So, I was riding my bike from Austin, Tx to Provo, Ut for my youngest daughter's wedding held on 8-22-2024. Coming down through the Rockies on I-70, my bike overheated and broke down. I called my dealer (Cowboy Harley) in Austin that services my bike. My service manager Parmer put me on hold for a few minutes and told me they have a sister dealership in Grand Junction, Co. He called them for me and explained the symptoms I told him and said they are expecting me as soon as I could arrange a tow. My insurance Geico sent out a flat-bed truck to Rifle, Co to pick me up and bring me 70mi to Teddy Morse on a Friday. Long story short, it turns out the water pump and a couple sensors went out. Thank God I bought an extended service plan for it last month! I must say my service team (Sabrina, Tracy & Paul) were the consummate professionals! They got me back on the road the next day (Sat afternoon). I really want to shoutout Paul my Tech. I know a little about the mechanicals of my bike and Paul went out of his way to invite be back into the shop to show me what he did, what is broken and what was fixed. Paul....you rock brother! He found a motorcycle he wanted but it had been sent to the Grand Junction Harley store which had a BMW section. He called and dealt with Greg Ooley. Ended up purchasing the bike and then we had to figure out how to get it back to Denver. We decided on a road trip and was there when the shop opened in the morning. They had not gotten the bike ready due to unexpected events. So we waited while they got the bike ready for the road and completed the final paperwork. While he was busy I sat and visited with the manager of the BMW section and the other sales person. My bad for not getting their names. I was still tired from the drive the previous day. But they were welcoming and made me feel at ease. The other KTM sales person was also friendly. And when I walked over to the Harley section to use the restroom, the sales people there smiled and said hello. We thought that the whole experience was much better than in Denver where the sales people are fine but a little more snooty. Like they're the ones doing you a favor. My buddy and I were on a 3200 mile bike trip when his bike developed a mechanical issue. We limped into Grand Junction HD and they weren't able to help us. I get that they were busy, and the fact they couldn't help us isn't my biggest complaint, it's that they were RUDE, uncaring, and dismissive about it. Service department so good, I may come back from CA just to buy a BMW or KTM from this shop (co-located dealership with HD). As I told the owner: my local BMW shop in CA has plenty of attitude, just not the right kind of attitude! Everyone in this shop had a great attitude. It is a rider's shop staffed by riders! Really friendly, outstanding customer service. My story? A friend and I were doing UTBDR dual sport route (google it) and my partner in adventure had mechanical problem in Moab with his KTM1190; we encountered so much mud it built up between his front tire and fender to point that fender blew off! Given we were half way through a epic off road adventure, decided it had to be replaced to keep moving forward. Called this shop hoping they had a replacement in stock, they didn't. GIVEN WE WERE MID VACATION AND IN A PINCH, THE CREW AT THIS SHOP WERE AMAZING! They stripped a part of a new showroom bike, sold to my buddy, and got us back on the road. We were not very stoked to kill a day of our trip riding round trip to Grand Junction from Moab but, to be honest, hitting this shop and meeting the staff was, dare I say, fun, and made the diversion worthwhile. For me, as "traveler 4," I was grateful from the start they reserve a tech to support travelers on a first come, first served basis. True, I spent 7.5 hours waiting, but the work was well done and I was kept informed throughout the day on status. What I appreciated most - as I was packing up to go, dang lid fell apart on the saddle bag. Parts only had one screw, which left me two short. GM went back into service and found them after checking with the technicians. And being the smallest Torx head in the world, she also loaned a tool to complete the job. Traveler 2's experience was a lot less positive, but speaking for myself, we made our original destination that night and the trip is back on schedule. read more

This review is regarding sales for a BMW. I live out of state and found a bike that I've been searching for over the last few months on Cycletrader. Bill in sales got in touch with me and informed me that the bike was still available. I let them know of my particular situation, living off continent and needing to arrange for shipping. They did not currently have a system set-up for transactions such as mine for the sale but were going through the process. I've purchased two vehicles off island before so I was aware of how the process should go. I would check in on progress every few days, and was told they were still waiting for the system to be setup but everything is good and we'll get you over the paperwork shortly. Then the communication stopped. No returned calls no returned emails. I was about to leave for a hunting trip and wanted to communicate that I would be out of reach for a few days. Ghosting by someone that you're wanting to give money to is a new for me. I finally called and asked to speak to anyone that could tell me if the bike was still available and got the response that I was expecting. The bike was sold about a week ago... So, as you might expect, I can not recommend this place any less based on this experience. I'm sure you have plenty of other options available for finding a ride... '13 Pre-Owned Road Glide Purchase. 4 star rating is not a dis, I was just raised in an era where we understood that perfect was not an option achievable to humans or human enterprises. 4/5 is as good as that measuring system gets in my world. Had my heart set on a different bike, but it went away before I decided that I actually wanted it, so keep that in mind if you're fence-sitting, put down something hard to keep it, or it may disappear! However, Scott and Eric came up with a similar option at a very similar price point and mileage, after test-riding several options, I picked the Road Glide and am not disappointed with it, so thank-you Scott, thank-you Eric, and a very big thanks to the rest of the crew at GJHD for the unexpected, but quite entertaining poker run through the various departments upon the completion of my purchase. I am sorry that I do not remember all of your names, but I am old and befuddled most of the time. I do, however, appreciate all of your efforts whenever I come in with a task at hand, particularly Parts, who seem to receive the bulk of my business, and the Apparel Gals, who are all lovely and always greet me with an honest smile and hello as I pass by on my way to Parts. Harley side is always knowledgeable, friendly, helpful! BMW side has a great sales staff with CIiff and Bill! Great guys to work with or just B.S. with. Parts staff is above and beyond also! BUT the service dept. and mechanic staff has been a nightmare! We have had to return our bike 6 times and it is a 6 hour round trip drive so not convenient, and we now have missed out on most of our summer riding. Service dept. always has an excuse for the parts not being there and it is not just us.... we have been there when other guys have come in to get their bikes and they got they same lame excuse and treatment. BMW means quality and service to us and others world wide but that is not what you get here( excluding sales/parts dept. which rock!) I would've towed into town, stayed overnight, maybe gotten a room, drink some beers and chatted up the local hookers . You know, real "Biker" stuff. Well, that never happened since Bob from service decided not to return my call that day. Even if Bobarino was unable to help... a point in the right direction would've helped since I was stuck in bumf**k Egypt. There is no real customer service these days even when you need it most. BMW Service - I recently had my shocks replaced, new tires and the rear end inspected. One would hope after having that done I would not have to take it back in for leaking rear tire, break light out and a questionable grip switch that was replaced as well. so 3 things wrong out of 4 things done to the bike. The shop was accommodating but for me to take the bike back in it is a 90 minute drive one way drive I will need to drop the bike off a second time and arrange for a ride :( read more

It's hard to rank this dealership as just a Harley Dealer as they also sell KTM & BMW. The little BMW/KTM shop was very friendly & helpful. The counter girl in the HD section also friendly. The HD sales guys didn't have time for me since I wasn't in a pirate outfit like the other customers (shorts & work shirt as I was working). AWESOME!! I was passing through GJ Colorado on a cross country motorcycle trip and was in serious need of some new tires. I called every other dealer in the area and some in Utah and no one had what I needed. Out of desperation, I called GJ Harley and they had just what I needed. I pulled in right around closing time and they were able to get the bike right in. There is a nice Holiday Inn next door, so I got a room there and planned on picking the bike up the next morning. Everything worked as planned and they got me out the door and on the road in a timely manner. They sell Harleys, BMWs and KTMs at this shop. My bike is a Yamaha and they were still happy to work on it.. If there was a bike shop like that in my home town, I would be riding a BMW. Good job guys! read more

This post is based on my dads experience: Mark the service manager, is the guy I talked to on Nov. 15th. I explained to him what I needed done, and he didn't really listen to my request of what needed to get done, he kept saying things as if he was rushing me and didn't want to handle my bike. He should've heard what I needed to say first before interrupting me and giving me attitude by not being helpful like he didn't care for me as a customer. I told him I needed my emblem on my fuel tank replaced because it fell off, and my XM radio wasn't working after they already put it in. For my emblem, they told me to put crazy glue on it to put it back on, yet they are the ones who gave me my motorcycle with the emblem peeling off, so I told them they should be the ones to fix it, and if I had to pay for it I was clear to them I would be more than happy to. He said he was going to talk to Tracey the store manager, but the only thing he told her was to be there for my appointment with my motorcycle. He was supposed to discuss with her the issues I was having with the emblem due to their mistake and my XM radio. I also had them put some new handlebars on my motorcycle, when I got my motorcycle back I noticed they installed handlebars with scratches on the them and they are now telling me they were like that when they took them out of a new box. Why wouldn't they have called me to authorize this to put it on like that, or better yet, why wouldn't they have sent them back and got new ones that were not scratched? He has no customer service skills and was not professional considering he is the manager of the service department, and he was also disrespectful and rude. I will NOT bring my bike to this shop again as long as he is there. I spent $7,000 at this store, and I was treated terrible by the service dept. manager, Mark. When I went in to get these issues fixed I spoke to the store manager Tracey who didn't know about the issues I was having as far as my understanding, but is very helpful, respectful understanding and professional. She got it all squared away and was absolutely great! Now for the parts department, Ed helped me order ALL parts I needed for my motorcycle and he was beyond helpful by helping me put an expensive package together for my motorcycle. For future references, don't take your bike to GJ Harley for SERVICES if Mark is there. read more

Scheduled Harley for a 20K service. Bike entered the shop at 1000AM as scheduled. I was told that the service would take 3.5-4.0 hours. During the service they discovered that the rear primary bearing needed replaced. I got my bike back at 5:25 PM, (store closes at 5:30). They didn't clean up my bike, as it was oily and dirty. Cost - $707.74. Clearly the quality of their service has deteriorated from what it was a couple of years ago when I had a 15K service done. They've lost my business. read more

Very poor service in the service dept. traveling through Gj made an appointment for express service which took over 5 hours and they did sloppy work , the minor fixes I asked to be fixed were not done, they didn't even check the tires and when they brought the bike to me it was still dirty. To make matters worse when I asked what took so long the service tech told me a completely different story than the service writer. I was so disappoint in the service department for doing nothing about my problems with my bike. They claim to have drain some fuel and test drive it but the fuel gauge and the mileage on the bike was the same and they claimed that they didn't have the parts to fix my bike even though they had a full parts department and my bike is very common and not that old. They did get me in fairly quickly since that I was a traveler. They basically took $50 for no work done. I am so upset that this dealership had so many people working there and nothing was getting fixed. There seemed to be a lot of employees for the size shop and they were doing a lot of standing around. Very disappointment in the service department. Retail department was average. read more

GRAND JUNCTION HARLEY DAVIDSON SUCKS DO NOT BUY A BIKE FROM THESE GUYS!!! We tried to work with all of the following people: Business Manager: Dwight Iles Service Manager: Bob Sauer Sales Manger: Ben Hunter Owner: Scott Lindsay We bought a 2009 Harley Fat Boy from GRAND JUNCTION (CO) HARLEY-DAVIDSON in January 2016. It was a bike that had been purchased new at their dealership and then traded in on a new bike at their dealership -- they were the only people who had ever touched this bike -- normally that would be a good thing. We hauled a trailer over there from 30 miles southeast of Denver to pick up the bike in January. It was never disclosed to us that the filler-neck on the tank had been a part of a factory recall. Nor had it been disclosed to us that the filler-neck had been "repaired" by Grand Junction Harley with a tool provided by the factory for that purpose. Being January in Colorado, we didn't immediately ride. When we test road it over there, no one thought to check the gas cap! Several days after getting the bike home a flush mount kit was purchased by us from HD for a new gauge set and a new gas cap. Upon the installation of that (we installed it ourselves -- my husband has professional repair and auto-body experience and it isn't rocket science) we realized that the new gas cap literally fell INTO the tank and didn't catch ANY thread on the filler-neck-- it just flopped around in the filler-neck and didn't grab anything. We also noticed that the factory cap barely caught the last end of the last thread. We have another bike and both of the gas caps worked fine on it. We immediately took it to our local HD shop, Mile-High Harley in Parker, Colorado. It was there we got the full records on the bike, found out about the recall, the repair and our service tech said that the repair was botched by Grand Junction Harley. The factory-provided tool was used ON TOP of the threads, smashing them (making the original recall issue worse) instead of in between the threads to enhance them. We realized that this was the ONLY gas cap in the world that would grab any thread at all in the tank -- if we lost it or damaged it we were hosed. If that last end of that last thread wore down we were hosed. We could never install a custom one. We spent two weeks +/- going back and forth with Grand Junction Harley. At this point the ONLY fix for the bike was a new tank. There was no filler-neck repair possible. Without getting too long-winded we DID NOT DUMP THE WHOLE THING ON THEM. We were very reasonable with Grand Junction Harley -- offering to split it three ways between them, us and the factory if they could get the factory to help. Then offering to split it two ways (at their cost) with them for an identical new, painted, decaled tank. We offered to buy a USED tank, paint it ourselves (my husband does paint too) if they could JUST get us the factory decal!! We found out that Harley Corporate wouldn't sell even them the decal without buying a new, painted tank FROM Harley -- so the new tank was the only option to get the same decal set. We had just spent $11,000 on this bike. We went up the food chain at their shop and the end result was they told us to POUND SAND. They would not offer anything -- not a &%^$ing thing... They had originally sold the bike. Made money. Then they took it in trade for another new bike. Made money. Then they sold us the bike. Made money. If they had negotiated with is for the new, painted, decaled tank they would have been out about $750 out of their pockets on a used $11,000 bike that they had sold twice. We went for a ride last weekend and our first stop was Mile-High Harley in Parker, Colorado to order the new tank. They had their usual Saturday morning gathering going on and were selling a lot of bikes! We were going to begin the small claims process with Grand Junction Harley for reimbursement -- now for 100% of the cost and for all our time and effort. The tank needed to be fixed. There was no real way to tell if the original gas cap even sealed the thing. After a lot of talk with the guys at Mile High -- we rode off on a brand new Road King. Parker Harley gave us FULL RETAIL on the P.O.S. Fat Boy for a trade. It wasn't an option we had considered -- but there was so much "bad vibe" about that bike that I told my husband to go for it -- I wanted him to be happy and having a bike that you have to battle over from the very beginning just sucks; he would never LOVE that bike and you gotta LOVE your bike. It was an option that could have worked for Grand Junction Harley too -- but they didn't even think of it. We could have bought our new Road King from them. So folks -- draw your own conclusion here. Ours is that GRAND JUNCTION HARLEY-DAVIDSON doesn't give a rat's XXX about you once the deal is done. The problems, if any, are ALL yours.
