***Take Dramamine if you get motion sickness on simulated rides!*** Even if you are not a fan of the Transformers universe, this is definitely a great attraction. I love that it is a 3D experience, even if it can result in motion sickness. Out of the 3D rides in Universal Studios Hollywood, this is my favorite. Be advised that there are large wait times as this is a popular attraction, but is available for the Express Pass.

My husband and I visited Universal Studios Hollywood on a Thursday in early February. We've rode the Transformers: The Ride - 3D at Universal Studios Florida park before, but not the version in Hollywood. Transformers: The Ride - 3D is located on the Lower Lot at Universal Studios Hollywood, right before the entrance to Super Nintendo World. We didn't have a wait at all around 10:30 A.M Thursday morning. As soon as you enter the ride's queue line, you're immediately immersed in the experience. You weave through a military base that is under attack. Make sure to grab your 3D goggles before going on the ride! If you get motion sickness easily, avoid this ride!!! Once you board the ride vehicle, you'll embark on a journey alongside some of your favorite Autobots such as Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee! You'll battle the most villainous Decepticons led by Megatron! The ride as 2 rows of 4. This ride has some of the most cutting-edge 3D Technology and visual effects. It's really cool as the vehicle changes from screen to screen. You can feel every twist and turn while riding this ride! You'll zip through cityscapes, dodge enemy fire, and engage in some epic battles! I really like the Transformers series and this ride was a lot of fun! Make sure to stop at their gift shop, Production Central after riding the Transformers: The Ride - 3D. There is some cool Transformer figurines to purchase!

If you like Transformers movies, you must ride this ride. The line for the ride takes you through a military base with clothed military men/women as well. There is a general and express line. You must go to the lower level to find this ride and it is in the back past the mummy ride. The line experience is part of the ride. It has movies to show you your "mission", complete with the characters, and autobots from the movie. Press every button as you go through. Don't forget your 3D glasses as you board a car that the autobots will carry as you go through an action packed battlefield. You will see decepticons and autobots fight with you in the middle gun fire. Real fire will help make it feel real. It is a mix of real and video as you drive through the ride. Have fun, be safe, and survive the battle for Earth!

    A great costume.

I've been here before. This ride seems awfully familiar. Maybe because it's the same ride as Universal Studios Singapore. Same props and everything. The actual ride maybe takes 10 mins. The queue can take up to 90 mins according to the sign I passed. Lucky we came late night and there was no line. It's a fun ride that whips you side to side and the visual effects are out of this world. Also off to the side of the ride, there's a platform for a meet and greet. Times are scheduled when you can met Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron. Remember I wrote you can't do everything here in one day. Freshen up by reading my Universal Studios review. Overall five stars. The effects are great and the one liners just keep coming and coming. Now excuse me, time to met my hero...... M

One of my favorite rides here at universal studios. Very well worth it. Highly recommend in my opinion, you can also interact with the transformers and take pictures right before the right entrance.

Transformers the ride 3-D is definitely my favorite ride of the entire theme park. It's super fun and action packed. Before you head to the entrance of the ride, there's a photo opp for you to take pictures and interact with Optimus prime and bumblebee if your team auto bots. You also have the opportunity to interact and take pics with Megatron if you're into Deceptacon's. It's super fun and highly recommended!

Very similar to Orlando. CGI very similar. Prefer actual rides...but it was very nice. It is probably scary for younger kids. I would avoid eating before it as could make you nauseous...express pass definitely worth it and offers child swop

This is a very good ride. The ride is very similar to The Transformer ride at Universal Studios Orlando. This ride is mostly in 3D and provides provides a very immersive experience. I highly recommend this ride.

My son loves this ride and it is really awesome, it is very well done and the ride emmerses you into a day in the life of the Transformers as you work with Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee and more to save the "Allspark" from the bad guys. From the que to the time you exit you totally feel like you are training with NEST. The ride briefly paused and skipped a bit of one scene, barely even 15 seconds and the employees were waiting at the exit with fast passes for the inconvenience. Super nice, not necessary but and amazing gesture for sure! The team members are always friendly. For some it makes me really nauceus and triggers my migraines so we usually save this one for the end of the day. Not sure if it felt a bit more bumpy since it's been over a year since we've been on it or just a bumpier ride this time but for sure an amazing ride and a must check out during your visit.

i did not get a chance to see them because it started raining boo

I love the park, they have many times when you can have your picture with characters and autograph your books. Many places to eat, even Starbucks! We had a Nathan's hot dog one day and a breakfast sandwich at Starbucks! We had a few beers, be prepared to pay almost double for everything! You can ask anyone for a cup of water which is complementary and it sure tasted good on a hot day! My favorite ride was Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Transformers!! You must see the Water World Show we saw it twice! It's so good!! The new fast and furious rollercoaster was up and running ...doing testing prior to show time in the summer of 2026! We had a disability access pass which takes planning to set up but is doable. Unlike Disney, the access pass is still a piece of cardstock you need to carry around (Knotts is similar) which can be a learning curve when the world (and Disney...) have all figured out the digital app experience way better. Our first ride at 9:45 was the Harry Potter castle and it only had a 5 min wait. My ongoing pet peeve with Universal is their locker system which is a time waster and added expense. We have figured out that using rider switch at some rides can help drop the irritating need for a locker but for this first ride we hadn't caught on to this notion yet. The ride is cool but the 3D swinging made all the adults a little nauseous (we should have had a more substantial breakfast but also aging can take a well balanced seasoned rider down a notch in parenthood). This ride does a great job of decor and entertainment in line but please turn the lights up; I'm not that old yet but coming into the dark from the sun is hard to adjust too and it's a trip hazard waiting to happen. We went on the Hippogryph (sp?) ride next and that was our first use of access pass so we did wand shopping while we waited. The ride is over before it begins. For a park with so few outdoor coasters I am sad to see how short this was. I imagine this park has just simply limited space to build rides so this one was built small (and as a quick ride) by comparison to its FL counterparts. We all walked away miffed that we had barely rode it before we were getting off! In brief: Mummy was a great ride; Transformers was cool; character sightings were cute; the water ride was a SOAKER and our front row people had a foot of water over their shoes effectively creating a dismal afternoon to slog through (and even one person had a poncho but pants and shoes were still watered through). Mario land was cute though the ride was confusing and unclear as a first go. Minions was cute. Lots of indoor 3D/4D (sensory) rides. Food is limited and meh. Park and spaces were clean. There's not quite enough seating, shade or water bottle fill stations. Staff were good: kind and helpful. Waterworld was missed because they don't run enough. Parking was a minimum $40 and then a walk. And Studio Tour was great: this is the belle of the Ball at this theme park! It's about an hour but it's worth it and a great way to sit and mellow out while learning about different movies and shows from history to present! And it has some cute surprise experiences! The park is kind of boring overall. Which is sad to say. I think the silver lining of that though is not feeling like you have to rush everywhere; it can be a more chill experience. But then we had a lot of down time waiting and there was not enough entertainment or distraction for the kids. We are curious to see how the new Fast and Furious ride pans out though as it was going through test runs while we were there and it is quite a deviation from their current experience offering!

The attention to detail throughout the entire area is incredible, from the architecture and music to the little interactive elements hidden throughout the land. Even if you're not a huge Harry Potter fan, it's still an experience worth visiting because the atmosphere alone is so immersive. One of the best parts was how well the staff stayed in character and interacted with guests. Team members were friendly, helpful, and did a great job managing the crowds, especially around the more popular attractions and shops. Even when the area became busy, employees kept lines organized and answered questions without seeming rushed. The rides were definitely the highlight. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was one of the most impressive theme park rides I've experienced. The wait time can get long very quickly, especially in the afternoon, so I highly recommend going early in the day if possible. Universal's app was helpful for checking ride times throughout the day. Flight of the Hippogriff had a shorter wait but was still fun, especially for families or anyone wanting a lighter ride experience. Food and drinks are expensive, but honestly the themed snacks and Butterbeer are part of the experience. Butterbeer is a must-try at least once. The frozen version was my favorite, especially in the California heat. Seating around the food areas fills up fast during peak hours, so timing your meals earlier or later than normal lunch times can help avoid crowds. The shops inside Hogsmeade were extremely detailed, but they do get packed. Ollivanders was one of the busiest areas during my visit, and there was a wait to get inside. If you want an interactive wand experience, be prepared for the wands to be pricey, but the interactive spell locations throughout the land make it more fun and worth it for fans. One thing visitors should know is that this area gets crowded very quickly, especially midday and during weekends or holidays. Taking photos can sometimes require patience because there are constantly people walking through the main pathways. Early mornings and evenings seemed to be the best times for photos and shorter lines. Overall, this was one of the most immersive themed areas I've visited at any park. Universal did an amazing job bringing the Harry Potter world to life, and it truly feels like an attraction you could spend hours exploring. Definitely worth adding to your Universal Studios Hollywood visit.

But if you don't mind that, I suggest you go. It's a good place to relax, stare, and be stared at. Seriously though, Hogwarts world at Universal has always been fun to visit. Both in CA and in FL. The stores have souvenirs and snacks galore and kids of all ages (including me) can enjoy walking through shops and riding the rides. Took 7 kids and they had an absolute blast running around, waving wands and drinking butterbeer. I picked up a Ravenclaw scarf and zippered hoodie for myself, & everyone else got wearable stuff they wanted from the houses they were sorted into (via the official quiz online.) Here, and Super Marioland are our favorites to see-- at least at this park. If you haven't been yet, you should totally go!
