Wow! Hole in the wall place next to our Air BNB that is completely unpretentious. Set menus at incredible prices. This is not the fanciest of dining places but I enjoyed how relaxed it was. Wine/water included. Bread was not very good, but everything else hit the spot. They get people in and out too, which is great. We had pasta arabiata, pesto gnocchi, flank steak, lox, salad, peas. Nothing blew me out of the water, but what a steal and what a relaxed atmosphere. Would come back in the future.

I need to start by saying this was the best food I have ever eaten. Everything from start to finish was incredible. The best meal we had in Italy and one of the best meals of my entire life. The flavors were incredibly, mind-boggingly good and it was a literal steal for what you got. We didn't know what to expect since it's a small, locally owned place off the main track but the food here blew us away. I wish we were in Florence longer so we could have come back again and again. The two of us opted to get a Florentine steak with a dinner meal of the beef stew, with pesto ravioli and salads. The price came out to about $50-60 total and we got so much food and several glasses of wine. The steak was the best cut of meat I've ever had. It's unlike any steaks in the US and the flavor was just incredible. It is cooked to absolute perfection, a perfect medium rare (medium for some of the outer pieces). There is no option to cook it well so don't even ask (but please don't even try, it is perfect as it is). The stew was also amazing. We ate everything and practically licked the plates it all tasted so good. I'm sure everything on the menu is incredible and you won't go wrong. Please eat here if you are in Florence! It is a do not miss! Bonus, the staff all spoke English for the tourist. There was a good mix of tourists and locals inside. I felt very welcome as a tourist, but 100% this was not a restaurant catering to tourists only.

Very good meal after a long day of sight seeing. Spotted this place on our walk back to our air bnb. We all wished we had ordered the chicken and beef special when we saw it presented at another table. Honestly looked Iike it could feed 4 people. We had excellent service from what appeared to be a mother and daughter. I had the lasagna which was good but not as epic as the chicken special. Delicious side dishes.

This is my favorite place to eat in all of Florence. It is very authentic and such nice people work here. The nonas are in the kitchen cooking and the food is so delicious. The portions are amazing and left me full even stuffed!!! This place is so cozy and gives the vibes of being at home. While studying abroad I discovered this and it feels like eating a home cooked meal!!! I love this place so much and will definitely come back anytime I am in Florence.

My wife loves me dearly. She trusts my judgement and knows I will never steer her wrong. She has confidence in my decisions and knows that I. Know. Food. For these reasons, the ONLY man she trusts when it comes to planning out our every move while on our European vacations is...... You guessed it..... Rick Steves! (You thought it was me didn't you?) Rick Steves, the travel guru himself has been our guiding light throughout our Euro travels. He got us through Barcelona, Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice, and even Athens, and no matter what, he never lets us down. Before every overseas trip, my wife will go buy Ricks book(s) of the countries we are heading to and review his latest tips and tricks on the hotels, restaurants and must-see sights to visit. Just like every other recommendation that we have taken from Rick Steve's books, his review of Trattoria Da Giorgio in Florence was spot on. He stated the restaurant was located on a sketchy street in Florence and that you would have to go through some sketchy alleys to get there, but it would be worth it. He advised that it's a restaurant where locals and tourists come together to eat a home style meal all for a price that won't break the bank. Well let me tell you..... He was right... AGAIN! ---------------------------------------------------- We made our way through a sketchy alley with locals just hanging out staring at us like we were from another country (well, I guess we were). They were harmless and we kept pressing on. Down the "sketchy" street we accidentally zigged instead of zagged and went the wrong way and noticed the numbers on the buildings were going higher instead of lower so we turned around and went the "right" way. At last! We found the restaurant and walked in. Just as Rick described, we were greeted with a warm welcome and were seated at a table for two. Our dishes were nothing fancy, but they tasted good and the prices were appreciated. Just as we expected, we ate a lovely home-style meal amongst other tourists and locals-alike. Our trusted travel guide once again proved that he knows his stuff and he continues to be the trusted source for all our travel abroad recommendations. So the next time you find yourself in Florence and want a decent meal for a great price, come check out Trattoria Da Giorgio.

Outstanding! Two plates, side, and a glass of either red or white wine. The cost is only €20! The food tastes fantastic and the atmosphere is perfect!

We found this place walking distance from our hotel! It doesn't open until 7 pm! So we're there at 7:05pm and the staff greeted us with a warm welcome! We scan a QR code for our menu but the internet was really slow! So the staff let us use their ipad! My husband ordered the Florentine steak 30 euros (it was cooked to perfection and very tasty), I just had the spinach and ricotta ravioli (really soft and had the right amount of sauce)! It was really fresh and tasted home-made! I also had the mozzarella and tomato salad! Wine was included and no covered charge! 20 Euros!

I had a great food experience here. They had a special of two course meal and a side dish. I picked a a dish recommend by a worker. A pasta dish with meat in a creamy sauce. It was delicious. It had a nice fresh flavor to it. My second course was a meat dish with rosemary. My plate had a small portions of chicken, stake and sausage. They definitely tasted how it was roasted with rosemary, delicious. My side dish was a salad. That was good too. Our dinner came with a drink. The staff was incredibly nice and patient and worked with us. The place is small and cozy. It is a cool little restaurant with art work all around.

Great food, vetter service and an easy location! This fun, energetics restaurant is on spot with everything. Really enjoyed the staff and their willingness to make everything better including great recommendations.

Incredible 3 course meal, wine, and water for 15€ (lunch)! The truffle pasta was incredible. I started to feel full but then when the salad and fish dish arrived, I had to try both. The salad was so fresh and the fish was cooked to perfection with a delicious tomato sauce, so I finished it all. The white wine was very smooth too. Trattoria Da Giorgio felt more traditional and not touristy at all.

This place is priceless. If you don't love Italian food already, you will fall head over heals after eating here. I first discovered this place about 4 or 5 years ago. Back then the waiters didn't speak English and the menu wasn't translated. But the food was just phenomenal. Fast forward to 2019, they have translated menus and the waiters speak English. I purposely came back to eat here again and consider this one of the best places in Florence. During my trip I ate here 2 times; would have been 3 if they weren't closed on Sunday. Food: This place has some of the best gnocchi you will ever try. The pasta here in general is just amazing. It's worth getting the Florentine steak here also, which is served on a sizzling plate and just divine. The menu is super affordable with dinner costing just 15 euros. That includes a starter, bread, side, main dish, water and wine. I would pay way more for this food!

We ate here on our first night in Florence and spent the rest of our trip talking about it. In fact, we came back to Florence a night early from Cortona and tried our luck at getting another table. They were completely packed and couldn't fit us in, which honestly tells you everything you need to know. If you want to eat here, make a reservation. You might get lucky if you show up right when they open, but Florence seems to get busier every year and I wouldn't count on it. The atmosphere is exactly what you hope for when you picture a fun night in Florence--great music, laughter, conversation, shared tables, excellent wine, and people genuinely enjoying themselves. It's lively without feeling touristy and somehow manages to feel both energetic and intimate at the same time. Our server, Lorenzo, was phenomenal. He helped us select a bottle of 2021 Vigna del Sorbo Chianti Classico, which ended up being my favorite wine of the entire trip. We started with buttered toast and anchovies. It sounds incredibly simple, but it was one of the most memorable bites we had in Italy. We shared the duck ragù pasta, lasagna, osso buco, and lamb chop. Every dish was excellent, but the duck ragù and lamb were standouts. We finished with a raspberry tiramisu that was the perfect ending to the meal. The food was fantastic, the wine was fantastic, the service was fantastic, and the ambiance was everything you could want. P.S. If you can't get in, don't panic--the restaurant across the street is also very good. But if you can get a table here, do it.

We chatted with the table next to us on the way out and met some fellow Texans! On our way out, the owner also remembered my name and started introducing me to other tables to make friends. What a fun place to be! The food was absolutely amazing. When we saw them slicing the salami right in front of us, we decided to order the salami plate and we were so glad we did! The zucchini flower and saffron pasta was bursting with flavor and the pasta was so perfectly cooked. I couldn't get enough! The duck ragu pasta was also hearty, rich, and delicious. The sauce was so good, my family soaked up every last bit with our bread. The ricotta spinach ravioli was also amazing!! Again the sauce was such a standout. The ravioli was so fresh with the perfect amount of bite. The green pepper sauce steak was soooo good. Cooked perfectly, with such a unique sauce that the whole peppercorns added perfectly to in texture and spice. Finally, the raspberry tiramisu. We were so full, but when they set these down our dessert stomachs were ready. They were amazing! Not the strongest raspberry flavor, but still such a delicious end to the meal. Side note, you MUST have a reservation to eat here, and they only take reservations by call. Because I didn't have a way to call them, I asked my Airbnb hosts who did it for me (also amazing people). While we were eating, there was a crowd forming outside of people waiting to get in but unable to. It's so worth it to visit Vini e Vecchi Sappori! I'll definitely have to come back next time I'm in Florence.

Not many places actually have yelp reviews, but this one had so many with great feedback. The food looked amazing. When we arrived we thought they were closed, but that is because they moved to a bigger restaurant a few doors down. When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations. The line was a bit long, but doubled in size almost immediately. It also started pouring rain during this time and we were ALL getting drenched even with an umbrella. The non reservation line was not really moving unless people left the line. We waited a good hour. As we inched closer and closer, the lines were now both outrageous and getting seated seemed like a distant memory. The staff came out and gave out Sangria and Bread bites to help those in line feel welcome. We did finally get seated and we were so glad we waited, it was worth it! We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, the lobster spaghettini and the chicken breast with roasted potatoes. We also ordered sangria. Everything was so good and our total was 83 €.
