We discovered this gem slightly after they opened. Took my very Italian in-laws here. The owners are amazing, staff is incredible. Since, we've ordered many items off the menu and it rivals some of the best Italian in Astoria. We live within walking distance so whenever I order take away I pick it up, today the kitchen was a tad backed up (less than 10 mins) and the owner offered me a glass of wine while I wait. Class act. Such a beautiful restaurant both indoor and outdoors. The staff and service was immaculate. The servers were knowledgeable and helpful when asking for recommendations. The chicken parm was the best I've had in NYC. The portions were perfect size. The homemade cheesecake was to die for!! The atmosphere had a romantic charm and I will 100 percent be coming back! Trattoria Ora was great! I live locally so although it's off the beaten path - it was worth the walk. It's tucked away on a pretty random street in Astoria. The food was very good, as was the service. The waitress was very attentive to us. I would recommend this place for a local date night. The only thing is it was a little bit empty - even on Valentine's Day. Although I went late, I expected there to be a bit more of a crowd. It didn't really matter though because they did not rush us out at all and we were the last people dining for the evening. I will def return! read more

A godsend to the neighborhood!!! I've been living in the same place for 17 years and we've been waiting for a place like this. Let's start with the staff. Mimi, Ramo, Daniella, Mina (and sometimes Soad). As soon as you walk in the door, someone is warmly greeting you and showing you where to sit. Mimi and Ramo are the owners and they make you feel like you're part of their family. Daniella and Mina take care of you and make sure you have everything you need. OMG the damn food!!! My mouth is watering right now thinking about the olives and cheese and bread and olive oil they start you out with. I had the portabello mushroom appetizer and the mushroom ravioli. The deliciousness of it all. I'm drooling thinking about how succulent it was. My favorite dessert so far has been the chocolate cake. It's not cakey cake but like a between pudding and fudge consistency cake. This description is not doing it justice. You just have to come in and eat it. You won't r be sorry (if you're a chocolate lover). My husband loves the ricotta cheesecake. He would have licked the plate if he could. Please come and eat at this darling gem of a restaurant. This place clearly knows what they're doing. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu bc what we had was so good. The bolognese and shrimp fra diavlo were amazing. The linguini was cooked perfectly and the bolognese sauce was just as good if not better than other Astoria Italian spots (i.e. vite, vesta, etc.). It was a rainy Friday evening during the hysteria of the Christmas season so I decided to treat myself to some Italian food. Trattoria Ora was recommended by neighbors and figured it would be a great day to try it out. Full disclosure I ordered for pick up and was VERY impress by the ambiance and quaintness of the actual restaurant. Great place to get to know someone as it is quiet but buzzing at the same time. Food: penne alla vodka was delicious and one of the best I've had in a long time! I took a gamble and got the fried calamari to go and as expected it was rubbery and blah - But that's to be expected. Chicken Parm/Eggplant rollantini was standard--hard to mess these old time classics up (I would recommend). Overall pretty good for take out and look forward to sit down meal there! read more

I came across this restaurant last week when I drove by and was like what is this place. I looked it up on yelp and saw that it was new and had great reviews. I went tonight based off the reviews and had a great experience. We had the cold platter for an appetizer (meat and cheese platter). It was good but my only suggestion would be to have two different cheeses as there are two different meats. I had the ravioli funghetto and my bf had the striped bass livornese both meals were delicious. We both shared the homemade tiramisu which was very tasty. Just discovered this trattoria. I felt like I was in Italy. The place is one month old and it is beautiful and charming. The owner is friendly and happy to accommodate any special orders. Terrible delivery service ! I ordered a chicken Marsala, which was supposed to be delivered by 8.15pm. I waited and waited, finally yelp prompted me to contact grubhub, which i did. They called the restaurant and they were told that they're delivering my food in 7,8 mn. I took it upon myself to call the restaurant, they had no clue i ordered anything. Minutes later the delivery guy came in, the sauce was poured all over the plastic bag. I gave him back the food. I'll NEVER order from this place again read more

Ordered delivery. Took over an hour and a half. Eggplant Parma dinner was sour like the gravy was old. Bread was soggy. Salad had no dressing. Maybe they added the missing dressing from the salad to the eggplant. Wouldn't suggest this place to anyone who lives Italian food. read more

First, the ambient is intimate and pleasant. 2) Serving staff are friendly and attentive. 3) appetizer is great (fired calamari), too big for 2 of us. 4) specially made chicken Marsala (not on menu)... yum! 5) ice wine on the house, 6) home made apple strudel with ice cream to round up the evening. My husband and I decided to try out this place for our anniversary dinner last night. I had checked out the reviews online prior to arriving and had seen that the place had opened recently, so I wasn't surprised when we walked into the restaurant and were the only people there. Typically I would have been uncomfortable and would have turned around and walked out. However, this place had such a cute vibe and based on everyone else's reviews we stuck it out, and I am so happy we did. Our meal started with fresh chunks of Parmesan cheese, olives and bread, all of which were tasty. My husband was disappointed that there wasn't any vinegar to accompany the olive oil for the bread until he realized that the olive oil had some sort of spice infusion, which he absolutely loved. We had the red beet salad to start, which was simple, but still delicious. I got the ravioli for my main course, and despite the fact that I typically don't like mushrooms the ravioli was AMAZING. Seriously, every single bite was amazing. I'm usually sad at the portion size of ravioli dishes, but they give you 5 very large ravioli, so don't be worried about portion size. My husband had the lamb chops and thought they were fantastic and savored every bite. We shared the ricotta cheesecake for desert as it was highly recommended by other yelpers. The cheesecake was good, not out of this world good, but still very tasty. Overall, this place is absolutely worth checking out. The atmosphere is romantic and refined, the food is fantastic, and the service is very pleasant. Highly recommend. We will be back. From the moment we walked in, we knew we would love. We were greeted by an extremely warm staff. The decor and ambience was so inviting. We were seated and noticed the tables covered in crisp white table clothes. The wine glasses on the table were glistening and basically asked us to order wine . We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and probably was one of the fried calamari we ever had. Entrees were served piping hot,. I ordered the shrimp fra Diablo over linguine. It was exquisite. My wife ordered farfale dolcino. So good. We decided to pair these dishes with a California Pinot Noir.. Perfect. The owner, Mimi, recommended a trio of the homemade desserts, tiramisu, Italian cheesecake, and apple strudel. Decadent. I highly recommend giving this a try. I will be a definite return customer. The food was excellent. The staff were very knowledge and helpful. Top shelf service with great attention to detail. Silverware was always served off of a white cloth napkin. Everything was always replaced. We asked for chicken Marsala not in the menu and the chef made it up no questions ask apple strudel was excellent.
