    Eggplant Napoleon (sooooooo amazing!!!)

Love this woman-owned Italian restaurant. Food, drinks, and service are always absolutely outstanding! I recently had an eggplant dish there that was out of this world. Worth every penny! I want to call it fine-dining, but there is no pretentiousness. They don't even buff the spots from the wine glasses.

Stacy our waitress was amazingly kind, we walked in without a reservation with two kids and she happily sat us and let us know the best food items on the menu. We started with the calamari, burrata and truffle fries then had the short rib parpadelle which was amazing, the shrimp risotto and the kids bolognese as our main meals. The desserts were also perfect especially the fosters waffle ice cream. We will definitely be back! Thank you for the amazing experience!

The exterior is unassuming, to say the least, but the interior is warm and welcoming. We had the strongly recommended reservations and were promptly seated. Some lovely wines were forthcoming; I could not resist the "Prayers of Sinners and Saints" from Washington state, while my wife's Sella Antica Super Tuscan was superb. Warm bread and garlic oil arrived to whet our appetites. We celebrated her birthday with Pesce Del Giorno En Papillote (Sea Bass with saffron potatoes, herbs, lemon, capers, tomatoes, and olives) while I tucked into Braised Beef & Truffle Pappardelle with mushrooms, demi glace, and a touch of cream. Son wolfed the Spaghetti allo Scoglio with clams, mussels, white wine, garlic, and fresh parsley. We finished the feast with flourless chocolate cake, an apple tart, and raspberry truffle ice cream. The Trattoria features produce and products from local farms, and it shows. Very tasty throughout, and a wonderful way to celebrate any special occasion (or just the fact that it's Wednesday!)

    Rigatoni bolognese

This is a great Italian spot in Ellington. If I was in a deserted island with their rigatoni bolognese, I'd be in heaven. We've tried a lot of their apps & entrees and have consistently been impressed. Also the ricotta doughnuts with salted caramel ice cream.... amazing.

The ambiance was nice and cozy , good music playing in the background , not to loud and easy to have a conversation . To start off we got the Italian meatballs which were amazing highly recommend. We also ordered the mozzarella sticks which I loved the cheese pull was perfection and nice crunch on the outside , highly recommend as well . For my entre I got the NY strip . Served with mashed potatoes and green beans and topped with mushrooms and gorgonzola ! The sides were good but I really enjoyed my steak ! It was cooked medium rare , and the gorgonzola cheese on top was perfection ! I highly enjoyed it ! For dessert I got the tiramisu which was fantastic ( small portion) but very good ! Highly recommend ! Overall 5/5 ! Good atmosphere , good service and great food ! Perfect for family gatherings , eating with friends or even a date night ! Can't wait to be back !

Busy place for a Wednesday evening. Our server, Autumn, was efficient, pleasant, and attentive. My friend and I split rollatinis, which were very good. She also had the veal parm (her go-to meal at TT). I went for Grandma Lena's Sunday Sauce. Don't tell my doctor, but we also had four Aperol Spritzes. My first time; very refreshing. Rolls arrived w a saucer of EVOO mixed w spices. Her VP covered the plate...a very generous portion. Side of penne. My dish reminded me of my sister's best friend, Honey's Sunday sauce. A smorgasbord of different meats and other ingredients slow-cooked all afternoon. There was sausage, braised short ribs, a meatball, etc over spaghetti in a marinara sauce w a dollop of ricotta on top. Both of us took leftovers home. A couple of other things to mention. On Wednesday evening, TT features live music. On this day, it was a singer / guitar player. While she was very good, it can get loud, especially if you're seated in close proximity. Also, entrees took a bit longer to arrive. Maybe because of the crowd? Anyway, food was awesome, drinks potent. A relaxing way to spend an evening. 5 stars

Decent ravioli, not the best dine in experience…read more Came here as a lunch option for the area. The inside is well decorated and there was a lot of coolers with pasta and raviolis. We went to the front and ordered the butternut squash ravioli in butter sauce and their lobster roll special. Food came out in a reasonable timeframe, we perused the oils and vinegars while we waited. The lobster roll was a flop. Dry lobster on top of lettuce barely warmed on a non toasted hot dog bun. It's a ravioli shop, so I didn't have high expectations, but figured they have worked with lobster before so I had higher hopes The ravioli we got were also a pretty big flop. Raw uncooked pasta in broken butter sauce and no seasoning. The butternut squash filling was puréed to heck and reminded me of frozen butternut squash sides you buy from the grocery store. Not bad, but lacking. The fries and onion rings were good. Bagged but good quality, the highlight of our meal. The staff were friendly, and the space was small but cozy. I highly suspect the faults of the kitchen are mainly due to them not having dine in orders frequently. I would stick with the prepared pastas and make whatever you buy at home.

It took away the succulence of the shrimp and the gluten free stuffing needs some seasonings and not so much of it. The gluten free orange Italian cookies were fantastic! Louise arrived once we were seated and took our drink orders and was very good on ensuring the drinks were exactly what was needed. We ordered their soup of the day, beef vegetable, pasta with butter, house side salad, and large meat lovers pizza. The soup had plenty of beef chunks in it along with some nice vegetables in a great broth. The pasta was cooked perfectly and had plenty of butter with it. As always the side salad was good sized with green peppers, cucumbers, carrots, (left out the tomatoes as requested) and then plenty of blue cheese dressing. The pizza came piping hot and heavily loaded with sausage, bacon, pepperoni, and hamburger and the right amount of cheese. This is what gives them the 5 star rating as the pizza was one of the best that I've had in a long time. The flavor of all the meats and the quantity was amazing and definitely will be another one that will be chosen in the future. The restaurant has recently had a makeover and has a very comfortable seating combination of individual tables and booths. However, our server was either overwhelmed or I'm not exactly sure why we were consistently overlooked. We just wanted a refill on our sodas or some water. They do a coat check and the bar area and sitting nearby is super trendy appearing with couches and well lit social gathering spots right near the front of the restaurant. They also have quieter areas on the side and back where we sat that is more peaceful if you want. The food was very good. A few things were slightly off which is why I dropped this to a 4 rather than a 5. The ricotta and honey app was solid but the bread was a bit too charred and the bang for buck on the order was a bit low for what you get. Conversely, the special zucchini flower with zucchini spaghetti was out of this world good. It was sad that you only get 1 flower in the order as it is not really able to be shared, but it is worth the taste if they have it on the menu the night you go. The main dishes were very good. The pasta tasted fresh as if homemade though both the penne and lasagne sheets were a tad thick for our tastes. However the taste was on point and I have to say that was one of the better lasagne's I've tasted in some time. The flatbread pizza was probably the biggest hit for the table. Good balance of sweet, tart and protein with the peppery arugula giving a nice touch of freshness to the dish. It is big too, plenty enough as a meal for 1 or to share between 2 if getting apps and other things. The nice thing is no issues of greasiness or feeling bloated when we finished and left. The food was filing and very tasty and this is worth a trip back. I do think the wine is a bit on the pricey end compared to many places I've seen around lately. The desert menu looked like it would be a hit for us, but we had no room after our meals. Even the kids enjoyed the food quite a bit though we did have some ala vodka left over at the end.

What I do have qualms with is the pizza and the salad. The tabbouleh salad was good flavor wise, but very overdressed. Was soggy in vinegar, which was overpowering. The pizza was soggy as well, undercooked and floppy. The topping were too heavy and made everything undercooked. The chicken was spiced well though, and it was clear that it was decently prepared chicken. It just wasn't a good pizza. Stick with the Lebanese side of the menu, and you should be okay. We looked online for local restaurants to dine at during our stay. Neither my girlfriend or I have ever gone to a French restaurant, so we decided on The Metro Bistrot, due to all the fantastic reviews. I called and spoke with Jay (chef and owner) a week prior to make the reservation. We took an Uber from the hotel, as it's BYOB and brought a couple of bottles of wine. This was a Saturday before a big snow storm the following day. I think due to this, the restaurant wasn't as busy as usual. We ended up being seated in the back room all to ourselves. It was a very nice room that had about 4 tables. Stephanie, our server was an absolute delight! Turns out she works for the hotel as well and she's the one I spoke with when we booked the room. She opened our Beaujolais for us and brought some wine glasses. She kept the bottle chilled in the fridge for us. She went over some of the specials being prepared that night and was able to make some nice recommendations. My girlfriend ended up with the special seafood soup special with a lobster stock as a base. I ordered the escargot. Both were absolutely fantastic. She kept our bread basket filled with wonderful fresh warm bread to soak up all the goodness of the soup and escargot. My girlfriend ordered the boar shank and I ordered the stuffed quail that was stuffed with foie gras and pate. The boar meat fell right of the bone and was some of the most tender meat we've ever had. Both dishes were phenomenal. Jay stopped by our table to chat. He's super nice and even took some photos with us. We ordered 3 different kinds of cheeses prior to ordering dessert. All three we ordered were great! Stephanie also brought us a bowl of crackers to go with the cheese. For dessert, my girl had the cheesecake with an oatmeal crust and fresh berries. I'm not usually one for sweets, unless it Crème Brûlée, so I opted for the Boursin stuffed Shrimp, forgetting it wasn't an appetizer, but a main entree. It was out of this world! All the fish Jay brings in are always fresh and NEVER frozen. He even poured me a small glass of some white wine and it went so well with the shrimp. We cannot wait to go back. The prices are very reasonable and the service and food is second to none. Cheers!
