Ordered lunch at Niko Teriyaki and the food was loaded with sauce. Got everything out of our dollar. We ordered the Chicken Katsu and Spicy Chicken Teriyaki. Chicken Katsu was crispy, but it was a bit flat, meaning there wasnt a lot of meat in each crispy bite. However, they do give you a bed of crispy chicken. The Spicy Chicken Teriyaki was very spicy. Appreciated that they provide two extra sauce containers on the side. For appetizers we ordered two packs of gyoza. One pack of gyoza contains about 4 pieces. Was crispy on the edge and soft in the middle. Overall, decent teriyaki with decent gyozas at a decent price. We see ourselves definitely coming back here. read more

Disappointed in this and it was not cheap. The chicken was cooked well but the rice (which is half the dish) was terribly dry...and the sauce was scares. I got a drink and this for almost $17. I didn't even eat half the rice. The "salad" was lettuce with a tiny cup of mayonnaise as the dressing. I say mayo because it was the same flavor, consistency and flavor of Mayo. When I came in the last behind the counter didn't greet me. Then when I tried to order she turned around flung the curtain back and yelled at someone in a language I didn't understand, then allowed me to continue ordering. Maybe I am used to a certain type of teriyaki up closer to Seattle. Like Toshi's or Yummy Teriyaki. But I wasn't a fan of the meat here. The flavor just wasn't there for me. Using plenty of Sriracha made it better of course. I ordered it from Door Dash and it got here super quick. I appreciated their speed as I was starving and this made me full for sure. read more

I used to enjoy eating here when they cared about the quality of there product that they serve guests. The sauce is absolutely the heaviest teriyaki sauce I have ever had. The restaurant is somewhat messy and the employees don't really care about customer service. They mainly care how much you spend and how full the Big Tip jar next to the register gets! The restrooms are filthy and they sell expired bottled drinks FYI. Overall two stars for the great white rice. read more

When we first started going to Niko two years ago it was easily a 5 star teriyaki. The flavor and the freshness was top notch. Now it is at best it is a 3 star! Flavor can sometimes feel burnt (not chard) and has the consistency of chicken that is a few hours old. They frequently forget to add items to the order or mix orders up. read more

Some coworkers and I had ordered food from this restaurant last Friday March 8th, I ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki to be specific. Not even 24 hours later I was already feeling unlike myself. This was the first time I've tried this resturant and the only meal I had outside my home. A couple days go by and the feeling persists and progresses (severe nausea, no appetite, stomach pain, throwing up, weakness, body aches, as well as multiple visits to the bathroom). By Sunday I was admitted into the emergency room because the stomach pain was unbearable. After many labs and tests were run, I was told I had NOROVIRUS. This virus is spread by contaminated food, individuals or contaminated surfaces from infected feces. The food is good but clearly isn't worth the health issues! More hygiene standards need to be put in place!! Make sure employees are washing their hands please!! read more

The teriyaki chicken tasted a little rubbery, the price for the short ribs was ridiculous & for three slices at that or to mention with a ton of rice! The eggroll tasted like the eggroll you could get at Costco as well as the gyozas. Then she offered me a plate that someone ordered and didn't pick up at a discounted price and when I said okay, she said she'd give me the egg roll for free which wasn't a discount at all. If you get the daily special the prices are fantastic considering 1 order is easily enough for 2 people. I've only had chicken teriyaki (many times) and the katsu, both really good. Niko Teriyaki is a great option for Japanese / Teriyaki if you're in the area. They seem to have a large menu with variety, offering not only the standard teriyakis, but also bentos, udon soups, as well as some sushi. The prices are very reasonable and they offer daily specials which are pretty much unbeatable. The food was tasty and came with a huge portion size. The only downfall was that service was pretty slow, especially for a teriyaki joint. Service: You need to order at the counter, and if you're dining in then they'll bring your food to the table. You can grab cups and silverware when you order, but if you forget then they'll get them for you when your food arrives. Unfortunately the service seemed pretty slow. We had to wait over a half hour for our chicken teriyakis. There's no need to bus your own table afterward your meal. Atmosphere: The restaurant is fairly small with only about 10 tables. However, it seems like most patrons order to-go so that doesn't seem to cause any issue. I can't really comment on the decor as it was pretty plain inside. The place seems relatively clean. There's one restroom in the back, however, which was quite gross. Parking: Parking is readily available in the front. Niko Teriyaki is located in a shopping center so there's ample space. read more

I don't know how to say it, the teriyaki chicken smelled funny, I tried to eat the spicy stuff I ordered and I just couldn't. It was delivered but this had nothing to do with the delivery, the teriyaki chicken was just "bad", it seemed dirty or gamey and the other family members noticed it also. We couldn't eat it. I have ordered from this place before without issue but it just seemed like we were served something that wasn't even chicken. Sorry, not going back. read more

I called to resolve the issue and the woman just kept saying she was sorry and there was no one she could talk to to address this issue. She wouldn't issue a refund or deliver the missing food. I haven't been here since the 90s (because i moved) but I remember this place was one of my fave teriyaki places period. The south end of the Puget Sound has always had better teriyaki than the north. I still struggle to find one IN SEATTLE that is as good as all the places i loved growing up. Im also Korean and know that most teriyaki joints are "Korean fast food" and that's what I'm looking for when i eat teriyaki. I forgot how good this place is; last time I visited was 20 years ago or more. I rate teriyaki joints based upon their chicken teriyaki AND beef teriyaki. The chicken has to have the perfect balance of having some nice char to counter the sweetness of the sauce. They have it to a science--gobbled it down! Char is perfect! Beef teriyaki is where i put on my inspector glasses. Beef teriyaki is a fast food version of bulgogi, classic Korean BBQ beef dish. The good teriyaki joints use high quality ribeye meat for their beef teriyaki and don't overcook it. If a teriyaki joint has mediocre beef teriyaki, than it doesn't pass my teriyaki test aka good, cheap Korean food test. Niko is officially my fave teriyaki place of ALL TIME NOW. Their beef teriyaki was like the best bulgogi at my fave Korean restaurant. They're using at least USDA Choice rated beef because that meat melted in my mouth. And it wasn't overcooked--little hits of char but cooked perfectly so the meat was so tender. Here i am a day later wishing i would have ordered an extra beef teriyaki to eat today too--THAT GOOD! I wanted to love this place. Cute little shop, the lady at the counter was very sweet and knowledgeable. BUT the food was below average. We ordered yakisoba and what we got was half a container of white rice and the other half yakisoba with tons of veggies and hardly any noodles! We also ordered the spicy chicken which was lacking flavor. They must use a lot of msg because both my husband and I were extremely thirsty for the rest of the night.
