Great service(the people there are very sweet), good food, and you get to see actual trains pull into the station! How great is that! And the entire station is decorated with collectable photos of the history of the station(although I doubt the Jesse James wanted poster is legit). Super quaint with great food!! I was looking anywhere and everywhere for pancakes and I'm happy that we stumbled upon this spot since another place had over an hour wait. The syrup is prepackaged BUT you don't miss the real stuff once you try the pancakes. The hash browns are made well and are so flavorful, you'd think they were home made. The butter is also served room temperature so it's super spreadable and easy to handle. And lastly the bacon is generous when you include it with your food. Basically it tastes like breakfast at grandma's. The decor was so cute and it's such a great little breakfast nook with very good service. I believe i was oversold on the Station Cafe by the reviews posted on Yelp. The restaurant indoors is nice but too chilly so we ordered then moved outdoors where the tables are adjacent to the train tracks. The atmosphere is conducive for kids but adults probably prefer that the train not cross their path. The food is fine but the quality to similar to a diner. The omelet I ordered is best described as a mess of eggs and vegetables swished together on a flat top. I prefer the more classical eggs enveloping the filings. In the end, the restaurant is fine, the staff are hustling, and we only tried egg dishes. I hope there are standout items on the menu that resonate with diners. For us, the next time I search for a breakfast place in the area, I will probably try somewhere else. Filter through the Yelp reviews; if they are consistently high praise probably best to try the second choice instead. read more

Came here with my father-in-law. The staff is sweet and it has a "mom-n-pops" feel to it. Some people were here for brunch and seemed disappointed at the styrofoam plates and plastic forks. Eggs are always perfectly cooked- although would note that they don't serve poached eggs for some reason... Pancakes are delicious and so fluffy! Coffee is great too. Would love to give this place 5 stars but I hate that they serve everything on styrofoam plates! I get that a lot of people might take their food to-go but even paper or cardboard would be much more eco-friendly than styrofoam. This is one of my favorite spots to get a sandwich. There is nothing fancy about an egg salad sandwich, but if that's what you feel like then this is the place to go. It's first in its class in the breakfast/lunch cafe category. All the salads are homemade and really hit the spot. I often get the Greek salad pita when I feel like being healthy - they have lots of other pita sandwiches as well. Actually they have tons of different kinds of sandwiches - wraps, pitas, clubs etc. They have a juicy flavorful burger - I had the California burger and as another review said there is none better especially at the price. It's 8 oz. and you would easily pay double at a fancier spot. No foie gras or fig jam on the burger but that's fine with me. The cafe is in the Millington train station so you get to watch trains and commuters if that's your thing. It's decor is appropriately train centric with pictures from the past that are interesting. Good atmosphere. It's like taking a time trip to another era, especially given it's not on the beaten path. The drive through semi-rural southern Morris is always nice. I thought of giving four stars because they do use plastic plates and utensils but I'll be fair and rate it just on the food because I suspect they have limited work space - it's a small train station. Something to work on though.... It's good for kids too. They have stuff children can play with and a kids menu that has more than just chicken fingers. read more

An absolute jewel in the rough. There's a diner in nearly every square mile in NJ, and many of them are interchangeable with one another. This one -- a cafe and train station all in one, serving breakfast and lunch -- is a real delight. Drove out to this beautiful part of New Jersey to drop off an ailing baby bird at the Raptor Trust and discovered this gem of a diner. Situated at the 100 year old train depot, it features not only original wooden fixtures walls and the like, but the friendliest staff and BEST diner food you could conjure up. This was once a real train station. The train still stops at Millington Station and it's a great place to grab something to eat before catching the train. You won't find anything fancy here and the food is served with disposable utensils and plates. They only serve breakfast and lunch. Kids love it because they provide a lot of little toys for them to play with.The food is always tasty, fresh, and hot. Their blueberry pancakes are the best! Real blueberries cooked inside and not just thrown on top. The coffee is so delicious. For lunch I normally will get a burger which are nice and thick. It is such a hidden gem; cozy and cute on the inside with ample outdoor seating for the summer months. They are absolutely kid friendly; providing little toys, coloring books and lollipops which delight my 5 year old brother. The ladies are very accommodating and welcoming. Typically, there is only one guy running the ship in the kitchen which is why it's so impressive that the food ALWAYS comes out quickly. There are plenty of diverse breakfast/brunch/lunch options on the menu that are sure to please. The food never fails to arrive tasting fresh and cooked to perfection. Great family place for breakfast and lunch. My wife and I used to go before we had kids and now we bring the whole family. The kids love the toys, trains and books and it keeps them occupied while we are waiting for our food (which is never very long). The breakfasts and burgers are excellent and they are very accommodating to special needs and diets as well. Even a healthy choice menu for those strong enough to pass up real bacon for turkey bacon.
