We were told by our European relatives to try Florence steak which we honestly did not know was a thing. Luckily this restaurant was located right in front of the train station. We came inside for lunch and were seated promptly. We both got the lunch combo which came with steak, potatoes or salad and a cup of red wine for 26 euros. Talk about a steak. When we got the steak it was a huge Tritip! I was amazed of the size of the steak. However, the flavor was pretty good but nothing I would go out of my way for. My mom and I asked our hotel for a recco for dinner. We didn't want touristy. The concierge said that there would be tourists but also locals, he frequents the place as well Bc the food is delicious. He was absolutely right. We waited in line for about 15 mins at around 8:30pm. The turnover is fast but they don't rush you through your meal. Mom and I both got steaks and ordered two sides. They initially brought bread but I'm gluten free (I know, it's annoying to me too!) so we told them no thank you (also, we had been charged for bread that we didn't ask for in Rome, so now we just say no whenever they put it on the table). The waiters and waitresses were so accommodating, they went above and beyond to bring gluten free bread AND made us the complimentary bruschetta app on g-free. I would never have even asked, but they made it a point to make sure I could enjoy what everyone else was. I thought that was incredibly thoughtful. I'll post pics of our food and explain in the photos what everything is. Food was great. Service was great (which is sometimes hard to find in Italy). Our main waiter was Romario. He was an absolute gem, making us both feel very welcomed and taken care of. Ordered the liter of house red which, as another reviewer commented, was absolutely perfect and a notch above most restaurant house wines. We ended up spending about 85 euro (with 10% discount) and added a tip on top, as service was not included. Bottom line: if you are worried that this place is going to be too touristy, don't worry. We did too and it was delicious and worth it. It's not a hole in the wall gem like you find on the small vicolos, it's a different kind of gem and experience. read more

The most amazing, mouthwatering Steak Florentine (Fiorentina) ever. Period. Absolutely delicious. Will not disappoint. I thought it was kind of gimmicky from all the "best steak" signs, but I'm a believer now!!! It's been 1 month since I ate this steak and I literally still think about it. So much that I felt compelled to relive the experience by writing this review. I was nervous when I first saw the steak come to the table because it has quite a bit of fat throughout, but honestly, even the fat tastes good. It's a crazy melt-in-your-mouth, buttery, caramelized flavor. It is a lot of food. My boyfriend and I split the steak and we were struggling to finish it at the end. We also had the Crostini Misto to start. I ordered fries on the side which I barely ate because there was just so much food. Boyfriend had the grilled vegetable side dish-- delicious. The wine is also superb. We had an incredible red wine, but we can't remember the name. It's a pricey restaurant, but SO worth it. We came on a Monday night in the early summer months around 8pm. Great place, great food and great service. Right next to the train station. I ordered the steak and asked for medium rare. Next thing I know it came out medium rare which showed they knew how to cook it. The steak melted in your mouth. My wife ordered the truffle pasta and loved it as well. Portions were pretty big (except for the raviolis). 4:30p when I went there. Not busy at all. Service was inexplicably slow. Ordered some bread and oil/vinegar. Standard. Might as well have been store bought in the States. Nothing special whatsoever. Linguini w clams was decent. Not at all mind blowing. Portion size was adequate. My server never came back to check on me. Had to ask another for more water. I guarantee there is more authentic food and far better service mere steps away. For a great experience and meal, try elsewhere is my advice. read more

This is my first time in Florence and I researched this place as having the best Florentine Steak around. My wife and I arrived and was seated immediately which was nice. Our waiter, Marco assisted us in making a few selections, but that was as good as it got. The wait staff forgot the place our appetizer and when our main course came out...nearly an hour later, my steak was dry and the potatoes were overdone. My wife's meal lacked flavor and Marco never came back to check on us after he "placed" our appetizer. The only good experience about this establishment was the house wine. At the end of the meal I paid and Marco finally came to ask about our meal. I gave him an earful, but all he gave me was excuses. The meal in total was 90 euros. I was in Florence for a day and came here for an early dinner so was able to eat off the fixed price menu. You would think with the marketing this place does it would be just another tourist trap but it was the best steak I had during my trip and a great value. My only regret is not ordering a more traditional streak instead of the one on the fixed price menu even though it would have been more expensive. Definitely would go back here. read more

First of all, the food was good. The 1 star (I would have given 0 if given that option) is for the bill. For the 2 of us on 12/21/2017, we ordered the 24.50 per person option that included an appetizer, 450/500g steak, potato or salad, and water and wine. When the bill came, instead of it being 49 euros, it was 75.50 euros! The restaurant charged 5 euros for copperto, and then the appetizer, water and wine all separately. Upon disputing the charge (what's the point of ordering the combo menu if we were to pay all items separately?), the bill came down to 50 euros and the reason the server gave us was some lame "this menu program is new and we mixed up." The sad part is we would have paid the copperto treating it as a tip had the server not tried to rip us off, and due to this shenanigan he's also out of the 5 euro. Needless to say, we will not ever be returning to this place. To others who are going, please make sure to read the bill very carefully. read more
