My wife and I were headed down 70 in our RV when the front airbags lost pressure around the UT/CO border. We pulled off in Grand Junction and started making calls to find someone who could take a look, and hopefully get us back on the road within 24 hours as we were meeting up with friends for my wife's birthday. The problem with our plan was that it was 4:00 pm and every shop in town that I talked to said 'They were closing for the night, and that Grand Junction, being a small town, nobody would even look at our rig for the next 2 or 3 days'. That was, until I called Transwest Truck Trailer RV and talked to Marvin. Marvin told me that he would be working until midnight, and he would do his best to get someone to take a look at our rig, maybe not until morning as there were several jobs in the queue ahead of us, but he'd try. Well he didn't just try. He talked to Wil, one of the mechanics whose shift had just ended as we pulled in, and explained our situation. Wil clocked back in and was under our coach within half hour of our arrival. He determined the problem (bad air leveling rod bushing), rebuilt, and resecured it in under an hour and had us back on our way with barely a couple hours lost; and the cost was a lot less than it would have been at the Freightliner shop back home. I can't praise highly enough the care, courtesy, and professionalism shown us by Marvin and Wil. They went the extra mile for us and made sure our trip wasn't ruined. read more

I would highly recommend this place. The staff here is absolutely amazing. They are so helpful and do a great job of communicating while working on your motorhome. I called with a bad sensor on my def particulate filter and they said to come in and they would fit me in. They looked at it and discovered they had the part to fix it. We travel full time in our RV and we are dependent upon quality service and maintenance to keep us going. We have used Jeremy and his staff for 3 years now and are still very happy with the quality of service they provide. As full time travelers our RV is our home so it's important to us to have it treated as such. We were in Carbondale, CO when we received a Check Engine warning on our Diesel RV. We were reluctant to drive it home to the Denver area. Grand Junction Trans West was the closest repair shop so we dropped in without an appointment thinking we would probably have to wait a day or two to get it checked out. They went above and beyond to fit it in to check the error codes so we would know if it was safe to drive back to Denver. Thankful to find out it was a minor issue and drivable. We purchased a new Winnebago Ekko from Transwest and it was a great experience all around. They communicated well while we were waiting for our RV to arrive. I was impressed by their attention to detail during the final inspection and they allowed us all the time we needed for our final inspection and walk-through. I brought my 2014 Class B to have a new gps/stereo installed, a $1200.00 stereo unit. They ordered it and installed it and in the process broke a lg chip out of the "wood like" plastic dash piece. the manager came out and after the counter person explained to him what the service tech did he said oh we will just order you a new one. After several weeks and not hearing back from them i called and asked and the same manager stated sorry we can't find a replacement so there is nothing we can do. I was not compensated a dime for destroying my dash. I guess its because I only paid 60k for this rv and not "over 200k" like they are used to! The people at TransWest are exceptional at what they do, and so kind and THOUGHTFUL. I have traveled the nation (in my new Solis), stopping at a few dealerships, and no one has been as kind and efficient as they are. They make you feel as if you are their main concern, solving your issues, and getting you back on the road ASAP; they get it. Julia Williams is worth mentioning... a very special Person!!! She has such incredible customer service skills, all the while, solving your mechanical needs. John in service, has a very kind spirit and is reassuring to talk to. Jeremy (in service) has always simplified my concerns and gets right on the job and fixes (whatever it is) ie loose screws, cabinet not closing and lots more, never making me feel like the damsel in distress, that I can be. Most expensive, rude & incompetent shop we have ever done business with. Will never go back here for service or purchase a truck. On 3-29-22 we took our 2011 Isuzu NPR truck into their shop for a failed DEF sensor, sending unit replacement and the ABS & brake lights were illuminated on the dash. After seating on the truck till 4-8-22 they finally supplied me with a $5,781.63 quote. On 4-20-22 a month later William "service writer" said that the truck repairs were completed for the total amount of $6,370.06, so an employee & I made the 160 mile and whole day trip to bring her home. William collected payment in full and said that truck was good to go after a long test drive and final inspection. We got into the unit and realized immediately that the brake and ABS lights were still illuminated on the dash. Needless to say after paying more then was originally quoted our truck was not repaired accordingly and we left extremely disappointed. William gave us a ton of excesses as to why the truck wasn't properly diagnosed or repaired. On 4-26-22 at 3:55pm I spoke to Marcus the "shop foreman" & he supplied us with an additional quote for an additional $3,415.89. I called them back immediately to dispute the excessive charges especially labor, 200 in shipping and handling of parts. Odiously they were not being overnighted. Marcus said that he would happily remove the $530.03 speed sensor part along with an additional $200 in labor for wasting $700 in employee time/pay and fuel for the first incident which would bring the total cost down to $2700.00. I agreed that would be fair, and had them proceed. On 5-6-22 Transwest emailed me the final invoice of $3,494.59 and said that the truck was completed and a long test drive was preformed. Of course they failed to remove the speed sensor and any of the additional labor charges on their finally invoice like they said they would. On 5-10-22 at 11:30am an employee and I returned for our truck. I inspected the truck before going inside and getting the keys, only to noticed that the throttle peddle was broken off and laying on the floor in the truck. I can only assume this happened during their 2nd test trip and final inspection. Of course I was beyond frustrated and disappointed. I went in for the paperwork and requested to speak to a manager and the lady at the service desk was extremely rude and said that he wasn't available. Almost $10,000 and a month in a half later without our truck no manager's have contacted me. Do yourself a favor and shop around first. read more

I had a truly 5 start experience with these guys! I am a complete newbie to traveling and was very nervous since my first time driving the Travato would be when I drove it off the lot and took it home. My (sorry I don't know the official name) reviewer guy took the time to show me all of the features and operations of the Travato as well as some "tricks". He allayed the fears that I had based on other people's stories. He took me on a drive so that I could see how easy it was. All of my worry was for naught. I then worked with the most amazing finance gal. She worked hard to get me the best rates. She let me know ahead of time what was needed. She worked with my insurance folks when they didn't do something right. When I got home, there was an internal light on that I couldn't find the light switch for. I called in and they went out in the lot and figured out where the switch is and let me know. read more

We bought a used 5th wheel trailer and were promised that it would be thoroughly inspected and any repairs needed would be done. This included replacing tires if they were worn or out of date as well as a thorough cleaning which was to include the carpets. When we did our final inspection it was in a dark work bay and we couldn't tell that none of the cleaning had been done. We were specifically told that the tires were checked and had a date of 2017 on them. Once we left the lot we realized the cleaning hadn't been done. We did it ourselves and just shook our heads. Once on the road we experienced a leak at the black tank flush system where a fitting had apparently been fixed and was installed by them cross threaded without any plumbers tape. We also noticed that the tires were actually 2015 and expired. We notified Brian and he agreed to pay for new tires. When we arrived at our destination tire shop he was unable or unwilling to pay for the tires and said he would have a check sent to reimburse us. One month later, and many conversions with Brian and messages left and unanswered by management, nothing is resolved. Don't believe any promises from them. Transwest Truck & Trailer - Service bays - Trailer Repair Near Me - Grand Junction, Colorado

While two of my requested service items were performed satisfactorily, I have no evidence that the third item, which involved the replacement of a defective part, was performed, even though I was charged for it. The defective item was in a position that was easily visible but difficult to access, and was identified. After review of the repair I saw that no screws or panels had been removed for access, and the "new" part was in exactly the same location as OEM. The replacement would have required the removal of some very sticky 3M tape and there was no evidence of that. No marks, no scrapes, no debris. The marks were still in place. Finally, after the repair, the same identical problem existed as prior to my visit to TransWest. I cannot truthfully make any accusations because I didn't watch the procedure, but evidence points to a clear conclusion. I cannot recommend this repair facility. read more

On Sept. 24th, 2010 to Sept. 30th, 2010 BE WARNED!!!! (((((( DO NOT USE THIS SHOP- THEY RIP YOU OFF AND CURSE YOU IF YOU ASK QUESTIONS )))))))) Hi, my boss and I are " Independent Contract Drivers", we had a very bad experience with "TRANSWEST TRUCKS". Our Semi truck was towed into this location for inspection and repairs of possible, injector, turbo and/or head gasket issues. The shop mechanics did a pressure test on the following day, after bringing in the truck. Hours open for a Saturday are 8am-12pm (noon). "I" went in at 10:30am and found the only mechanic working that day "JOE" sitting in the office playing cards on computer and making copies on copy machine, I spoke to him for an hour. He said he had been working on our truck and he never even got back to work the whole time I was there. (I went to see what work was done. Only a pressure test, on the Compressor was done). On following Monday, my boss and I went into shop and truck and tools in same place as on past Saturday. We were told that the specialist mechanic comes in at 11:30am that day, and he will work on truck. At 1pm same day my boss and I went back into shop and talked to mechanic, he had removed the Valve Cover and pulled out injectors, then told us he had to go work on another truck. ( I slipped into my truck and took a nap while it was in the shop, mechanics didn't know). At 4pm I left truck to meet boss, we went into the office and shop Supervisor said mechanic is working on our truck and had been. (They didn't know I was in the truck and "NO" mechanic did any work on truck the whole time I was in the truck). We were told they would pull the head off the truck that same day, which they had some time left, from 4:30pm to 8pm to do so before they close. At 8pm..my boss and I were in our secondary truck outside at the curb and seen all shop personnel and office, they left for the night. So we left, the following morning my boss went to shop at 7am to see our truck and what had been done, (took pictures). The head and injectors were pulled and all in a neat order. So we left and came back at 7pm and tools and parts were still in same order as in morning....NO WORK WAS DONE ON THE ENGINE, NO TESTING FOR THAT WHOLE DAY. ( They only did actual 6 to 7 hours of work, but were charging us for 12 hours) So we spoke to them of this and they didn't like it. We found another 3 shops in town, that could do same job, be done by now and cost only HALF the price. So we told this to John, of how we were being screwed over for LABOR HOURS and no mechanic actually had spent that time on our truck, due to we were there everyday checking in on them. We argued with shop personnel and so we asked customers of their experiences: Customers stated: One had been there for 14 days to get their engine turbo fixed and paid an outrageous amount, around $8,000 dollars or so. Another customer said, they had been there a MONTH with their RV which needed a transmission front seal replaced, the shop ordered the wrong one and had to reorder the correct one, they paid around $12,000 dollars for a seal, mostly was labor charges and they said the mechanics were hardly ever working on the RV. A third customer said, he had his truck brought in for an electrical issue, and had been there for 2 weeks and paid $4,000 dollars for a wire harness and it DID NOT take care of the problem. Then us, we were charged around $3,000 dollars and never got full service, our engine never got put back together and we offered to pay to have it reassemble, but shop manager would not do it, because we looked into other shops and told them of how they were PADDING THE BILL, with labor charges and the mechanics had not spent those hours on our truck. ALL OF US WERE JERKED AROUND!!! THE SHOP SUPERVISOR, CAME OUT TO ME OUTSIDE WHILE 2 OTHER MEN WERE ASKING WHY A TOW TRUCK WAS TAKING OUR TRUCK. ( WE WERE GOING TO "STEWART STEVENSON'S" PROFESSIONAL CERTIFIED SHOP) "JOHN" THE SHOP SUPERVISOR TOLD ME TO TAKE MY "FUCKING ASS" AND GET OFF HIS PROPERTY!!!! He did this in front of other customers, so I went into the office to tell the office manager "DAVE" and even he yelled out, you have your truck, it's being towed, so what do you want me to do? I HAVE FILED WITH THE BBB (BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU) OF COLORADO AND THE "ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE" OF COLORADO AND THE BAR (BUREAU OF AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR) WITH THE STATE OF COLORADO. Transwest over charges, takes their sweat time, pads the bills, and lies about how long it will take to do the job. THEIR FAVORITE LINE IS: "IT WILL BE DONE...TOMORROW". It isn't just that their hourly rate is on the higher side, it seems they further pad their wallets with higher than normal hours billed. I had one of the hydraulic jacks on my class a motorhome fail and repair was to be a manufactures warranty repair since I had just had the Jack replaced nine months previous. The manufacture shipped a new Jack no charge to Transwest. When it came to paying for the labor the manufacturer refused to pay the excessive hours Transwest attempted to build them. The manufacturer indicated the job should take about an hour and Transwest was billing for three. They eventually agreed to pay an hour and a half. Since I had the Jack replaced elsewhere nine months previous and was billed for an hour and a half labor this seems to be justified. I also had them install a steering stabilizer. They called to tell me it would be three hours of labor. Unfortunately I approved that, but then began to think that seemed to high. I called the manufacturer and they indicated the job should take about an hour maybe somewhat longer if they needed to cut off one of the U bolts. After I approved the three hours at 10:30 AM I showed up at Transwest at 12:30 and found my rig in the parking lot ready to go. So it is obvious that it took no more than two hours. My bill still reflected a three hour charge. After raising a stink about this they did reduce the billing by $100. A third item I had them look at was my Carefree electric awning. The end caps needed to be adjusted to line up with the accessories lot. Checking the job, I extended my awning and noticed the awning arms were wobbling where they connected to the awning roll. I returned to Transwest to have them check this, they said it's normal and charged me another $75. Talking to Carefree, they indicate this is not normal. There's actually more I could rage about but this is already gotten kind of long-winded. I wanted to get details rather than just say they charge too much. Had a recent breakdown in my rv while driving through grand junction co. Staff and mechanics were very friendly. My bill however was enormous. The fuel pump and fuel filter had to be changed out and even though i provided them with the parts, I was still charged an enormous amount for just labor. Unfortunate. read more

My husband and I purchased a brand new motorhome last year from a retailer in Iowa although we reside on the Western Slope of Colorado. Soon after purchase we discovered a leak in the RV as well as various other issues. Warranty restrictions forced us to take the motorhome to Denver or Salt Lake City for repair. Each location was 4-5 hours away from our home. After repeated attempts, lots of frustration and months of lost time we failed to have our issues corrected at Camping World in Salt Lake as well a truck and tractor repair shop in Denver. Out of frustration we decided to pay out of pocket and take the RV to Transwest in Grand Junction (close to home). BEST DECISION EVER!!! Not only have all of our repairs been taken care of Jennifer (she is awesome) worked with our manufacturer so we ended up paying little to nothing out of pocket. Jeremy the service manager is outstanding, professional and provides excellent customer service. Jill has been beyond helpful and very sweet always answering our questions. Our Cascadia started heating up and thankfully we had plenty of fluid with us to replace what we'd lost until we got to Transwest Truck Trailer RV. The Transwest team were helpful, professional, and courteous. They had a nice lounge area that was able to keep us comfortable during our time there. We had a new radiator (which they had in stock) in the truck within about six hours. This involved many phone calls and effort on their part. In addition, they kept me informed of progress every step of the way. These guys couldn't find there ass with both hand if they were sitting on their face. We took are RV due to an air bag issue. I asked if they could fix it "No problem" They spend a day and half trying to diagnose the problem when I told them what it was in the first place. It was the first thing on the trouble shoot guide that made any sense. They charged me $400 didn't even come close to what the problem was and wasted a day and half of my life. I'd rather pay to have my RV towed to Denver or Salt Lake before I'd let those baboons touch it. read more

Actual cost was twice what they quoted. With all of the additional costs, I'm surprised they didn't charge us for them watching us hook up our trailer. We had bought a horse trailer from Transwest in Longmont and had a great experience, but it's obvious this Transwest is not ran by the same people.
