We visited yesterday and absolutely loved it The food was very delicious, everything was served quickly with no long wait. The service was friendly and attentive, and the little gifts from the chef were such a nice surprise We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back

Sushi Kuma is easily the best sushi restaurant in the area. While our all-time favorite is Sushi Kashiba, Sushi Kuma is truly a head above the rest in South King County. It's a small, quaint restaurant with great ambiance and beautiful, unique presentation. I came with my daughter, but this is not a place for young kids--this spot is about the experience. Seating is limited, and that's intentional: quality over quantity in every way. For anyone complaining about price--respectfully, you're wrong. This isn't Trapper's or a basic sushi spot. The fish quality is excellent, the execution is thoughtful, and the service was great in my experience. If this restaurant were in Seattle or Bellevue, the prices would absolutely be higher for sushi of this caliber. Also, if you're asking for discounts, free items, or happy-hour pricing when it's not happy hour... come on. If you want high-quality sushi at a fair price, this is the place. Every penny was worth it. What we ordered: * 20 pieces of nigiri * 1 roll * 2 soft drinks * Yellowtail, maguro, otoro, chutoro, and white king salmon Pro tip: don't go out for great sushi on a tiny budget. And here's the irony--when you actually spend money and don't ask for free stuff, good things happen. We were treated to two yuzu sorbets on the house and even offered an extra soft drink. Bottom line: If you appreciate craftsmanship, quality fish, and a proper sushi experience, Sushi Kuma delivers. Thank you Sushi Kuma! We'll def be back! You are now our go to sushi restaurant around here.

Still awesome. Today we went with takoyaki starter and it was delicious. Wife had the scallop lover roll and uni. I went with the chirashi again. This place never disappoints. Their service and quality of food is incredible.

I always crack up reading reviews that give 1-3 stars and complain about prices. Go to Trappers. It's the Bonney Lake white man sushi Mecca.. This tiny spot is an oasis for those of us who know and appreciate fine sushi and the overall experience. Amazing service, presentation and quality. The menu has so many items we want to experience the next time we pop in! This place gives me hope Bl is no longer a corporate chain area.

This small hidden gem was kind enough to accommodate a party of 13 at a last minute notice. From the moment we walked in, the service experience was great from all of the staff and chefs. From there, it was a majority of items ordered for appetizers before the rest of rolls and nigiri were ordered. Everything from quality, presentation, portion, and price was a hit.

The sushi here tasted so fresh! It's small and the atmosphere is really relaxing; definitely recommend reservations. They have a wide assortment of food and drinks, including imported Japanese drinks and a wide variety of sake. Even the bathrooms are nice, with heated seats and their own little fake tree. Speaking of fake trees, the Sakura tree in the main dining area is a really nice touch.

Best sushi I have ever had. Visited on a Friday night and it was busy, but we had one table readily available for us. The rest who came in afterwards had to sit up by the chef. It was pretty pricey, but tasted phenomenal for the price. Ordered the Scallop Lover ($28) and the Surf & Turf ($28). Love the presentation and it was our own favorites. Service was great. Didnt have to wait too long for our food. Was patient when we were indecisive on what we wanted. Overall, we will definitely come back. Finally a restaurant we love in Bonney Lake.

This place is wonderful for a date! It is beautifully decorated and the food is amazing! The sushi presented is top quality and served like art. I only took away 1 star due to the price. It is quite pricey hence why I recommend it for a date or special occasion.

    Loved this!

We LOVE Kuma! The fish is incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared, the presentation is gorgeous, and the service is always extraordinary. We always feel welcomed and really well looked after. Even when it's busy the service is always fantastic. The restaurant has also always been a lovely place, but they recently apparently decided they wanted an upgrade, and it's prettier and more elegant than ever. We have always had an amazing meal at Kuma, and are just addicted. Thanks for amazing food and a wonderful time!

60 reviews and almost a perfect 5 star rating. You don't see that often. How is there not a line out the door all day every day? I think us locals are keeping it a secret. All I know is, this place is by faaar the best sushi in Bonney Lake. Possibly all of Pierce County and can compete with the best in Seattle and Bellevue. This place is legit. But! You get what you pay for. Bill goes up real quick and it's worth it. So, don't come in expecting conveyor belt sushi and fake krab in every roll. You can go to Sumo Sushi if that's more your speed. Come here for delicious high quality sushi with amazing service. There has not been a single thing I have ordered that I did not like. Enjoy!

This is the best most authentic sushi spot in Bonney Lake. I came here during lunch and had a great experience. It's definitely very elegant and elevated. The fish was super fresh and delicious.

First time coming here. The outside isn't very inviting and we weren't sure if it was actually open or not. The inside is very nice though and the bathrooms are clean, and are also nice. We were the only ones there as it was about 3pm on a Sunday. We ordered gyoza and the spicy tuna tacos. The gyoza was good but the tacos were better. Not a huge fan of the tobiko on top. The rolls were also very good. I have to say, the pricing was very expensive. If I need a fix to get sushi in a pinch, I would come back here again.

The cheesy garlic chicken is a must in my opinion. Lastly, the Absolute was not what I was expecting but still very yummy. We got a PB cookie, M&M but my favorite was their Almond Joy. We couldn't resist their Caramel Apple Pie Slice. Not a crumb was left on the plate. To finish it off, I had to try a Red Velvet slice. This was not my favorite.
