everyone was great to work with, the move went well, and I am every happy. I inadvertently picked the hottest day of the year to move 15-years' worth of stuff out of an entire townhouse and into another, with less than a week's notice. It was a lot of stuff with some weirdly-shaped, heavy, unwieldy things (record collections, weights and lifting cage, the massive old desk my grandfather built). They responded with a quote right away, were flexible with arrival time, and moved FAST. Also, they made a point of taking care with delicate items, and continually checked in with me to gauge what I wanted to prioritize. Obtaining a quote and preparing for our move was easy thanks to Sariel's clear instructions and prompt communication. We even ran into an issue related to the COVID-19 pandemic and needed to push our move out by one week, which Transdimensional was happy to accommodate on short notice. These folks are THE BEST! We used Transdimensional for two different moves this summer. The first one was especially complicated, but they were incredibly flexible and helped us figure out the most efficient and cost-effective way to handle a rapidly changing situation. The movers were fast and friendly---before the move, they communicated regularly and clearly, answering all our questions and giving us good advice to make sure we were prepared for the big day; when it was time to move, they wrapped all our furniture for us, helped us disassemble and reassemble beds and tables, problem-solved on the fly (like taking our doors off their hinges when it looked like our couch wasn't going to make it through!), and they cleaned up after themselves on the way out!
