Shrimp tempura and pan fried gyoza
Rachel P.

Such great food and such a helpful and friendly staff. My daughter and I had been wanting to check out this place for a while and so very glad we did. Everything was hot, fresh and unbelievably amazing!

Why haven't I come here sooner?? This spot is awesome! The food is delicious! I got the chicken katsu curry Toshiba set with gyoza, but I'll definitely be back to try the beef bowls. Once you order at the counter, the food is brought out to you. Service is friendly, and this is a casual dine-in eatery with upbeat vibes. There is complimentary water, as well as Japanese chili powder if you want to make your food even spicier. They also have free wifi

Yoshiya easily earned a spot on our go-to eats in SA after our first visit and for good reason! First off -- any place that has a meal for 2, iconic. You have the option for 2 beef bowls or 2 chicken katsu bowls, gyoza OR french fries, and 2 drinks for $33! The portions are great and we even had some leftovers. I tried their miso soup and chicken katsu curry bowl & my bf got the beef bowl with pickled onions and slaw. Everything was packed with flavor and made with TLC -- we were greeted right away when we walked in and they had great energy.

This is now our go-to when myself or hubby don't want to cook that night! Which lately, has seemed to be a lot because this restaurant is AMAZING! Everything is always still hot when it arrives & is always delicious! We haven't been to the restaurant itself but we have ordered it at least 3 times now for takeout! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants the best bowls of your life!!

Yoshisoba

For a smaller restaurant, the atmosphere was absolutely immaculate. Beautifully decorated with modern Japanese culture and traditional artwork, and kept clean round the clock by the staff. The service is either kiosk or counter service. Either way you get your food run out to you by the kindest people and they are happy to help with questions. I ordered the Yoshisoba which is like Yakisoba, stirfried ramen noodles with crunchy fried onion and vegetables. I added shrimp which was only a few bucks extra. Everything was reasonably priced. Drinks are bottled only but free self serve ice water. Would come again and reccommend to anyone looking for Japanese comfort food. Not like ramen or sushi but something really unique.

Beef bowl with green onion and pickled ginger!

Wow, just wow! I visited Yoshiya's because the menu and pictures reminded me of a chain in SoCal called 'Yoshinoya's'. When I mentioned this to the owner, he said, "You can think of us as Yoshinoya's, only upgraded. And he was right! Yoshiya's is in a strip mall, there's plenty of parking. The place is small, with about 3-4 tables and bench+table seating for a dozen more against a wall. However it's very clean and I like the anime decorations! The J-pop or K-pop's played overhead is a little annoying but it does match the atmosphere. Service was fast and friendly, and DANG the food was good. Get the beef bowl with green onion and pickled ginger, you won't be disappointed. Also, probably the best shrimp tempura I've had in SA, it's got a delish sweet mayo sauce on it. Definitely I'll be coming back! This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

B1. Chicken Katsu Curry

Been meaning to try this place, went on a Saturday around 1 pm and there were seats available! Staff is helpful and friendly! Brother ordered a Chicken Katsu Curry, which we both enjoyed at a level 1 spice - we have a low tolerance to spice and level 1 is probably the kick we just needed. I had a Beef bowl, which I did enjoy as well, if you like the sweetness of beef bulgogi, then yup this dish is for you! The tempura was not what I expected- was expecting the typical tempura with dipping sauce, and would probably order a different small dish next time, but it's not worth taking a star off the review.

We were in the area and decided to try this place. It reminded me of Yoshinoya (which they have locations in certain States now) from Japan so I had to try it. Ended up ordering the traditional beef bowl and it definitely reminded me of the beef bowls in Japan! I also ordered Takoyaki and yum!!! Very authentic! Service was great - got the food so fast!!! It was empty when I went in.. it definitely should be busier because the food is good and service was great! The place is nice and has a cute design on the walls in the back. Highly recommend!

Excellent Food with a lot of flavor! Staff was also very courteous. My Volcano Bowl was very authentic as was my wife's Beef Udon Soup Bowl.

My first visit here! The service was amazing :) We were greeted by every employee that saw us and we were also thanked for coming in. I was craving miso soup, and they were able to satisfy that craving & then some. The sea salted edamame was fresher than most places & the chicken karaage was larger than most places. Im not complaining, the more chicken the better :) The restaurant's customer areas were clean and well-stocked.

For ramen, I recommend the "red" Aka Fuku. For udon noodles, the tofu was delicious as well if you need a vegetarian option. There is a small kids' menu and other non-noodles traditional Japanese dishes available as well. For drinks, there are the standard soft drink options, hot teas(or cold), beer, and wine. The atmosphere is very casual, but not to the point of feeling like a rushed lunch hour. It was not very crowded on our visit, but I noticed they probably get more to-go orders than seated service. Hoka Hoka Fuku is an excellent choice in the area if you're looking to have Japanese food. I can't wait to go back and try this place for dinner.

Delicious rich broth and added some sriracha for a kick. Ramen noodles were ok, but would have preferred my fave, udon. I just love the thicker noodles. Server stated udon was a not possibility for the kuro black soup. Friends also ordered the steamed and pan fried chicken gyoza. Service was prompt and establishment was clean. Good food.

The service has always been great and the atmosphere is very welcoming, which is why my family and I kept coming back. However, I recently came back yesterday and was honestly really heartbroken to find out that my favorite items are no longer being served. The pozole ramen and the chicharrón ramen are gone, and to top it off, the pork bellies are gone too. Those dishes were the main reason we would come here in the first place. I had actually been looking forward to them because I was having a really rough day, so finding out they were all gone was really disappointing. No offense to the restaurant, but without those items on the menu anymore, there's really no reason for us to return. It's a shame because those dishes were what made this place special for us.

Service was quick. We got seated right away and relieved our appetizer and drinks quick, The food was soooo good. I have no way of explaining how good the sushi was. The menu is smaller than other all you can eat buffets but I think it's a must if you're a sushi lover. My favorite is the THrill. Which is listed on the specialty roll. It had layers of flavor and diff heats all wrapped in one. The barackade is my second favorite. It was very unique and a sweet sour spicy kick to it. It was not over powering. Over all I give this place a 10/10.

Their Toast payment screen suggested tip percentages based on the original bill of $261.05, even though our actual total due was only $187.08. That means the "18%, 20%, and 25%" buttons were calculating tips on an amount nearly $74 higher than what we actually owed, which inflates the suggested tip by a significant amount. Most people are paying quickly and trusting the machine, so this setup absolutely feels designed to push customers into over-tipping without realizing it. Tipping should be based on the final amount owed, not an inflated pre-discount number. Management really needs to fix this because it leaves customers feeling misled at the very end of their meal.
