It was previously posted on Yelp that there was free wi-fi, which is not the case, but there's always room to read a book or newspaper while you wait. This place is great! I went to this location once, before it was Transformation Surprise, and some guys came in, took off their clothes and were sitting around in their underwear drinking. Great Laundromat! We go to a Laundromat about twice a year to use the jumbo machines to wash our slipcover for the sofa. Their jumbo machines are $5, take 28 minutes, and the facilities are super clean. The attendant was very sweet, gave helpful tips on how to use the machine, and was super friendly when I was three minutes late to empty out my washer. Great location, great facility...will definitely come back! read more

I'm new to the neighborhood, and needed to wash one load of laundry. I chose to go to Transformation Surprise Laundromat on 8th and Market. Big mistake! The little jerk-off attendant spent the last hour and 45 minutes fussing that,"He doesn't get paid to stay past closing and that he needed to mop, so this section (the only seating area) is closed off! Don't talk on your cell phone inside the laundry, it's distracting. I'm in charge of the laundry." WTF cares dude! I came to peaceably finish my laundry and move on, and I have international clients that I have to talk to. His behavior was unwarranted, unethical, and unnecessary. I was shocked, dismayed, and annoyed with his b.s. The machines did a great job, but the attendant is a complete micro-managing, little douche. read more

It is too bad I even have to give this place one star...as it deserves NONE!!! My wife, baby and I were in need of doing some quick laundry after the Ballard Farmer's Market and did not want to travel far. We looked online and noticed there was a laundromat nearby. We were excited to be able to get everything done at one time, instead of doing several individual loads at home. We stopped in and the place looked small, but very clean. The selection of machines was rather limited, especially with the 2-3 large capacity washers, 3-4 front load small washers and several useless top load washers. Since it was a Sunday, we only had a few hours before closing and being that it was Mother's Day, we rushed to get as many machines started as soon as possible. We put down our bags in front of the machines and started loading the machines. The place only had one other couple using dryers. By the time we finished loading two machines, our other bags had been moved and the worker there had started her own loads. I felt it was rather rude to not ask us, but to just move our stuff. On top of that, she moved stuff out of the laundry cart we were using it and dumped it on top of one of the laundry machines, even though there were several other unused carts nearby. The biggest inconvenience with the visit was that we kept getting dirty looks from the owner the whole time we were there. The place has a nice nook for kids to play, but the owner acts like she has something against kids. She kept a close eye on our two year old who was playing with the toys. The moment he turned away from a toy, she would immediately pick up right after him. If he placed a hand on a cart to attempt to push it, she would immediately snap at him and tell him not to touch it. We were told immediately when our washing machine or dryer was finished, so we would immediately empty the machine. This lady is supposed to be all spiritual and follow teachings of acceptance, love and transformation...but the only transformation that i saw was a Dr. Jeckyll and Mrs. Hyde attitude whenever my baby would make a peep. It was so disrespectful. My baby would laugh while playing with his toys and she would mutter to herself "oh great, the damn kid is so loud". Please keep in mind that my baby was in a sling breastfeeding and sleeping most of the time we were there. I have been to many laundromats in the past, and this was definitely my worst experience ever. I would rather wash a down comforter by hand than to frequent this location again. read more

After reading the reviews on Yelp, I was looking forward to a laundromat that was not only not scary but actually pleasant. This is a good spot - clean for the most part as the other reviewers mentioned. What I learned for my return visit. Do not use the new, front loading high efficiency washer. As with other front loaders there is a buildup of soap in the machine so your clothes will smell perfumey even if your choice of laundry soap happens to be earth friendly, scent free. It is simply a problem with front loading machines. If you don't have allergies and don't mind perfume, the machine will save you 8 minutes of wash time, which is pretty cool. The large load machines for $4.75 are good if you have three loads of the same colored wash. I only put two loads of bedding in it and feel my money would have been better spent in two top-loaders at $2 each. Although this machine is a front loader it does not seem to retain soap residue. I think it might double rinse. Overall, this place is very nice if you find yourself needing a laundromat. My one complaint would be that people smoke by the doorway so there is smell of cigarettes... read more

Seek no further: this is THE most incredible full-service laundromat. We took 5-6 large containers of wet clothes - basement flood -- to these lovely people and got back beautifully washed, dried, and FOLDED laundry. And they dried the stuff before they charged us for poundage! They had all of it done the second day after we brought it, and phoned us to let us know. I paid by check, offered my WDL as ID, only to be told it was not needed, as they trusted us -- a first in my experience with ANY business. I used to go to the other laundry matt on 65th but it was way too expensive. The owner of lunar laundry is a mental case trying to be somebody! Greedy..Displacing pizza parlor and jamming machines in that are not efficient. So although they added space they filled every inch of the place with machines making it very tight. Maybe that's why they have all the wifi and misc games because you'll spend all day all your money there. washers do not spin the water out of the towels and blankets. one would have to spend hours and spend so much more to dry Items. If you leave the building your clothing is going to be stolen. my items were stolen and many people I know have also had loads stolen from Lunar. The staff at Transformation are always there. and mellow. Transformation surprise has better washers. That really dry clothing with centrifical force removing almost all the moisture. 4 quarters will dry a very large load of clothing. Saving tons of time and Money. The owners are humble and take interest in service to the people. read more

Great vibe! Always attended, so safe for women and children. Has toys for kids. Eco-conscious. Offers Bio-Kleen detergent which is great and cheaper for those super efficient washers they have. Cleaned a queen sized comforter and quilt. It took exactly an hour. Washers truly use hot water and the dryers are hot. $5.50 on an extra hot, jumbo machine with an extractor and then I dried them separately as the place was closing for another $2.50 total. I had a mishap at the filling station and sprayed gasoline down the front of my dress. I didn't realize how hard it is to get gasoline out of clothes, so I just threw the dress in with some other clothes and ran a regular load in my home machine. BAD IDEA. My whole load now smelled like gasoline! After a few more cycles and no improvement, I decided to utilize the drop-off laundry service advertised by Transformation Surprise. My first impression upon walking in was that this was the cleanest and nicest laundromat I have ever been in. The attendant was friendly and knowledgable, she was unfazed by my tale of laundry woe, and told me she would be able to take care of it. My clothes were still wet from my own washer, so she took a few dollars off of the price as they charge per pound. That was really kind of her. By the end of the day, I had a phone call that my laundry was ready for pickup. My clothes were folded up nicely and smelled great.
