    Chicken cacciatore
    Karin M.

Rosario, Sam and the La Strada team, dinner in your cozy back dining room was outstanding as usual last night. Thanks again for accommodating and preparing all our favorites. The bruschetta pie was over the top. We had our usual favorites and your chicken cacciatore keeps getting better and better. The littleneck clams over linguine was phenomenal and so was the eggplant parmigiana. Bravo!

First time ordering, I wasn't overly impressed. Taste like a generic slice. I need something more in my nj pizza.

DO NOT COME HERE!! This place is gross. Don't get me started. Besides the outdated decor, the food is horrendous. The pizza has more oil on it than a grease trap. The garlic knots are also so oily. Just gross! I saw the owner find a garlic knot on the floor and he just kicked it under a booth.

Trattoria La Strada is a wonderful local pizzeria in Warren NJ in the A&P strip mall. It's been around for many years. I really enjoy their fresh broccoli white pie with ricotta on it. The ricotta is piped on top with little flowerettes . The crust is crispy and not doughy. It tends to be on the thinner side, but I wouldn't consider it thin crust. The slices are a nice size and they come fully loaded with toppings of your choice. Many interesting toppings like eggplant Parm with ricotta, buffalo chicken, stuffed veggie, and grandma pizza. I took my pizza to go but I noticed if u eat there they have new looking booths. The staff is very friendly and inviting. Trattoria La Strada makes and serves many of the Italian specialty dishes from your hot and cold subs to calzones, stromboli's and hot Italian classics. Let's face it, this is comfort food at its best. Don't forget to save room for one of their delicious desserts. So bring your friends, or family and Mangia ! Mangia ! ( Eat! Eat!)

Bread for the sandwiches was perfect, crispy yet soft. Pizza dough was also excellent a great find.

It included a healthy serving of meats and cheeses on a long (crusty-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside) sub roll. All of the sandwiches are named after infamous Italians, including one of their signature sandwiches "The Godfather". The interior décor was modern and inviting. Lots of varieties to choose from, along with chicken noodle soup, sodas, chips, and a selection of salads. We shared yummy homemade chocolate chip cookies for dessert. They also offer ready-to-fill cannolis with lots of toppings. Can't wait to try them on our next visit! The location is tucked back in the strip-mall next to Delicious Heights. Definitely worth checking out!

That set the tone a bit, and the staff stayed pretty flat and distant throughout. In a place serving Italian sandwiches, you'd hope for at least a little of that classic deli energy, but it felt more transactional than welcoming. On the plus side, the sandwiches were loaded with meat--generous piles of gabagool (capicola) and the other cold cuts, so you definitely get your money's worth in terms of quantity. That's the highlight. Flavor-wise, though, they fell short. Everything tasted kind of one-note and under-seasoned. The meat was good quality, but it needed salt, maybe some oregano, a splash of vinegar or oil, or just more care in the assembly to bring it to life. It wasn't bad, just forgettable--more filling than satisfying. Overall, it's a solid 3-star spot if you're purely after a big, meat-heavy sandwich and don't mind basic service. If you want personality behind the counter or a sub that actually pops with flavor, you might want to keep looking. We left somewhat satisfied but not impressed, and probably won't make a special trip back.
