You know how it is, if you stop in the middle of a project you're making progress on - it could derail the rest of your evening :) Anyway, I ordered a cheese calzone - extra mozz because is there ever such a thing as too much mozz? Not in my book. Their calzones are HUGE and so tasty. Just the right amount of salty goodness, with the marinara providing a needed tang in each bite. I also ordered the funnel cake fries after having tried them at a meeting a month or so ago. These. Are. So. Good. Nice place. Good food n great service! Lots going on there on an early Friday evening . Plenty of tables n chairs in two seoarate rooms from the full bar n kitchen area. With an extensive menu above the open kitchen area, you order food there n they bring it to you. The pizza was good, including the gluten free one! The chicken wings were crispy just the way they should be. Pitchers of soda too. Also, had a really good antipasto w balsamic Italian dressing on the side. This is great for kids too, at least at that time of the night.. I saw plenty of vending n games . Little ones having a blast running back-and-forth from the game to game.. Went to lunch here on a Friday and it was pretty busy. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. They give you a number so they can find you. I got the fish fry and it was a pretty big piece of fish and I liked the coating. The French fries were not greasy and not overly salted. The coleslaw was pretty bland and I wasn't crazy about it. I enjoy Trappers for for the following reasons: -food is good (sandwiches/pizza/wings) -nice beer selection -lots of seating (Both indoor and out) -volleyball in the summer (fun to watch) However, with the good usually comes some bad.... -food took quite some time to arrive -too expensive...everything here is just a buck or two more than it should cost...$11 for a lunch wrap and drink is excessive Overall I'd say Trappers is a nice option for a happy hour drink or two as well as some snacks, but I'll pass on them for lunch/dinner. read more

Food is good but will not return. Staff preparing food were not wearing masks or gloves during pandemic and preparing food. I literally watched a male staff member/cook continuously cough all over someone's food order as he made their pizza and not cover his mouth or turn his head. He was not wearing a mask either. Great local spot...especially for lunch as they are consistently open and deliver everything in a timely manner. Everything I've had on the menu is pretty good at worst. The highlights for me are the pizza and wings and my favorite dish on the menu...the Chicken Philly. If I could give this place a 10 star review I would. My one criticism however is the size of the pickle they are providing with their sandwiches. I've noticed it has gotten smaller and smaller over the past few months. Do better! Ordered a large order, over 50 pizzas for delivery...just set on a cart at the door. 1 hour before delivery they called and said they needed to charge me a 20% graduity. Looking for bars around Syracuse: This is where to go. They have outdoor beach volleyball leagues in the summer, a nice patio, a great arcade for "kids" with all the bar games, a full bar with very reasonable prices, lots of tvs for football/baseball, and quality pizza, wings, etc. Not expensive, and you won't be afraid of getting knifed (Marshall Street), robbed (Armory Square), or shot (Westcott). A group of three of us went here because we were looking for good pizza and one of the guys in our group said they had a good experience here. We arrived around 10pm, to the register girl telling us we had to be out by 10:30pm because they were closing early for a private party. We agreed and decided to order something quick. Several times we tried to give the girl our order only to find her spaced out looking in the other direction and responding with "What? oh sorry what'd you say?" We finally placed our order and sat down. The atmosphere is run down and tacky and when we finally got the food it was awful. Ordered medium wings and pizza. The wings were burnt and over cooked so badly that half of the wings were actually missing pieces of the bones! There were also bone shards in the bottom of the container. The taste of burnt oil is also awful with anything fried and other than being so spicy hot you couldn't eat them if you wanted to, the burnt taste was disgusting! They were very, very dry from being so over fried! The one thing I thought might be good was the blue cheese but for some reason they put an enormous amount of black pepper in their blue cheese! It is so awful! Didn't even get any celery... The pizza was very bland and the crust almost nonexistent. I would say "paper thin" but quite honestly it was less than paper thin! I didn't really have any food here and only one alcoholic beverage, as I came for Paint Nite. However, the atmosphere was great and it was rather busy, so people apparently like it here. Fortunately, my friend and I got there early for Paint Nite and got seats with good lighting, as I heard others weren't as fortunate. When we went to get drinks, it took a little while, and I would say it was because it was busy, however, we were there at the bar waiting before a large group went up, and yet they were served first and we ended up waiting a good 5-minutes longer. No biggie since we weren't exactly going anywhere and I don't get upset easily by trivial things, as it happens, but my friend admittedly got a little annoyed. Paint Nite, as always, was a lot of fun, and I'm already planning the next one with other friends!! I usually play volleyball (or used to until I dislocated my shoulder a month ago) at Trappers 2, so I'm more familiar with that setting. Outstanding customer service! We thoroughly enjoyed our tomato topped, large cheese pizza...it was awesome....perfect crust, generous amount of toppings, fresh from the oven. I was also impressed that you could purchase slices premade with many various toppings. The beverage variety was extensive....i had raspberry ice tea.,,,(pour your own).....my friends had icy cold beer. The place...(including restroom) was very clean....and it was warm.....there's a little wood burning fire place at the bar....it helped create more atmosphere....it is spirited and clever via its decor. The staff and patrons were warm and accepting of this newbie. The music was outstanding. The Steele Brothers Duo entertained the all age crowd....feet were tapping and people were singing along. I ordered food for delivery through GrubHub from this restaurant and after waiting for 2 hours, decided to call them. They claimed I was outside of their delivery area (even though delivery showed up as an option on GrubHub) and that they tried to contact me twice. I had my phone with me the entire time - no one called. The person on the phone was very rude and completely unapologetic for the situation. She also claimed she called my number and once was yelled at by a man, then another time told that no one by my name was reachable at that phone. My phone number is accurate in the GrubHub system. Obviously someone misdialed and no further effort was made. Beware of ordering from this place (especially on GrubHub as the restaurant clearly did not communicate their delivery area properly). I do not ever plan on dining at this restaurant after this poor example of "customer service". read more

Stopped in on a Monday night with a few friends for trivia night. About halfway thru it I ordered a pizza to go, but I didn't want it ready till until trivia night was over(which was about an hour). Well, long story short, I got my pizza home, pizza was ice cold, like they made it that very second they put the order in, and let it sit on top of their oven the entire hour. Order food from door dash first time and there own delivery service the second time . They messed up my order both times. But when i order from door dash food was hot and very good just fogot my daughters garlic knots and only reg chicken when ordered buffalo witch wasn't really and thing to complain about. So we tryed right thow them and this time my hole order was there but sent reg frys when we order loaded frys. Was the thing i was looking forward to the most! This would be a 5 star review if it weren't for the expensive prices as compared to other local pizza places. There pizza and wings are hands down the best in Syracuse. The prices are slightly higher than most. If you compare a place like Twin Trees East you can get a 2 topping large pizza, 24 wings and a 2L for $30 after tax. The same would cost $40 at trappers and you'd get 4 less wings. They used to have family night where the food was discounted and deserved a 5 star review, but that is no longer. An arcade room with air hockey, pinball, and the classic crane game along with hot rod racing while waiting for your food. Big game tonight? Trapper's has a big screen along with multiple smaller televisions so you can watch your favorite sports with a group of friends. Just want a night out with some friends? Make your way to the bar for some drinks and some football. The service is great, and if you don't feel like eating in, take it to go and enjoy it at home. The pizza itself has some thin crust and is kind of greasy, but it's great stuff nonetheless. I've had the meatball sub a few times and that is also very good, but like every other meatball sub it can get pretty messy and tends to crumble, so I suggest sticking to the pizza and wings. Stopped in for some wings and a beer around 6 on a Thursday. Horrible service. I ordered wings(not at the bar or at a table, but at a cafeteria style fast food line). I was given a number and told it would be ready soon. I walked over to the bar and found a dirty empty spot. While waiting for the bartender to acknowledge me(it would take 10 minutes because she was busy talking to friends) the food order taker employee comes up to me and informs me I have to pay before they can cook the food. I hand her my billfold and continue waiting for the bartender to look up. Wings were okay. Beer was beer(they don't make that!). Service and atmosphere was horrible, horrible, horrible!
