I decided to try Yella's again and my experience was better. They are more established since my first try. I had a craving for the now defunct BK Broiler from Burger King and saw that Yella's had a marinated grilled chicken sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. You can definitely taste that it's marinated. A tad too salty but not enough that I couldn't enjoy it. There were two pounded-thin pieces of chicken and they were tender. Pure definition of MID.. from the service to the taste of the food. It LOOKS AMAZING but certified click bait and overpriced. This was the smallest SKIMPIEST pastrami sandwich known to man, as was the bacon cheese burger, it was like an XL slider at best! TLDR: If you want a sandwich on the go. This spot will get the job done. It's classic lunch food that doesn't need to be amazing, but fills you til dinner time. The Benny Brown: Think wet Philly Cheesesteak but with mozzarella instead of cheddar cheese. I wasn't expecting much and those lowered expectations were at least met. I feel that the sliced beef was overcooked, the onions didn't make things "juicier", and the gravy failed at giving it a flavor that was unique. Most of what I tasted was the heavy crusted sliced beef, and it didn't really impress me. Service: It's alright. We got there just before the lunch rush so we got our food pretty quickly. It was packed full of girls in soccer uniforms, who fortunately got their food to go. Turns out there's a 10% discount for students in sports uniforms! The subs looked INCREDIBLE, but I didn't see a GF bread option. Didn't ask, had a grilled chicken salad and fries. Probably could have had just the sub filling on a bowl, but the salad sounded appealing. It was pretty good, and the balsamic vinaigrette was generously applied. The skin-on fries were YUMMY! Crispy and delicious. They have their own soda, in fun flavors, but I ordered bottled water. And didn't get it, had to go back to the counter. Order taker was on the phone for AGES, with someone yakking away, but did apologize, and someone else took my order on a mobile thingy. Its got the vibes of a Johnny rockets but the menu of a deli and grill. I came during lunch time, and the staff was jumping around from the grill to back to the register. I realized that this was a popular local joint. I ordered the chipotle chicken cheesesteak. It is made with fresh arugula and heated on the spot on a grill. The chicken was moist and the chipotle flavor was not too spicy. The wait time was really long so I recommend calling in your order. They also forgot my order but the manager on staff recognized and remediated the error. While waiting, I watched them make some amazing milkshakes. Let's jump right into it. The food was delicious, there's no denying that. The wait for our food? A little ridiculous. We did go around lunch time and ordered in person. When walking in, you can immediately see it was hectic from the lunch rush. The restaurant is decorated very nicely, with retro burger spot vibes. We waited about 5 minutes at the register before someone took our order. After, we waited about 20 minutes before someone finally bagged our food that was just sitting on their counter (didn't know it was ours). We took the food to go and got home to a bag of fries sprinkled with disappointment. The serving was so small... so if you want an average serving, definitely order 2 orders. Other than that, the burger and sandwich were delicious and perfect sizes. So ultimately, the long wait and microscopic size of fries earned the 3 stars. read more

I've been here a few times. It's very standard American/burger joint food. It's a little expensive even for the area, and the wait times are killer. It tastes good and portions are standard. But it isn't my first choice to return to. I also didn't like how they ran out of ingredients for a special milkshake they were running and instead of telling me just gave me a simpler, normal version when I paid more for the special one. read more

5 stars all the way! Great location on the border of Warren and Liberty Corner. They just recently opened and it was crowded but the staff were super friendly and they got the orders out surprisingly fast. Atmosphere has a retro vibe and there is plenty of seating. Solid entry in the chicken and burgers shops in the area. Yesterday was their first day open, and even though it was incredibly crowded, the staff pushed the food out fairly quickly. Prices are pretty reasonable, and the shakes are excellent. Plenty of seating, but we took out this time and will definitely return to try some different options and eat there. The chicken sandwich was great, well seasoned, and the wings had a nice kick to them. When this place (Warren/Basking Ridge location) opened, the food, the place, the service were all very good. It took forever to get your food but they deserved a chance to get their act together. We've ordered from Yella's several times since then. The wait for food is still long but the food is at best, inconsistent. Pros: - portion sizes for the price were adequate - fries tasted decent, patty and toppings tasted pretty good Cons: - buns were literally just taken out of a pack from a supermarket. My mother ordered me the jumbo chicken wings, not only were they undercooked and chewy, the way my stomach is feeling is unacceptable. I would not recommend anybody to eat this. I have a strong stomach and I still feel very uneasy after eating these jumbo chicken wings.
