    Homestyle Meatloaf $28.99

Average food but friendly service! Meatloaf was decent sized with lots of gravy. The butter and sour cream came in little takeout containers even though I was dining in. The steak sandwich is more so steak on toast. Not sure if they make their own fries as they look like the frozen ones, but it tasted ok. Homey decor and this place is for you if you're not looking for anything fancy.

Hello fellow travelers. If you stop here do NOT get the sweet tea, i am from the "deep south" as the menu says and it was NOTHING LIKE TN. i didn't hate the meal but god was the sweet tea ATROCIOUS. INFACT THEY GAVE ME A SIPPY CUP TO DRINK IT! IT WAS HORRIBLE IT TASTED NOTHING LIKE THE JELLO THEY SERVE ME IN TN! i was expecting SWEET TEA. not LEMON WATER!!! anyways the burger was good, and the fries were great. i did not like the pie. it wasn't amazing wasn't horrible. would recommend if you don't know what REAL sweet tea tastes like.

This restaurant is inside Waterton Park. In a small town or a place with couple blocks of shops. But of course this is a resort area location so prices tend to be higher. I came here and got their Canadian Horseradish Burger. So I learned if it doesn't say its made from Alberta beef then its not made from Alberta beef. Yes the Canadian Horseradish Burger is made out of Trappers own Alberta Beef Patty. Wow it was very delicious. Tasty. The bun was fresh. I got it with sweet yam fries for an extra $4. I don't recommend substituting it. For $4 is not worth it plus the fries were a bit soggy. I substitute one of the side for extra slaw. I hate beans. Overall, it was a good meal. The décor is very Canadian (traditional or typical) looking. I like it. When I left I wanted to take a picture sitting in one of the two rocking chairs out front. But a grandpa and a grandma was sitting in it. Well they did look like the typical Canadian cliché. Darn have to go back for that picture (not right to ask them get off chair for me to take a picture). Well I don't mind since I do like this restaurant. According to the server, this is a family ran restaurant. Nice !

Overpriced for the quality. Veggie burger was a store-bought patty for $18; fries tasted a little stale. Service was good though!

We've dinned here multiple times every time we go to Glacier National Park…read more Pros: - Great customer service - Their homemade bread and homemade ranch tastes amazing. Probably the best we've ever had - All the foods we've order tasted great (chicken, bison steak, ribeye, t-bone, crab meat) - All locally sourced foods - Nice Ambiance and love all the wood structures. Cons: - Not sure if I'd consider this a con, but everyone we've dinned here, something is always different (different salad toppings, different sautéed veggies). But I completely understand being it's in the middle of "no where." - Very pricey, but once again, they're not opened year round and it's all locally sourced. You would probably pay the same price in the city for high quality meat, but at least here you're helping a small community! - My only con- I prefer my steaks with no pink and well done (I know, I know). Cut into your steak as soon as you get if you're like me so you can see if they need to cook it more. You're steak will most likely be undercooked, but it's because they're THICK pieces of meat (which is a pro) We will be back the next time we're in Glacier ^_^ 2022- 2024

Our server Melissa was top notch, super friendly and helpful. Great service here…read more The steaks were cooked a little rarer than what I'm used to. But the flavor and tenderness was great. The bread was kind of bland, but fine with butter. It seemed denser than what I am used to. The baked potato on the side was amazing. The Calamari was prepared differently than what I'm used to, I wasn't as into it, but it tasted good. The fillet of tenderloin was by far the best of the 3 steaks. Much more tender and much better flavor. I highly recommend it. We got the Molten lava chocolate cake, and it was not as good. Seemed too doughy. Didn't really like it, also didn't like the cheesecake. Restrooms were stocked, but their soap was weak. The restrooms weren't very clean, and you had a lever to turn off and on the water to the urinal in the men's bathroom. Odd.

I was so hesitant, but thought we could give it another chance. We decided to take our other son, for his birthday. We did make reservations, so our wait was minimal. When we sat down, The waiter was very informative. He also invited questions so it would be clear with any unknown details. So, after we ordered, it was a little bit of a wait. The place was a little busy so this probably was part of the delay. However, when the food did arrive, it all arrived at once. a few employees delivered it so it would happen quickly. One thing that impressed me, is even with different employees involved, they knew where the dish would go to each person and what he ordered. That tells me they communicate. I even think I saw the manager helping deliver to the table. The staff were all working together. Looking at the combinations, the cooks must have timed everything perfectly for the 5 different people. everything was perfectly cooked, and resting at good temperatures when delivered. With all the combinations, the cooks performed super well. The food looked great! Now, I was on guard for any details that might not be right. I asked after a few minutes how everyone thought of their food. It was impressive. Myself I had the prime rib, and it was perfect. I think the horseradish was super fresh. It was nice! What a super nice prime rib! I should of ordered the bigger one..... At random times i did ask again, and everyone was really happy. And, again, the birthday desert goes down nice for the birthday boy. This is a nice touch. I appreciate the managers involvement to our previous experience not being perfect. I did not expect anything when I posted before, but was impressed that someone cared enough to contact us. It was his encouragement why we decided to return and try again. It was a really great experience this time. Thank you!

Great food excellent service I had surf n turf and my wife had 10 oz classic prime ribread more

We had to wait a little bit due to a staffing shortage but that's was fine to get out and stretch our legs and look at the BEAUTIFUL gardening and flowers on the property. We were seated outside which was cooler than inside as many places do not have air conditioning in the area. The server was clearly from another country so some of his English was broken. He let us know that it might be a minute since he had just taken a large group's dessert order. He meant no harm and we knew that - cultural differences in speech delivery. We saw quite a few teen aged workers at our time around GNP so we wondered if there's a work program. Anyways, with the view we had, he could take all day. We got our drinks which were so good. Our food came out within a reasonable amount of time. My steak was a tad overcooked but it was still delicious. A train came by during our visit which was so fun to watch! Unfortunately, they ran out of the huckleberry cheesecake so I did not get to try that - super bummed! I can't remember how much the bill was, but you expect to pay more in a place like this I guess. Great dinner overall!

We like our steaks cooked differently and sometimes that seems to be a challenge for other steakhouses, but Buchanan's got it absolutely right! The steaks are served with little seasoning but you can ask for steak sauce or steak seasoning if you require a little more spice. My only complaint is the cost of alcohol. 3 amaretto sours and 2 Old Fashioned's came to a total of $80.00. While servings were a good size and drinks tasted good, that's $16.00 a drink. We were a little gobsmacked by the bill but couldn't argue it because we didn't ask cost nor for a drink menu when we ordered. I realize dining out is crazy expensive these days but $16.00 a drink? Lesson learned for us, but man that put a dent in the dining experience and excellent service and we walked away feeling a bit ripped off. When your drinks cost $10.00 less than your steak dinners, made for a killer pricey night. I gave 4 stars for service and quality of steak,

Worst filet mignon I have ever had…read more I don't say this lightly, but this was honestly one of the worst meals I have ever had at a steakhouse. I eat A LOT of filet mignon, so I know what I expect from this cut of beef, especially when I am paying $44 for an 8 oz filet. The filet came with garlic toast, a side salad, and a bowl of spaghetti for the table. I also added a side of mashed potatoes for another $5. I ordered my filet medium, just like I always do, and while it did come out medium, it was completely dry with absolutely no juice. Even after adding a liberal amount of salt and pepper, it was unbelievably bland. I have never had a filet mignon that I needed to put steak sauce on just to be able to chew and swallow it...EVER. At first I thought maybe I had just gotten a bad filet, but my husband's was the same way. For $5, I expected the mashed potatoes to at least be real potatoes and a decent-sized serving. Instead, they tasted like instant potatoes and the entire serving was about the size of one small ice cream scoop. Then I tried the spaghetti, hoping the sauce might be amazing. If that wasn't Ragu or something extremely similar, I would be shocked. There was nothing about it that tasted like the kind of homemade sauce I was expecting. The rest of the menu and experience were disappointing as well. There was no bread brought to the table, there were no appetizers on the menu, and we were told none of the desserts were made in-house. What was especially strange was that the lady at the table next to us ordered salmon. Salmon was nowhere on the menu we were given, nor was it ever mentioned or offered to us. Apparently there were options available that we had no way of knowing about. Even the presentation of the filet was disappointing. It came out on one of those old-style metal hot plates that reminded me of the plates Mexican restaurants used to serve enchiladas on. Our waitress also never asked us to cut into our steaks to make sure they were cooked correctly, which is something I normally expect when ordering steak at a steakhouse. The one genuinely good thing I can say about my meal was the house-made ranch dressing on the side salad. It was very good. The garlic toast was fine, but certainly not enough to make up for everything else. I was incredibly let down. I went in expecting an amazing filet mignon, especially with the advertised Montana beef, and this was absolutely not it. For the price of this meal, I expected a completely different level of quality. Overall, this was a one-star experience for me, and that one star belongs to the salad and the house-made ranch.
