I'm a huge Japanese curry fan. Yoshiya did not disappoint. Thinly sliced beef, with great dark curry over a generous portion of rice. Everything comes in plastic to-go containers. The curry reminds me of S&B beef curry. Reasonably priced as well. The restaurant has anime on the TV with Japanese pop music playing over the speakers. Plenty of seating and parking. Staff is very friendly, greeting people coming in with the traditional Japanese welcome. A+ I will definitely be back to try other dishes and bowls.

Tried out this place and loved it! Wasn't sure about the menu but the young man who served us was very informative and fun! He helped answer questions and recommend. I got a box set with the beef (chose noodles instead of rice) pot stickers and the miso Soup to go. We also ordered the cheese meat bowl. Food was well packaged and remained hot, and we got chili oil to go! Food was great! Noodles had a great texture. The beef was very ginger forward and had a hint of sweet but was very good. Cheese noodle beef bowl was outstanding as well. Portions of the box set left me with lunch the next day. The decor is super cute, fun and bright. There is a shelf with awesome manga figures! Totally recommend and will try again!

Such great food and such a helpful and friendly staff. My daughter and I had been wanting to check out this place for a while and so very glad we did. Everything was hot, fresh and unbelievably amazing!

Why haven't I come here sooner?? This spot is awesome! The food is delicious! I got the chicken katsu curry Toshiba set with gyoza, but I'll definitely be back to try the beef bowls. Once you order at the counter, the food is brought out to you. Service is friendly, and this is a casual dine-in eatery with upbeat vibes. There is complimentary water, as well as Japanese chili powder if you want to make your food even spicier. They also have free wifi

Yoshiya easily earned a spot on our go-to eats in SA after our first visit and for good reason! First off -- any place that has a meal for 2, iconic. You have the option for 2 beef bowls or 2 chicken katsu bowls, gyoza OR french fries, and 2 drinks for $33! The portions are great and we even had some leftovers. I tried their miso soup and chicken katsu curry bowl & my bf got the beef bowl with pickled onions and slaw. Everything was packed with flavor and made with TLC -- we were greeted right away when we walked in and they had great energy.

For a smaller restaurant, the atmosphere was absolutely immaculate. Beautifully decorated with modern Japanese culture and traditional artwork, and kept clean round the clock by the staff. The service is either kiosk or counter service. Either way you get your food run out to you by the kindest people and they are happy to help with questions. I ordered the Yoshisoba which is like Yakisoba, stirfried ramen noodles with crunchy fried onion and vegetables. I added shrimp which was only a few bucks extra. Everything was reasonably priced. Drinks are bottled only but free self serve ice water. Would come again and reccommend to anyone looking for Japanese comfort food. Not like ramen or sushi but something really unique.

This is now our go-to when myself or hubby don't want to cook that night! Which lately, has seemed to be a lot because this restaurant is AMAZING! Everything is always still hot when it arrives & is always delicious! We haven't been to the restaurant itself but we have ordered it at least 3 times now for takeout! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants the best bowls of your life!!

Beef bowl with green onion and pickled ginger!

Wow, just wow! I visited Yoshiya's because the menu and pictures reminded me of a chain in SoCal called 'Yoshinoya's'. When I mentioned this to the owner, he said, "You can think of us as Yoshinoya's, only upgraded. And he was right! Yoshiya's is in a strip mall, there's plenty of parking. The place is small, with about 3-4 tables and bench+table seating for a dozen more against a wall. However it's very clean and I like the anime decorations! The J-pop or K-pop's played overhead is a little annoying but it does match the atmosphere. Service was fast and friendly, and DANG the food was good. Get the beef bowl with green onion and pickled ginger, you won't be disappointed. Also, probably the best shrimp tempura I've had in SA, it's got a delish sweet mayo sauce on it. Definitely I'll be coming back! This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

Been meaning to try this place, went on a Saturday around 1 pm and there were seats available! Staff is helpful and friendly! Brother ordered a Chicken Katsu Curry, which we both enjoyed at a level 1 spice - we have a low tolerance to spice and level 1 is probably the kick we just needed. I had a Beef bowl, which I did enjoy as well, if you like the sweetness of beef bulgogi, then yup this dish is for you! The tempura was not what I expected- was expecting the typical tempura with dipping sauce, and would probably order a different small dish next time, but it's not worth taking a star off the review.

First of all, they had a kid's meal, which is always a plus. We started with the Ika Geso Age (deep fried squid tentacles) which were a hit with everyone at the table. I ordered the plain ramen for my child, and they enjoyed the noodles once we put some on a plate and cut them up. My husband and I opted for the Kuro Fuku which we customized in our own ways. It was absolutely delicious, and we finished the entire bowl. I can't remember what my aunt had, yet she thoroughly enjoyed her meal. For dessert, we had the Chocolate Lava Cake which was so yummy! I'm not sure what type of syrup was on the ice cream, yet paired with the mini bundt chocolate cake that had a melted surprise in the middle, it was the perfect way to end the meal. The service was great and exactly what we'd expect from a restaurant focused on East Asian food. The atmosphere was nice, the seating was mindfully spaced for small parties of 2-4 people, and the wooden vertical slats on the windows to block the sun was a functionally, yet aesthetically beautiful choice with the Japanese restaurant. I definitely recommend visiting for a meal and bringing a friend or two.

The fries were amazing and had a generous portion of crab meat. The ton katsu platter was also great, the pork katsu was crisp and delicious but the show stealer was definitely the Japanese curry. It was so flavorful and perfectly seasoned but the potatoes were a bit undercooked and hard. I also ordered a Draft Sapporo which was unfortunately flat with little to no carbonation.
