This was a recommendation from a friend. We are SO GLAD we listened! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance in the restaurant is very relaxed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat at the sushi bar for the all you can eat lunch special. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) we ate was spectacular! The servers were quick and friendly! I can't wait to go back to San Antonio just so I can come here again!

Went to the one on Dove creek and sitting at the all you can eat takes tooo long. Ended up at this one and they were sooo friendly constantly checking on us. And as you can see it was delicious.

What an awesome gem! Stumbled upon this place during my lunch hour, got some awesome recommendations from my server, decided to try them both and everything was simply amazing! I enjoyed every bit of these dishes and already thinking of going again and trying something new. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot is so inviting, everyone was so friendly and the food was fast and delicious![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Try them out!

Second time. At the bar. Chefs are on point. The servers are not! No water, no tea, no low sodium soy sauce. She is attending tables. I guess she is going after, what they perceive as a potential bigger tip? Idk. Do I call them out? Or just call it a day. Idk when will be the next time I'm in San Antonio. When that happens, I'll will probably not be coming back. The Chefs at the bar are great. But the server I got, was trash (bad). Maybe it was because I was wearing shorts...

My son and I have been planning to try this place out ever since we got a 25% off coupon in one of those mailer envelopes. Today, we finally made it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is very nicely laid out. The decor is bright and modern. It looks like they are aiming for the younger nightclub crowd.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did not want all you can eat sushi, so we were led to a booth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will say that the booths are pretty tight. We were able to force the benches back a bit, but had someone been at our neighboring tables that would have been impossible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If I were a manager, I would have my staff shift all of the benches to make them more accommodating for larger guests. Both the manager, who greeted us at the door, and our server gave us lengthy explanations on how the restaurant works. They really seemed to be pushing all you can eat. We had decided earlier that we did not really like the sushi choices on the lunch menu and didn't want to pay nearly $40 bucks for the dinner menu. The sushi on the lunch menu all seemed "over produced". It was as if they asked an AI sushi designer to create them with a prompt like this: Create a variety of sushi rolls that will please hipsters using lots of unusual and flashy ingredients. Me? I like spicy tuna rolls. I'm not into those super californicated creations. Luckily for me, my steak bento box came with four pieces of spicy tuna roll. It also came with a heaping pile of seaweed salad, which was not listed on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised by that. It also had a very nice portion of perfectly cooked and flavored bulgogi beef on white rice and some tempura veggies (asparagus, zucchini, and an onion ring) which were amazing. My son ordered the Long Roll Variety. It had four pieces of different specialty rolls. I have to say they looked really pretty. He really liked the "crystal shrimp" that was on some of them and said the rolls themselves were delicious. He offered me a taste, but, as I said, I like spicy tuna rolls and sashimi. Not into fancy concoctions. He said the accompanying cucumber salad was really good. We both liked the miso soup which seemed more flavorful than I have had at other places. Would we go back? Yes, we would definitely come back for lunch. I really enjoyed my bento box. However, if I just wanted to pig out on sushi, I would go somewhere that has more of what I call "normal sushi rolls".

I had so many rolls I can't remember which one was my favorite! The Rainbow Roll was fresh! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was quick and it was nice and quiet even though a lot of folks were there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Guess that what happens when the food is great! Will stop again for the lunch buffet. It's with the price!

My beautiful wife and I spent a very special evening at Trapper's Sushi. Our server , Layla, was very nice and attentive. She took very good care of us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was welcoming and very open. There was a Sushi restaurant vibe and we felt very relaxed and calm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cocktails served here were very tasty and mixed perfectly. Sushi rolls were delicious and very well made. Jalapeño poppers as an appetizer were very good and generous. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and decided we would be back with our amazing chicken and grandson.

Ordered online for delivery to the house. Rainbow rolls were not rainbow rolls. They were missing items and the fish was half cooked. Very unimpressive.

Great promotions and great prices! I ordered a couple items on happy hour (1/2 off from 2-6pm every day): tempura vegetable and trapper bites (tempura crab) along with miso soup. Everything had good flavor, but the miso soup wasn't really warm when it came out. I told the server and she said they are working on the temperature settings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is spacious and there are plenty of parking options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll come back to try a lunch bento box, plus kids eat free on Sundays, so that is worth checking out as well!

Yelp warning: they were having a server contest to push reviews in exchange for a free mochi dessert. Nothing wrong with that!

Came in for lunch, Eulyn was very quick to greet and sit us. She helped accommodate us to a table in the back to fit our stroller. Food was delicious and fresh as always. The specials are decently priced, lunch specials and the 2 for $18 rolls that includes a miso soup. If you download their app and make a rewards you get a free roll with few exclusions. The all you can eat portion is ONLY at the bar, something to keep in mind. They were having a server contest/free dessert promo when leaving a review. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant was quiet, clean and service was excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restroom did not have paper towels that is my only small critique.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Had a great time at their soft opening event. Love the atmosphere of this place! They have tables, booths and the bar area for seating. Love that they have TVs to watch the games. We ordered their calamari for an appetizer. We also ordered their California crunch roll as well as the sushi town roll. Everything was delicious and made fresh. Didn't get to try any drinks but definitely would like to next visit cause those looked good as well. Service was great! Our waiters were friendly and attentive.

We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.

Could be a nice, intimate place for dinner though we were seated next to a pretty loud group. Service was fast and friendly, which was appreciated. The meal itself was decent, not great. Tried the masago and snow crab off the sushi menu; the former was good, but the latter strangely dry, as if it had sat out a little too long. An appetizer portion of the shrimp and vegetable tempura was very good. Particularly puzzling was the unagi roll. Not only did each piece of the roll fall apart, it was doused with so much eel sauce that it was hard to taste anything else. Looking back on it, I should have sent it back to the kitchen. Of note was the tempura banana dessert, which was a sort of Japanese take on a sundae! Putting crisp, hot chunks of fruit up against sweet vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup (not berries as the menu claimed) was...well, interesting. I probably wouldn't order it again, but it is novel. Average it out and it's a decent place, though I would only come again if I was in the area for something else to begin with. This place scores a 3 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.
